115: Let's go surfing together
As she was daydreaming, her phone suddenly rang. Seeing it was Kim Ji-soo calling, she answered.
Before Xu Zhiyou could say anything, Kim Ji-soo directly said, "We're at BJ Airport. Come pick us up."
Xu Zhiyou was momentarily stunned, then felt a little happy. It seemed her kindness wasn't wasted. "Oh my! How long has it been since we parted, and you already miss me?"
Kim Ji-soo pouted, thinking, 'Still so narcissistic.' "Thanks to you, the four of us are quite famous in your country too."
"So?"
"So, hurry up and come pick us up!" Kim Ji-soo hung up the phone directly, still muttering, "Why is she still so long-winded?"
"Jisoo, let's find a good spot to sit and wait for her!" Kim Jennie felt a bit unsafe there.
Kim Ji-soo observed for a moment, then nodded. "Alright, let's go over there."
...
Grabbing her keys, she rushed to the airport. Her home wasn't too far from there, about an hour's drive.
Xu Zhiyou was a bit speechless seeing their attire. "Actually, just wearing sunglasses and a mask is enough. That's what I always do."
Being fully disguised, and four people at that, gave off a bit of a 'protesting too much' vibe.
"Why are you so late! Boo hoo hoo, my butt hurts from sitting." Park Chaeyoung gave her a bear hug upon seeing her, carefully avoiding her wound.
"It's only been an hour, is that a long time? Let's go! Get in the car first." She dragged Park Chaeyoung out. The paparazzi in mainland entertainment were just as relentless.
"How's your wound?" Kim Ji-soo finally had time to ask once they were in the car.
"It's almost there, another two months or so and it'll be fine." She even showed it to Kim Ji-soo. She was tough and resilient; such a small injury was nothing.
Park Chaeyoung interjected, "I want to eat roast duck. Take me there first." Now that their schedule was over, she could finally eat her fill.
"Alright, I'll take you guys to eat."
Xu Zhiyou thought for a moment and decided to take them to eat authentic Chinese food near a famous university; the roast duck there was exceptional.
The car sped along, and they quickly reached their destination. Looking at the antique-style decor, Park Chaeyoung asked, puzzled, "This isn't the one we went to before."
"This one tastes better. Follow me!"
Kim Jennie and Kim Ji-soo had often heard Park Chaeyoung talk about how delicious the roast duck was there and had long wanted to try it, so they quickly followed.
"As soon as I walked in, I smelled it, so fragrant! Order me a few more duck necks..." Park Chaeyoung poked Xu Zhiyou and said as soon as she entered the door.
"My royalty fees just came in, eat as much as you want."
Seeing her money-grubbing look, Kim Jennie couldn't help but ask, "How much money makes you so arrogant?"
"Secret!"
"Hmph!"
Once all the dishes were served, Park Chaeyoung was the first to dig in, quietly moving all the duck necks closer to her; she loved that particular dish the most.
Xu Zhiyou saw this and ordered more. How could Park Chaeyoung comment on her eating when she herself wasn't any better?
"Chaeyoung, aren't you supposed to be on a diet?" Kim Ji-soo watched her mouth stuffed full, truly dieting with her mouth.
"How often do I get to eat like this? We can talk about dieting next time." The limited Korean entertainment ban meant they rarely had a chance to come here.
It was better to seize the moment and eat; even a second of hesitation would be a defilement of the delicious food.
"Hurry up and eat!" Xu Zhiyou joined in.
Halfway through the meal, Kim Ji-soo asked curiously, "What have you been doing lately?"
Xu Zhiyou, gnawing on a duck foot, casually said, "Studying cybersecurity!"
"You actually went to study that? What do you need that for?" Kim Ji-soo hadn't expected her to actually go and learn it.
"You don't understand. These days, there are cameras everywhere. If I become a big star later, there will definitely be anti-fans and such. It'll be useful."
"Is it hard to learn?"
Park Chaeyoung was interested. Her thoughts were the same as Xu Zhiyou's; those hackers online looked so cool.
If she learned it, she could occasionally peek into Xu Zhiyou's secrets too.
"I'm still building the foundation, so I don't know. I'll see after I've studied for a while." Her math foundation was very good, so she found it quite easy to understand those algorithms.
Her memory was also excellent, and she hadn't encountered any difficulties so far.
"Alright then, when you learn it, come teach me."
"Chaeyoung! You? I think not!" Lisa saw that Park Chaeyoung was serious and couldn't help but find it absurd. If she had that kind of brain, why would she be an idol?
"Ya! What do you mean by that? Are you looking down on me?"
"It's not that I'm looking down on you, but we need to face reality." She then showed her the information she had found.
"Look at this before you say anything. This stuff is purely for gifted people. The amazing ones are truly amazing, and the ones who can't do it truly can't. We're not suited for it."
"I'm not looking."
It was so annoying; she was being looked down upon so much. She would just learn it to show her. Who was she looking down on? Park Chaeyoung was also very smart.
"Alright, alright, whatever you want. It's fine if you hit a wall."
Lisa wasn't purely trying to discourage her. It was good enough to do her own job well. Being overly ambitious, not everyone was Xu Zhiyou.
After spending a long time with such a talented person, the only thing one had to learn was to recognize oneself, otherwise, over time, it would become unbalanced.
She glared fiercely at Lisa and said, "I don't want to deal with you today. Don't come near me, or I'll beat you to death."
"Stop it, are you still eating or not? If not, let's go." Xu Zhiyou was truly fed up with these two ancestors; they loved to bicker and tease each other for no reason.
"Throw her out! She's affecting my appetite!"
"Hehe!" Seeing the pile of bones in front of her, it was rich of her to say her appetite was affected.
Kim Ji-soo and Kim Jennie were completely focused on eating, too lazy to bother with these two. Mainly because the food was indeed delicious.
...
After eating roast duck, they went to a nearby mall to browse, each holding a drink and watching a performance in the mall.
Lisa saw a little girl dancing on stage and said, "I used to perform at these kinds of events all the time when I was little. In a blink of an eye, so many years have passed."
"I've seen yours, you were really ugly back then, like a tomboy, hahaha~" Park Chaeyoung always wanted to laugh whenever she saw it.
"You weren't much better, laughing at me! Hmph!" Lisa shrugged, indicating her disdain when she saw Park Chaeyoung like that.
"Stop!"
Kim Ji-soo ran to the middle and separated the two of them. They just couldn't sit together.
"You two are enough, bringing up childhood. Who knew in childhood that I would grow up to be the visual of a girl group? Everyone was the same."
"I think Dumpling Ni is indeed quite good. I've watched her interview program, and she really has a lot of personality."
"Just so-so. Go buy me another one!" Kim Jennie was too lazy to respond; watching the children sing and dance was also quite nice.
"Don't you have legs?"
"Language barrier, otherwise why would I ask you? Hurry up!"
"Uh???"
In the end, she still went to buy her another drink.
