84: End recording
Xu Zhiyou got up and returned the piano to its original state. “I forgot the lyrics. Let’s leave it at that for now. We can talk about it again if there’s a chance later.”
“Ugh!!!”
Kim Ji-soo couldn’t help but admire her thought process. She had thought Xu Zhiyou would sing the whole song in one go, but it turned out to be such a twist.
“Do you think we believe you?” Jeong Hyeong-don was truly impressed by her ability to lie so easily.
“I really forgot!” She put on an innocent expression.
Xu Zhiyou’s act almost made Kim Ji-soo and the other three burst out laughing. They hadn’t expected Xu Zhiyou to pretend to be a pure, innocent little white flower.
Jeong Hyeong-don rolled his eyes. He didn’t even need Kim Jennie to cover her face; he already knew Xu Zhiyou was faking it. “Alright, let’s continue with the show.”
Yoo Dae-joon, though he wanted to listen, knew the show’s length was limited and they had to hurry. He picked up his cue card and began to read.
“Your fans said that you haven’t spoken since your debut. Uh, it should mean you haven’t made a public statement. This needs to be precise!”
“It’s fine as long as we understand it, no worries!” Park Chaeyoung was generous.
“Oh, Rose is so thoughtful. So, how about you all do a one-minute self-introduction to let your fans get to know you better.”
“And also prove that you’re not mute. Kim Ji-soo, Lisa, who wants to go first?”
“Lisa!” The four of them all looked at Lisa.
They hadn’t expected to be so in sync when selling out Lisa. Kim Jennie and Kim Ji-soo high-fived, acting like terrible people.
“Lisa, it’s you. Don’t be surprised, you’ve been sold out. Haha!” Jeong Hyeong-don found it amusing to see Lisa who hadn’t reacted yet.
“Senior, we’re showing her care. Such a face-showing opportunity must be hers.”
“Kim Ji-soo, we understand. The explanation is a bit redundant. This is good. Come on, Lisa, one-minute self-introduction.”
“Annyeonghaseyo, I’m from Thailand, uh, Lalisa, uh, 20 years old, uh…”
“Lisa, don’t be nervous, take your time.” Jeong Hyeong-don felt nervous just listening.
“Hehe!” She took a moment to compose herself and then smoothly finished her introduction.
When it came to Park Chaeyoung and Xu Zhiyou, both were quite relaxed and smooth. But when it was Kim Jennie’s turn, she started to pout, too nervous, putting her hands behind her back one moment, pinching her nails the next, with frequent small movements.
Yoo Dae-joon almost couldn’t hold back his laughter; it was too funny. “Jennie, don’t just pout, you have to speak!”
“Hahahahaha~”
Lisa kept giggling. The last place had arrived! Although she stuttered a bit, at least she could speak.
Kim Jennie just pouted, mumbled, and blushed, even more embarrassing than her.
“I want to say hello to my dog.”
“Ugh!!!”
Jeong Hyeong-don and Yoo Dae-joon didn’t know what to say. They felt like they were really old and couldn’t keep up with the young girls’ minds.
Jeong Hyeong-don could only sigh in the end: “Then go ahead!”
“Hahaha~” Park Chaeyoung almost choked on her laughter. She would never have guessed Kim Jennie would say that.
“Kuma, mommy loves you.”
“Huh? Done!”
“Done!” She answered with a blank, adorable expression.
Yoo Dae-joon couldn’t hold it in; she was too cute. “Hahaha~”
“Kim Ji-soo, it’s your turn.” Jeong Hyeong-don only hoped this one would be more normal.
“Annyeonghaseyo, hahaha~” She started laughing wildly without saying a single word. Jeong Hyeong-don covered his face, and Yoo Dae-joon squatted down.
“Kim Ji-soo, why are you laughing so happily? Did you find money?”
“Haha, annyeong, I just love to laugh a bit. My name is Kim Ji-soo, a Peninsula native, 22 years old, and I love to eat everything.”
“Do you really love to eat everything?”
“Of course!”
“Organs soup?”
“Annyeong, no!”
…
After asking several more times, all were no. Jeong Hyeong-don looked at her suspiciously: “Kim Ji-soo, this and that are no, you have to keep your word!”
Xu Zhiyou suddenly felt that she and Park Chaeyoung were the only normal ones; the other three had some issues.
Still giggling, Jeong Hyeong-don checked the time and moved on to the next segment.
“Next up is a dance battle. Whichever part of the music is played, you dance that part. Are you ready?”
In the end, Kim Jennie and Park Chaeyoung were hit with a hammer, as expected.
…
After the recording ended, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. It was their first time, so a little nervousness was normal.
“What are we doing next?”
Kim Ji-soo looked at Xu Zhiyou, feeling like there was nothing to do after this show, and her heart suddenly felt empty.
“What else can we do? Practice our dance. We’re going to the Asian Music Festival as guests.”
To be honest, Xu Zhiyou didn’t want to go. The AAA Awards Ceremony, fully known as the Asia Artist Awards.
It is an annual awards event that aims to recognize artists and works with outstanding performances in various fields such as music, film, television dramas, and variety shows in the Asian region.
Many of the people sitting below were from the film and television industry, and they clearly looked down on idols. She couldn’t stand performing on stage while a group of cold faces watched from below.
“What are you doing? Don’t you want to go?” Kim Ji-soo clearly felt her resistance.
“Some of your country’s film and television professionals are a bit arrogant and incompetent, and I find it somewhat repulsive.”
“Then don’t go.”
Park Chaeyoung thought about it and decided against it. It seemed Girls’ Generation had also been treated coldly before, and they weren’t much stronger.
“There are still two days. Let’s see. I’ll investigate whether it’s worth going.” Xu Zhiyou still decided to wait and see.
To be honest, with her around, BLACKPINK didn’t need to suffer this. It wasn’t like they couldn’t get popular, and she could certainly film TV shows.
Acting in a few bad movies made them think they were so important; she didn’t care.
“Where are you going to investigate? We don’t have any channels.”
“Dumpling, haven’t I taught you? When in doubt, ask your seniors! What are all those seniors we know for?”
“That’s right. Aren’t some of Girls’ Generation birds of a feather with you? You go ask, we support you.”
“Speak properly. What do you mean by birds of a feather? Be careful, the seniors might make things difficult for you.”
“No fear, aren’t you here to shield us? I’m not afraid.”
“Are you guys getting a bit carried away? Is that something we can just decide not to go to?” Lisa was greatly confused, feeling that these four were a bit crazy.
“Lalisa, how little do you think of Zoe to have such a thought? If she doesn’t want to go, can the CEO force her?” Park Chaeyoung looked at her with an idiotic gaze.
“That’s true, then it’s fine. To be honest, I’ve seen videos, and if it’s like that, I’d also feel pretty bad. It’s better not to go.”
“It’s not certain yet. I’ll ask first and then we’ll talk.”
Back in the practice room, she started to inquire. The eight members of Girls’ Generation had experience with this, and she would not perform for people who looked down on her.
If it came down to strength, it was still uncertain who looked down on whom. What kind of class did they have to look down on her?
“Yoona Eonni, calling, this is Zoe.”
Soon after, a reply came back, “What are you doing? This is a phone, not a walkie-talkie.”
