3: Happy

The three of them found her behavior amusing; she was so young, yet she already knew how to blush.

"I just heard a song in the mall, thought it was simple, and wrote it down. I haven't had any training, so what can I do with only this level of skill?"

"Haha!" Jiang Ling couldn't help but laugh at her hesitant manner.

"Mom, didn't you hear her say she just heard it in the mall and could write it?"

"Hmm?"

Jiang Ling had been so engrossed in the little girl's beauty that she hadn't thought much of it, but thinking back, it did seem a bit incredible.

"Here, this is her new song. The melody is very common, and the lyrics are a mess, but for her age, it's pretty good that she knows so many words."

Xu Zhiyou thought, 'Are you complimenting me or insulting me? If it's a compliment, it's really not necessary.'

The two of them took it and glanced at it, and their thoughts were pretty much the same as their daughter's. Anyone who had received professional training wouldn't be able to write such disjointed lyrics.

The main thing was the catchy melody, but this catchy melody was indeed commonly used in malls, so everything made sense.

The three of them had only one thought: she was a gifted prodigy, a musical genius. If she were properly nurtured, she might become a great musician in the future.

"If you want me to help you sell more songs, then listen to me. Come on, call me 'Sister' and let me hear it." Xu Wen also pinched her cheek along the way; it had a really nice feel.

The little kid also seemed quite dependent on her, which was evident from her only approaching Xu Wen to sell songs. As a police officer, she knew a bit about psychology.

"Uh???"

A slap landed on the back of her head, and she was instantly stunned. "Quickly, call me 'Sister'! I haven't experienced what it's like to be an older sister yet!"

Seeing Xu Wen raise her hand again, she quickly called out, "Si... Sis..."

"Straighten your tongue and say it again."

"Sister!" She was on the verge of tears now. What kind of situation was this? Was this asking for her opinion?

"Then they will be your parents from now on. Quickly call them."

Xu Lisong and Jiang Ling watched their daughter's actions, truly surprised.

"Hmm!!!" Seeing she still didn't react, Xu Wen glared at her fiercely.

"Dad, Mom." After calling them, she glanced at Xu Wen, and only when she saw Xu Wen was satisfied did she breathe a sigh of relief. It was too terrifying.

The two of them also felt speechless. Was it appropriate to do this?

"Mom, Dad, let's go move her household registration."

"Alright!" Who cared? Jiang Ling really liked this daughter anyway.

With her appearance, she couldn't be a scheming child. They had enough discernment at their level to see that.

A year passed in the blink of an eye. She entered a remarkably prestigious public middle school in BJ City with a perfect score on her primary school graduation exam. It was a school that combined junior and senior high, and it was difficult to get in even with connections.

Xu Wen hadn't expected her to have such capability. She acknowledged her talent in music, but she never imagined that when she focused on studying, she would be so formidable.

She increasingly congratulated herself on her actions back then. It would have been such a pity if such high academic talent had been buried.

Because of her musical talent, Jiang Ling enrolled her in many training classes. As a ten-year veteran student, she found these training classes particularly boring.

The teachers themselves were university students studying music, and their skills weren't even as strong as hers. What was the point of training? In just a few sessions, she'd make the teachers feel inadequate, and they wouldn't come back.

When the three of them found out, they felt this was no longer just genius; this was a prodigy. They became even more determined not to waste her talent.

They pulled strings to find very famous professionals in the industry to teach her, though only in music. She also studied very diligently.

This year, free from financial worries, she began to awaken her silly, goofy, carefree nature. Simply put, she became broad-minded and easygoing, letting nothing bother her.

This was somewhat different from their expectations. All the magical things made them think this little girl was a super genius, but it turned out she was just a bit of a goofball.

How such contradictory personalities could be concentrated in one person was something they couldn't fathom.

"Dummy, how's your studying lately?"

"Sister! My name is Xu Zhiyou! If not that, you can call me Youyou. If that still doesn't work, you can call me 'Little Kid' again. Why do you keep calling me 'Dummy'?"

She was speechless. She might be a bit silly, but calling her that directly was somewhat impolite. Didn't she deserve some respect?

"Okay, Dummy!"

"Mom! Control your daughter."

"Hahaha~" She felt that this nickname was quite good; it was a term of endearment!

"I always thought you were quite clever, but your occasional silly moments catch me off guard. If I don't call you 'Dummy,' what should I call you?"

"I'm just being down-to-earth, alright?"

"Actually, there's no need to be so down-to-earth. You could be a little more aloof."

Speaking of this, Xu Wen remembered that this little brat started receiving love letters as soon as she entered middle school. In this regard, she was just like Xu Wen.

"By the way, no early dating, understand? Otherwise, I'll break your legs."

"Hmph! Who are you looking down on? Those little kids, each one dumber than the last. I don't play with idiots."

"Uh???"

"You're only ten yourself. How can you have the nerve to call those twelve or thirteen-year-old brothers and sisters 'little kids'?"

"Immature, that's what! What else could it be?"

Xu Lisong and Jiang Ling felt that ever since they brought her home, their house had become much livelier. She had a cold and beautiful appearance, but in reality, she was a goofball and talked a lot.

"You still haven't said how your studies are going?"

"Oh, right. Speaking of that, I don't want to go to school anymore."

"Why? Is someone bullying you?!" That shouldn't be! How could she suddenly dislike school?

"No, I just find it too simple. Scoring first every time gives me no sense of accomplishment. I've already learned all the knowledge in the textbooks. Can I not go anymore?"

Upon hearing this, Xu Wen just wanted to smack her. Although Xu Wen's grades were also very good, they were earned through countless all-nighters of hard study. Was what this guy said even human language?

"You, I really want to smack you to death."

Seeing her older sister about to 'fix' her again, she quickly hid behind her mother. This sister wasn't just hot-bodied; her temper was also particularly fiery. She'd use her hands rather than waste words!

"Mom, quick! Help, she's going to hit me again."

"You'd better rein in that bad temper of yours. She's not lying; when is she not first?"

Xu Lisong felt this was a problem and suggested, "How about letting her go directly to high school? High school offers various competitions, so she'll have something to do."

"Wouldn't she be too young? She's only ten!"

"That's true. Then let's enroll her in more interest classes."

"That works too!"

Xu Wen felt that learning those things that weren't very useful was not as good as following her to learn combat. When she grew up, she could protect herself.

"From now on, you'll learn combat with me during your free time."

"I don't want to! You just want to discipline me. I'm not going!" Besides, compared to the martial arts in her mind, what was so good about that shabby combat?

Xu Lisong was quite supportive of his daughter on this point. Didn't Xu Wen herself insist on going back then? Now the younger one also had to learn. Safety was most important.

Jiang Ling also felt it was necessary. After all, she couldn't protect her for life, so having more skills was better.
