52: Pulling Dumpling's Face

Kim Jennie saw their skit; they were both excellent graduates of the acting class, and they’d go overboard with their acting if they weren’t careful.

Kim Jennie smiled, and her cheek dimples became especially noticeable. Xu Zhiyou always felt an urge to pinch them when she saw them—too cute!

Acting on the thought, she precisely grabbed Kim Jennie’s cheek. “Haven’t touched it in a few days, still the same feel.”

Kim Jennie rolled her eyes, and with her cheek being pulled, she looked adorable no matter how you saw it. Kim Ji-soo couldn’t help but join in, directly reaching out.

“It feels so good. No wonder you like pinching her cheek so much.”

“Right? I’ve verified it, so how could it be fake? Here, I’ll share a side with you.”

Pulled by the two, she couldn’t speak clearly. “Ugh! Let go of me…”

Kim Jennie wanted to cry. Even her beloved Jisoo had started to knead her cheeks. Her future days were sure to be miserable.

“Show Ge, be gentler. You’re so rough, you’ve already left red marks. This is your wife; don’t you feel bad for her?”

“She’s my wife, so take your dirty hands off her. Please keep your distance. I hate women with no sense of boundaries the most.”

Kim Ji-soo was immune to her words. She had even talked about having children before, so a wife was nothing.

“Then I unilaterally declare her my wife. I’ll give her back to you when I’m done playing with her.”

Kim Jennie felt like she was struck by lightning. What kind of talk was that? Was she a toy? And a unilateral declaration? Had she even been asked before this declaration?

Park Chaeyoung and Lisa touched their own cheeks. It looked painful to be pulled back and forth by two people. They stayed far away; these two perverts were a bit scary.

After playing for a while, they started practicing. Until the night before their stage debut, none of the five, including Xu Zhiyou, knew how the song was performing.

Afterward, their phones were returned to them. It had to be this way; the effect was immediate. If they stared at their broken phones all day, their minds wouldn’t be on practice, and it would be a miracle if they saw any results.

“That’s enough. Play with your phones if you want, but there’s only one rule: skip malicious comments, or try to be open-minded. It’s normal for artists to be criticized; there’s no need to care!”

Originally, the company didn’t allow them to play with their phones, but who was Xu Zhiyou? If there was a policy from above, she had a countermeasure. Having lived a life like a spy drama since childhood, dealing with these things was simply too easy.

The four didn’t pay attention to her. Xu Zhiyou herself was the most irritable person, yet she had the nerve to tell them not to care.

They respected her in other aspects, but when it came to temper, any mosquito was much better than her.

After speaking, she went to grab a bottle of water to quench her thirst. She had been practicing day and night these past few days, almost to the point of exhaustion. As soon as she twisted open the water bottle, Kim Ji-soo slapped the entire contents onto her face.

“Show Ge! Are you taking revenge on me?”

“No, look at the digital chart performance of ‘Whistle’—it’s number one on the weekly chart by a landslide. We’ve become the first girl group to achieve this record with a debut song.”

“So, does this have any direct relation to you splashing me?”

“Yes, because seeing this made me so excited. I thought you were Jiaozi, so I slapped it over. It wasn’t intentional. Hehe~”

Kim Jennie felt truly unloved. This meant she could be slapped around casually. So many years of affection, yet in the end, it only brought harm. Alas!

“Hahaha! Soaked Zhiyou, what are you doing? You don’t need to hydrate like this, do you! Isn’t a face mask better than this? Hahaha~”

She wiped the water from her face and went over to kick Lisa directly in the butt.

Lisa, having been kicked, immediately shut up. Her voice had been a bit too loud just now.

…

The next day, before they left, their manager stopped them and handed each of them a handheld PD (portable camera).

Xu Zhiyou was a bit confused. Was it necessary to be so narcissistic? Filming everywhere they went.

“What’s this for?”

“It’s for ‘BP TV,’ the group’s reality show. It’s a vlog of all your schedules. Remember to film a lot.”

“OK!”

After getting in the car, the other four turned on their cameras and set them up, but Xu Zhiyou, finding it troublesome, casually tossed hers to Park Chaeyoung.

Park Chaeyoung subconsciously caught it and asked, puzzled, “Why are you giving this to me? I have my own!”

“Put it in your bag!”

Park Chaeyoung saw her casual demeanor and truly mourned for her manager. She had just agreed so nicely, only to toss it away instantly.

“But you promised to film a lot; at least make an effort!”

“No need. Just film the variety show well when the time comes. Running around with this every day is useless except for making your arm tired.”

“Uh!!!”

Park Chaeyoung silently put away her own as well. If she said it was useless, then it definitely was. Park Chaeyoung trusted her to the point of blindness.

“Chaeyoung and Show Ge, only the two of you need to hold them. This way, the footage won’t be too scattered, and the atmosphere will be more harmonious. Everyone having one makes it look like a family split, no need!”

“OK!”

Upon arriving at Inkigayo venue, all five of them were stunned as soon as they got out of the car. The waves of cheers made even her feel uncontrollably excited.

“Zoe, are these our fans? Do we have fans?” Kim Jennie seemed to be dreaming.

Their Instagram, YouTube, and other social media accounts were currently with their manager and would only be given to them after their stage debut.

They had no idea how many fans they had gained. They had been practicing day and night these past few days and hadn’t had the mind to care about such things.

Suddenly seeing a sea of fans coming to pick them up and drop them off for work felt like a dream.

“No, those are theirs!”

What an idiot. The support banners clearly said BLACKPINK, yet she was asking such a foolish question.

“You’re lying to me! The support banners clearly say BLACKPINK. Do you think I can’t read?”

“Aigoo! Dumpling Ni, you know you can read, yet you’re asking such a silly question?”

“Uh!!!” The four’s surging emotions were instantly doused by Xu Zhiyou. What kind of person was this?

She could hear their heartbeats from a long distance. How embarrassing would it be if they got too excited and fainted with a thud?

Fans were like their parents, so she couldn’t put on airs with them. Those who spend money were just that arrogant. Although Xu Zhiyou spoke tough.

She still had to back down when necessary. Who would go against money? That’s right, she was just that unprincipled and without bottom lines, hehe!

She switched to a grinning face and went over to coax them. Coaxing people was easy for her, having coaxed her own older sister since childhood.

“Annyeonghaseyo!”

She had just greeted them when a man interrupted her.

“Zoe, can you use those idiotic words you use to scold Kim Ji-soo and the others, and scold me? Please!”

Xu Zhiyou was utterly dumbfounded when she heard this.

“Hahaha~”

Kim Ji-soo and the other four burst into laughter, their stomachs hurting, seeing Xu Zhiyou standing there stunned. How deeply ingrained was this person’s idiotic image?

Their first words to fans after debut were actually this. They probably wouldn’t forget it until they died.

Seeing her unable to hold back, the scene immediately erupted in laughter. They felt that her soul was more interesting than her looks.

Which debut artist, upon meeting fans for the first time, would shamelessly go up and greet them, looking so cheap?

It made them both happy and helpless. Happy that their idol seemed very down-to-earth, but helpless that she seemed a bit foolish, with all her emotions written on her face, not hiding anything.

Many fans present had heard her conversation with Kim Jennie. It was truly interesting. Such a funny idol was really a first.

Xu Zhiyou, on the other hand, felt a toothache! Her desire to beat up the editor grew even stronger. Damn it, her magnificent and heroic image was shattered into pieces.
