29: Almost got beaten again

“And all those competition gold medals and certificates, so the top student was among us all along, and we actually treated the top student like an idiot. Wasn't that a bit presumptuous?”

Lisa recalled all the times they used to tease Xu Zhiyou, and now thinking about it, her face felt a bit hot with embarrassment.

“Let's not say anything yet. Jennie-oni’s misunderstanding of her is no less than ours. We’ll watch them both make fools of themselves then; it can’t just be us who are embarrassed, right?”

“Chaeyoung! When did you become so cunning? But I like it. Haha!” Lisa felt like she was getting to know her all over again.

Park Chaeyoung raised an eyebrow at her, “Come on, high-five!”

‘Clap!’ After the sound, two cunning monsters were born.

Not long after, Xu Zhiyou came back to call them for dinner. After a morning of traveling and being annoyed, they were finally eating. She decided to eat a few more bowls.

“Why are you back again?”

Park Chaeyoung, playing on the computer, didn’t even turn her head. She was taking advantage of the moment to have some fun and satisfy her craving. It had been a long time since she played Tetris; what used to seem boring now brought back memories.

“It’s time to eat. Aren’t you hungry?”

“Oh!” Although they were quite shy, they knew they had to go eat in this situation.

At the dinner table, they became two ostriches again, burying their heads and only shoveling food, which made Xu Zhiyou speechless.

With such a timid demeanor, how did she become part of that world-famous girl group? It was truly baffling.

“When are we going to Peninsula later?” Xu Wen asked, looking at Xu Zhiyou, who was just gorging herself on food.

With puffed cheeks, her words were slurred, “Tonight, I guess! This afternoon, I still need to take these two idiots to look around next door.”

Jiang Ling saw her eating like that and handed her some water, “Swallow it first before talking. Don’t choke.”

“Are you a hungry ghost reborn?” Looking at her two friends and then at her own eating, without comparison, there really was no harm.

They were speaking in English, so the two could understand. Hearing Xu Zhiyou call them idiots again, although they were annoyed, they could only hold it in.

They couldn't beat her in a fight, so what else could they do? The two could only silently pout.

“Youyou! I just discussed it with your mother. Why don’t you switch companies?”

Park Chaeyoung and Lisa, who were busy eating, were a bit confused by this. Peninsula had three major entertainment companies; they were very good! Why switch?

“It’s not time for domestic entertainment yet. I’ll come back after YG fires me. All I do now is fight, so getting fired is only a matter of time.”

Xu Lisong saw her reaction and knew she had misunderstood, so he explained.

“No, you misunderstood. I mean, you should go to your sister’s friend’s company. Although it’s small, they have enough resources for you, and most importantly, we’d feel at ease!”

There were also two YG trainees here, so it would be impolite to talk about the company in front of them.

Xu Zhiyou listened and looked at her older sister in disbelief, “Why didn’t you say so earlier? What does that mean? You made me eat grass for so long! If you had told me about this connection earlier, would I have had to fight and kill in YG all day?”

Xu Wen always thought she just didn’t want to rely on connections, but Xu Zhiyou’s skin was thick enough; all that talk about not relying on connections was just for show.

She simply wanted to go to Peninsula to jump around a bit. Who knew that domestic entertainment had so few stages, almost none? How tragic.

“Try glaring at me one more time?”

“Uh! My mistake, I shouldn’t have spoken so loudly, I’ll change.” Seeing her older sister put down her chopsticks, she instantly cowered!

“That’s more like it!”

Park Chaeyoung and Lisa watched Xu Zhiyou, who was incredibly timid, and found it almost unbearable. Outside, she was boisterous, proclaiming herself second only to heaven and earth, but at home, she became a docile cat.

However, hearing that she was going to switch companies still made them a bit reluctant, but it was her parents’ decision, so it wasn’t their place to interfere at all.

“I’m telling you, Sis! It would have been great if you had told me earlier that you had a friend who owned a company in Peninsula. Why would I have gone to YG then?”

“What did you say back then? I offered to introduce you to a company, and you said you weren’t used to people treating you like a queen. Now you’re blaming me instead. Are you asking for a beating?”

“That’s not the same!”

“When you went to my friend’s company, weren’t they still very polite to you? Tell me, what’s the difference!”

“I’ll tell you the truth! I just wanted to try performing on stage, but there are no stages domestically. You understand what I mean, right?”

“Ouch!” Xu Zhiyou, covering her head, saw her older sister grab a chopstick and throw it at her, “Why did you throw it at me?!”

“Are you trying to die? If you had said that earlier, would I have had to secretly send you to Peninsula? Do you know how much Mom and Dad have been nagging me during this time?”

Although she hadn’t been beaten by both parents, they constantly nagged her, saying she was irresponsible and such, for over a month. Anyone would go crazy.

Seeing the furious Xu Wen, she quickly ran behind her mother to hide. It was too terrifying.

“Is there a difference?”

“Tell me, if you had said that earlier, would Mom and Dad have stopped you?”

Xu Zhiyou thought about it; her family seemed to have never stopped her from doing what she wanted. “No!”

“Then if you had contacted my friend back then and gone there, would all these subsequent things have happened?”

“No!”

“You know there wouldn’t have been! Can your brain turn on once in a while? Aren’t you afraid it will rust if it’s off for too long?”

“Uh! You can’t make personal attacks, alright.”

“You, tell me, if you were simply stupid, I’d accept it. But you’re clearly very smart and just don’t use your brain. If you don’t want it, donate it, so I don’t get so frustrated watching you!”

“This thing can’t be donated. Otherwise, I’d donate it to you without a second thought.”

Her words were clearly meant to curry favor with her older sister, but coming from her mouth, they sounded so harsh. Wasn’t she implying that her sister had no brain?

She was also a top student, wasn’t she? “Do you think I won’t dare to hit you because Mom and Dad are here?”

“How could that be?” Xu Zhiyou, realizing her mistake, immediately transformed into a fawning Youyou, massaging her shoulders and back.

“Everything I said just now was the truth, uh no, it’s, I mean I really meant it for your own good. Oh dear, why am I getting more and more confused the more I talk?”

Seeing her pathetic state, she really felt like she would get a brain clot from anger. “You still want to switch companies? Keep eating your grass! Starve to death for all I care.”

“That won’t happen. I have a meal card. I eat big fish and meat every meal, and I even have steak to gnaw on. I won’t starve!”

“Hahaha~”

Watching the conversation between his two daughters, Xu Lisong couldn’t hold back a laugh. They could even argue to the point of splitting hairs; they were truly something else.

Xu Wen backhanded her with a big smack on the back of her head, “Go back and sit down, don’t come near me, my brain hurts!”

“Oh!” The two, sitting there with their heads down, shoveling food, had their shoulders shaking, looking like they were about to burst.

She used to sympathize with Xu Zhiyou for constantly getting beaten, but now, seeing all the things she did, she felt that the beatings were too light. Truly, one cannot judge everything by its surface.

“Dad, you’re still laughing!”

“Your mom is laughing too, why don’t you say anything about her?”

“Is she as loud as you?!”

Jiang Ling interrupted her from continuing, since the two of them were so joyful. “Alright, you two. You go contact them about switching companies.”

“No!” On the way, she had heard that her time at YG seemed quite miserable. If she switched to another company, wouldn’t that be letting her enjoy herself?

She’d just stay like this. Anyway, she wouldn’t die. Even if she died, so be it. This kind of sister was bad for the liver and lungs.
