149: Unlucky Ni

During the break that Jeong Hyeong-don and his team were introducing, Xu Zhiyou poked Kim Ji-soo and whispered, "Show Ge! Who told you to go to that Golden Fishery?"

"My manager, of course! Who else could it be? My time there was okay, but Irene's was truly cringe-worthy."

"You weren't much better; how can you make fun of others? Don't managers check variety shows before accepting them? Do they just let you go on any show?"

"You think everyone is like you, able to refuse if they don't want to go? What am I, a nobody? Do you think so highly of me?"

"Don't be so self-deprecating. You're not a nobody; you're at least as good as a kimchi."

"Yah!"

Kim Ji-soo raised her leg to kick, but Xu Zhiyou dodged, and the kick accidentally landed on Kim Jennie next to her, making her cry out in pain.

"Show Ge, you're so cruel! Dumpling Ni is so cute, and you actually kicked her."

"Move! It's all your fault." She went over to check on her.

Kim Jennie was wearing denim shorts, and even though it wasn't a hard kick, the Dr. Martens boot landing squarely on her calf still hurt a bit.

Kim Jennie was already afraid of pain, so it was good she didn't wail on the spot. Xu Zhiyou glanced at Kim Jennie's leg and muttered, "So fair and tender, looks like she's taken good care of it."

Kim Jennie was furious; she raised her hand and slapped Xu Zhiyou on the shoulder, almost making her tear up.

"Hiss! Are you made of iron? So hard, you hurt me so much."

"Idiot, you hit me on the bone, of course it's hard. Did you check the almanac before you left today? Your luck is terrible!"

"Go to hell! Couldn't you have pulled me away when you dodged?"

"Pull you for what? Show Ge saw you looking sluggish and wanted to liven you up..."

"Puhahahahaha~~~"

Kim Jennie was just quietly spacing out, and now her foot and hand were hurt; she was so unlucky. And Xu Zhiyou called it 'liven you up'—Xu Zhiyou really doesn't do anything helpful.

"Pfft~" Kim Ji-soo almost couldn't hold back her laughter when she heard what Xu Zhiyou said.

"I'm going to kill you..."

"It's our turn; change your expression. Have you forgotten that netizens said you look fierce? You not only look fierce, you're also violent."

"I..." She was so angry, she was trembling and cold. She was really furious.

When Jeong Hyeong-don said, "Welcome BLACKPINK," she did a lightning-fast face change, as if nothing had happened just now.

Xu Zhiyou was full of admiration. Indeed, real combat hones a person the most. It also proved that everyone in the entertainment industry is a smiling tiger; she needed to be more careful in the future.

Jeong Hyeong-don looked at Kim Jennie, whose big eyes were darting around and whose expression was particularly rich, and said, "Welcome, welcome! Jennie-oni, you seem to be in a much better mood on Weekly Idol. Are you that excited?"

"Of course! Hahahaha~"

"Oh my! Jennie-oni is a bit lively today. Last time, Yoo Jae-suk said you were quiet and unusually reserved. Did something happy happen today?"

"Pfft~" Park Chaeyoung quickly turned her head away, afraid she couldn't help but laugh out loud. She had indeed been listless just now, forced to wake up by a kick and a slap.

"Chaeyoung! What are you laughing at?"

They were in a small corner earlier, and the camera didn't catch it. Jeong Hyeong-don was busy hosting the show and didn't notice, but he found her behavior a bit strange.

"Ani! Maybe Jennie-oni's pet dog found a mate. Hahahaha~"

Xu Zhiyou thought, it had to be this silly one; her train of thought went straight there without warning, almost throwing out her old back.

Seeing Jeong Hyeong-don and Yoo Dae-joon's expressions, she knew both of them were confused too, so she quickly brought the topic back. They didn't understand, but they respected it.

"Jennie-oni! If you have a wedding banquet, remember to send an invitation. We'll all come to attend then."

"Uh???" How was she supposed to respond to that? Damn Park Chaeyoung, if she didn't kill her later, she'd take her surname.

While she was in a daze, Yoo Dae-joon turned the topic to Xu Zhiyou: "Zoe, this is your second time appearing on a variety show, right?"

"Yes! Both variety shows have been on Weekly Idol; it's fate, hahahaha~~~"

Yoo Dae-joon and Jeong Hyeong-don exchanged glances. Fortunately, this one seemed normal. If another crazy one came along, they would be in trouble.

"So, do you have confidence that this episode's ratings will surpass the last one?"

The last episode they recorded had the highest ratings and hadn't been surpassed yet. Jeong Hyeong-don was also curious about how this episode would turn out.

She couldn't guess about something that hadn't happened yet, so she just made something up: "It would naturally be better if it surpassed it, but I firmly believe that with both of you seniors here, it definitely won't be bad."

"Still as sweet-talkin' as ever. Let's get to the main topic. The first segment is the comeback song's singing and dancing. Are you prepared?"

She made an OK gesture, "A piece of cake!"

"Oh! That confident?"

"Of course!"

Jeong Hyeong-don saw her confidence and didn't doubt it, but as soon as the music started, it became a disaster. The music alone was enough to make the four of them flustered.

Now, with a 'shaman dance' inserted, the final result was everyone dancing their own way, with no synchronized movements or formations at all.

The four of them looked at her resentfully, making the staff next to them laugh uncontrollably. It's a variety show, after all, meant to be entertaining, and entertainment had arrived!

Jeong Hyeong-don couldn't bear to watch, "Hahahaha! Zoe! Come and rest for a bit. I'm afraid if you keep dancing, you'll get beaten to death when you go back."

"It's fine! The main thing is to have fun." Kim Ji-soo thought she had a point.

Following Xu Zhiyou, she started to improvise, grabbing her hair on both sides and bouncing around, even thoughtfully changing the song into a children's song version.

Park Chaeyoung also bounced along, while Kim Jennie and Lisa ran to the side and stood there. Both of them were still relatively socially anxious and couldn't integrate into a socially confident crowd.

Yoo Dae-joon saw them run to the side and stand, and said with a laugh, "Hahahaha! Jennie-oni, Lisa, why aren't you two dancing?"

Show Ge doing a rave dance, Yu twisting and turning, plus a wild and uninhibited Rose—they couldn't handle it, really couldn't handle it.

Lisa shook her head, "I can't. I haven't learned it."

"Even the main dancer hasn't learned it? Is this your comeback song?"

This time, Kim Jennie shook her head, "Never heard it! We're not taking the blame for this."

"Hahaha! It actually has a good rhythm. Jisoo really has some skills, but this dance looks a bit like a shaman dance."

"Hey, hey, hey! The music is wrong; this isn't our song." She couldn't say anything else, but Xu Zhiyou was 100% sure she hadn't touched the DJ dance music.

"That's right, seeing you three jumping so enthusiastically, I cut this specifically for you." Jeong Hyeong-don explained with a chuckle.

"Oh, that's too kind! We're here to promote our comeback song."

"Zoe! You know you're here to promote your comeback song. Thankfully, you wrote the song yourself. If it were another producer seeing their hard work so heavily remixed, they'd surely be furious."

"I don't mind these things."

"Producers are just willful. Let's move on to the second segment: Fan Calls. If you can do it, do it. If you can't, you still have to do it. What do you say?"

"If you ask me, it's simple: let's skip this segment! We're not masochistic people."

Jeong Hyeong-don felt she was full of gags and didn't need him to guide her carefully; there was a ton of show material. He loved recording shows with people like her—it was comfortable.

"You wish! Get ready to answer the first call."
