99: Massage
Xu Zhiyou felt like she was getting old, as if Lalisa didn't care about her at all. "Lalisa, are you looking for a beating? Do you really think I'm a masseuse?"
"You said I was so important during the day, but at night you don't care anymore. Is this how you treat me?"
"Stop, hold on, don't spread rumors."
Lalisa ignored her, still lying in the exact spot Park Chaeyoung had just occupied. "Massage the area below my shoulder, really work on it."
Xu Zhiyou struggled internally for a moment, then continued her work as a masseuse.
"That really feels good, a little lower, yes, yes, right there. Zoe, when you retire, open a massage parlor, I'll definitely be your regular customer."
"I wouldn't even be a masseuse for you. What are you thinking? What kind of people do I serve?"
"That's true. Ow, be gentler, that hurts a bit." She suddenly cried out when her lumbar spine was pressed.
"Lumbar disc herniation, at such a young age, you're truly something. Just bear with it."
"Ahhh! It hurts!"
Kim Jennie and Kim Ji-soo watched from the side, trembling. They had just thought about asking her for a massage too, but now all desire had vanished.
After a period of massage, Lalisa suddenly moaned. "Yah! Shut up, don't be so lewd."
"It's just so comfortable, and there are no outsiders here, so it's fine." She might have been shy the first time, but after that, she didn't care.
"Lalisa, is it really that comfortable?" Kim Jennie, seeing her reaction, wanted to try again, but the previous shouts made her hesitant.
"How should I put it? It's something you have to experience to understand, not something that can be explained. You'll know if you try it yourself." When it hurt, it really hurt, and when it felt good, it really felt good.
In the end, Kim Jennie and Kim Ji-soo also enjoyed the same massage package. These four bodies all had their share of problems.
They ate little, exercised a lot, and had irregular schedules. It was truly lucky they grew so tall.
"Dumpling Ni, you and Show Ge have the worst bodies. Go to the hospital for a thorough check-up sometime soon, or you'll suffer when you're older."
"It won't get better, so let's just leave it. Just give me a massage now and then. It hurts a bit, but afterwards, I feel much more relaxed. I never knew you had this skill."
Kim Jennie knew her own situation and didn't want to discuss it, so she changed the subject.
"Are you sure? Chronic overwork can lead to rapid aging. If you don't care, then so be it."
"Nonsense, don't scare me, I don't believe it." She said that, but still picked up her phone, searching for something.
Kim Ji-soo finished looking first. "Let's go, we'll go tomorrow morning."
It looked too scary; long-term overwork could also cause muscle damage and a series of other health problems...
She felt like she would disappear any second; it looked truly terrifying. It would be more reassuring to go to the hospital for a thorough check-up.
"What about me? My problems aren't that big, right?" Lalisa didn't feel much; her main thing was having a good body.
"How would I know? I only understand a bit about sprains and bruises. I'm not a doctor."
"Tsk, I thought you even understood medicine. You're nothing."
"Speak properly, or you'll get hit."
Lalisa forgot about Xu Zhiyou's habit of knocking people out. Now remembering it, she scrambled up and ran to her room, locking the door behind her.
"Crazy! I'm going to write a song; I suddenly have inspiration. Remember to go see a doctor tomorrow." After saying that, she also ran back to her room.
Just now, she had realized that she needed to write a few more songs to put together an EP. She had been debuted for almost four months and hadn't sung a single hit song.
When she went home for the New Year, she needed some capital to brag about; this wouldn't do.
"Can I watch?"
Kim Jennie had been tormented almost to madness during this period, deleting and revising, revising and deleting, over and over, which was quite torturous.
It would be good to observe how a master writes songs; if she saw enough, she would give up.
"Watch what? Go to the hospital for a check-up early tomorrow. There's enough time for the afternoon schedule."
"No, I must watch, please, okay?" She used her ancestral skill of acting cute.
"Whatever you want." Most of it she had already thought of before, so it wouldn't take much brainpower.
"Yay! Hurry up, I bought a set of equipment specifically for learning composition. Come to my room and use mine."
"Jennie, isn't this a bit extravagant? That set of equipment costs a lot of money; you're really willing to spend a fortune!"
"I earned it myself, what else would I do with it if I don't spend it?"
After saying that, she pulled her to the room, turned on the computer for her, laid out draft paper, and put a soft cushion on the chair, emphasizing thorough service.
"What are you doing? You're making me feel uneasy."
"Serving you, of course! Write!"
"Actually, there's no need!"
"Stop nagging!"
She pressed her into the chair, put the pen in her hand, turned her head, and stood by her side watching.
The songs Xu Zhiyou mentioned writing were actually all things she had thought of before. Now that she had the equipment, she might as well just make them directly.
She threw the pen aside and started operating the production equipment. "You're quite capable, you even know how to pick good brands."
"Mainly because it's expensive. Whether it's good or not, I actually haven't used it yet."
Kim Jennie was also frank; she couldn't even write a melody well, so she hadn't gotten around to the production equipment.
"Then did you buy it just to collect dust?"
"I put it here to motivate me to study hard; that way I have more motivation. Anyway, you'll be using it, saving you trips to the company, which is good for you."
Xu Zhiyou felt quite... what's the word? Are rich people all this capricious?
Kim Ji-soo also ran in, and the two of them watched her operate the equipment with a flurry of clicks and taps, looking incredibly smooth.
She didn't even look, simply reaching for the keys she needed, and with a flick of her finger, she could accurately find the right chords.
An hour later, she lifted her headphones and listened once. "Good equipment means high efficiency. If I used a computer, it would probably take me all night."
Kim Jennie snatched her headphones, saying, "Let me listen."
"Listen to what? This is just the accompaniment. I'm going to do the remaining two songs now."
"You have more?"
It was infuriating; she had been tinkering for so long and hadn't produced anything, yet Xu Zhiyou was so casual. It was infuriating and also very enviable.
Xu Zhiyou didn't pay her any mind. With the experience of the first song, the second and third songs went much faster. In an hour and a half, everything was done.
Seeing her putting away the equipment, Kim Jennie said, "Is that it? You could actually ponder it a bit more. You're hurting my feelings like this!"
"I've already written them; there's nothing to be hurt about. I studied at the music academy for so long, and you're just starting. You're doing very well; take your time."
The four of them actually all had creative talent, but Kim Ji-soo and Kim Jennie were too perfectionistic, and Park Chaeyoung was too shy to release what she wrote.
Lalisa, on the other hand, simply didn't care; her main focus was perfecting her dance, very dedicated.
"Then can you look at this new part I wrote? Never mind, I'll tell you after I finish writing it."
Kim Jennie thought about it and then gave up. With only a few notes, it felt a bit unpresentable.
"Okay, we'll talk about it next comeback. It's late, time for bed. I have to record songs tomorrow, remember to go see a doctor, okay?"
