87: Watch Weekly Idol
Looking at the song requests on her phone, Kim Ji-soo hadn't expected it to be so popular. She turned to Xu Zhiyou and asked,
“Have you decided when you’ll be making your solo debut?”
Xu Zhiyou thought for a moment and replied, “December 1st. That’s right after our comeback promotions end.”
Park Chaeyoung, hearing this, no longer felt like glaring at her. “Now is a very good time. The hype is high. A good song doesn’t necessarily guarantee success, so you need to seize the opportunity.”
“Oh, you’re not glaring at me anymore? I thought you’d ignore me for at least an hour. I didn’t expect it to be so fast.”
“Mind your business. Move over a bit, I want to watch too.”
“No, if I move over more, I won’t be able to see. It’s only about fifty minutes. Let’s watch quickly, then I’ll give it to you and Lisa.”
Park Chaeyoung could only compromise. She still preferred wearing headphones, and not hearing the sound felt a bit regrettable. “Alright then! Watch quickly, okay?”
“Arasso, don’t interrupt.” Kim Jennie pushed her head away, feeling a bit uncomfortable with her breathing near her ear.
During Weekly Idol, she was full of variety show charm, not caring about her idol image. The audience’s smiles never faded, and the comments were particularly amusing.
“I didn’t expect the charismatic Jennie and Lisa to be so adorable on the show. Is this what a rapline is like?”
“Jennie, let’s loosen up a little. This is really ruining Little Jennie’s image, boo hoo!”
“I like this more! So cute and lovable, especially the cat imitation part. Wow, I want to bite you! I really want to pinch her little cheeks, wahahaha!”
“I finally understand why Zoe likes to pinch her face so much. If it were me, I’d just hug her and gnaw on her.”
“So cute, I really want to sit on her and kill her, hahaha!!!”
“The one who said ‘sit on her and kill her,’ are you serious? You pervert!!!”
…
Xu Zhiyou saw the comment about sitting on Kim Jennie and killing her. She nudged Kim Jennie’s shoulder and said, “Dumpling, a fan wants to sit on you and kill you. What are your thoughts? Haha!”
“Jennie, there’s also one that says you’re no longer their Little Jennie. A single variety show ruined your image. That’s a bit of a loss!”
Kim Ji-soo didn’t have headphones, so she watched the comments very intently. When people on the live stream talked about her, she would just grin foolishly. This was entirely due to reading the comments.
“That’s why I said you can’t establish a persona. Look at Dumpling, she instantly went from a cool older sister to an adorable cat. How heartbroken those cool older sister fans must be.”
“You two are sick. With so many comments, you only focus on the ones about me? Didn’t you see your own? You’re not any better than me!”
“Jennie, Zoe and I both know it’s bad, so why would we look? Are you really stupid, or are you pretending to be?”
“Hmm, I think she’s really stupid!”
“Yah, you two are going too far.”
Kim Ji-soo saw Kim Jennie about to cry in the next second, so she quickly shut up and also covered Xu Zhiyou’s mouth.
The viewers on the live stream were a bit confused.
“What’s going on? Why are Jisoo and Zoe so scared when Jennie pouts?”
“Maybe they’re afraid she’ll suddenly bite them. Looking at Zoe and Jisoo’s carefree expressions, they must have said something about Jennie. Damn it, who can read lips? It’s so frustrating not being able to hear the sound.”
“I feel like Jennie is about to cry in the next second. It’s confirmed, Zoe and Jisoo are bullying Jennie, hehe~”
“Pouting Ni from Weekly Idol is online! She’s already got fish lips, yet she’s still pouting. Be careful, or they’ll stitch them up, wahahaha!”
…
Kim Jennie glared at the two of them, then continued watching. She found watching herself quite interesting, she just wasn’t satisfied with her own performance.
The dance challenge segment, due to the increased speed, was too awkward; she couldn’t even watch it.
“Skip this, it’s not good.” Xu Zhiyou also couldn’t stand it. Everyone was awkward, so it wasn’t right to single anyone out. They just skipped it.
“I think so too!” Kim Jennie was hit with a hammer during the dance challenge segment; it was too embarrassing, and she didn’t want to see it.
“Watch it, why not watch it? It’s just a little awkward, what’s the big deal?” Kim Ji-soo was completely nonchalant. The part where Kim Jennie got hammered was right there, they couldn’t skip it.
“Jisoo, this part isn’t good, really!”
Kim Jennie tried to melt Kim Ji-soo with an adorable expression, but it would be a miracle if Kim Ji-soo, a straight-laced person, could be swayed by cuteness.
“Jennie, I love watching you get hammered. We can’t skip it, haha~”
Xu Zhiyou also particularly loved that part. Their happiness was built on Kim Jennie’s suffering, and they were openly unashamed about it.
“That being said, I also love watching it. I remember she got hammered so hard it created memes. Fast forward, fast forward.”
“Yah!”
Neither of them paid attention to her. Kim Jennie could only rage ineffectively, then helplessly made a small request: “Turn off the comments!”
“Turn off what? The comments are the source of joy. How can we watch without them?” Kim Ji-soo immediately refused. After all, she didn’t make a fool of herself in that part.
“Sigh!”
Comments floated by in waves. Seeing that Kim Jennie wasn’t looking, Kim Ji-soo thoughtfully read them aloud for her, attracting Park Chaeyoung and Lisa as well.
“Seeing Jennie get punished with the air hammer on the show, it’s both heartwarming and hilarious. Her reactions are too real!”
“Jennie started screaming before she was even hit. Was she planning to scare Jeong Hyeong-don away with her screams?”
“Jennie’s reactions to being hit by the air hammer are a collection of memes. Every time I watch, I find new expressions, it’s so funny!”
“One hit, and she’s dead on the spot. Jennie must be thinking, ‘I can finally lie down,’ haha!”
…
The more Kim Jennie listened, the redder her face became. Finally, she couldn’t stand it anymore. She got up and sat directly on Kim Ji-soo. Didn’t she want to sit on her and kill her earlier? Now she would sit on Kim Ji-soo and kill her.
“Jennie, what are you doing? This isn’t the time to act cute!”
“Jisoo, you’re going too far! Who’s acting cute with you? I want to sit on you and kill you.”
“Hahahahaha~” Xu Zhiyou genuinely couldn’t hold back her laughter.
“Dumpling Ni, how much do you even weigh? You’re usually the one Show Ge throws around. And you actually think you can sit on her and kill her with that little weight? What are you thinking?”
Kim Ji-soo came to her senses and almost burst out laughing. “Hahahaha! Don’t make me laugh, I have a low laugh threshold. With your small frame, hurry up and sit back down, hahahaha!”
“Then I’ll bite you to death.”
Before she could even open her mouth, Kim Ji-soo pinched her lips. “Zoe, throw her back. Don’t interrupt me watching my phone.”
Xu Zhiyou easily scooped her up with one hand and pushed her back. “Chaeyoung, watch her. Don’t let her cause trouble, or don’t blame me if you don’t have time to watch later.”
“Chaeyoung, how dare you? Don’t forget who brought you up.”
“Uh! I didn’t do anything, I didn’t even say anything, Jennie-oni, what are you doing?” Park Chaeyoung was just watching from the side, and even that wasn’t allowed.
“Then it’s fine!”
