91: Come on stage

As soon as Park Chaeyoung came down from the podium, she screamed, “It’s killing me, this old lady! When this is over, I’m going to bend that iron frame. Ouch, ouch~”

Then she jumped onto Xu Zhiyou’s back, “Carry me over, it hurts too much rubbing against the injured part!”

“Chaeyoung, you really are something. Your eyes are on your butt; you never look forward, do you?”

“Ah, Jennie-oni, I’m injured, and you’re still scolding me.”

“Your leg is injured, but my spirit is injured. How embarrassing was I just now? It’s all your fault.” Kim Jennie was truly incredibly nervous and kept messing up her words.

Kim Ji-soo patted her shoulder and said, “You’re improving. It’ll be fine with a few more times.”

“We agreed that you and Zoe would take turns speaking from now on. What does that have to do with me? I don’t want to.” Kim Jennie absolutely refused.

“Ah! There’s an injured person here. Is this really the time for chatting?” Park Chaeyoung was truly about to die of anger.

“Aren’t we walking? You’re being carried by Zoe, and we can’t even say a word!” Lisa slapped her butt, and it felt quite good.

“Lalisa, try being mischievous again?”

“Slap~ Slap~ Slap~ Slap~ Slap~”

Lisa gave her butt a series of fatal slaps. The current Park Chaeyoung was a tigress without teeth; besides roaring, she posed no threat.

“Me, put me down! Even if this leg is crippled, I’ll kill her~”

“Stay put. If you twist again, I’ll throw you out. I’m very tired, alright? You’re really treating me like a horse.”

Lisa was also pulled away by Kim Ji-soo. These two had conflicting personalities and couldn't be together.

“Lalisa, you just wait for me.”

...

When they arrived backstage, they checked her. Most martial arts practitioners understand a bit about sprains and bruises, so these were minor cases.

“It’s nothing serious, just a scraped bit of skin. Next time, remember to watch where you’re going; you’re even more clumsy than me.” She disinfected it and massaged it.

“Your technique is good! It’s quite comfortable.” Park Chaeyoung hadn't expected Xu Zhiyou to have this skill.

“Really? Massage me too later; my shoulders are a bit sore.”

Xu Zhiyou saw the mischievous Lisa. If it weren't for how busy it was, she would have certainly kicked her. “Go wait over there. Are you treating me like a masseuse? Do you believe I’ll give you a kick?”

Kim Ji-soo pressed her down to sit on the side. It was truly unbearable to watch. She wasn’t even afraid of getting beaten. Kim Ji-soo herself hadn't enjoyed such treatment, so how could it be Lisa’s turn?

After massaging and reducing the swelling, it was pretty much done. She wrapped a layer of sanitary pad around it to prevent friction with the high boots, so there would be no impact.

The four of them watched her professional technique. It seemed she really hadn’t been beaten any less as a child. Such skilled techniques clearly came from accumulated experience.

“Zoe, what exactly did you do to your Unnie when you were little? Why did she always beat you?” Kim Ji-soo was genuinely curious.

“To give me self-defense capabilities, of course. Leaning on mountains, mountains fall; leaning on people, people run. Only when you’re strong yourself is it truly yours.”

“Actually, you could hire bodyguards.” Kim Jennie was most afraid of pain; if it were her, she would definitely be ruined.

“How do you know no one protects me? Haha!” With her dad being such a doting father, it would be strange if he could rest easy letting her wander around like this.

“You’re lying to ghosts, aren’t you? Where are they? How come I haven’t noticed?”

“Dumpling, I was just talking nonsense. Why are you so serious?”

“Hmph! I knew it.”

Xu Zhiyou was too lazy to bother with her. She watched the performers from backstage, and throughout the whole show, she had only one thought: luckily, she asked Lim Yoona back then.

Those wearing headsets were too miserable. The sound reception was so poor that good singing and dancing turned into shouting, which was quite pitiful.

Kim Ji-soo sighed, “Is the organizer that poor? The sound system and reception are so bad. Luckily, we brought handheld mics, otherwise, I wouldn’t dare to go on stage.”

“These are all experiences. Pay attention next time. Let’s go, it’s our turn. Also, Chaeyoung, are you okay now? If there’s a problem, I’ll help you clean the floor once.”

“I’m fine. I’m afraid of making mistakes, so no need!” They had developed a habit. If she didn’t react in time when switching parts, that would be a disaster.

“Then you be careful yourself. Don’t make your movements too big; watch out for rubbing.”

“I will.”

Park Chaeyoung thought to herself, that damn person, always teasing her. Although she seemed hateful, her unintentional care warmed her heart.

It wasn’t just Park Chaeyoung who thought this; Kim Ji-soo and the other three were pretty much the same. They were harsh with their words but showed extreme care in their actions, a rather awkward style of behavior.

...

Jumping down from the high stage, she immediately fixed her gaze on Lim Yoona. Not far away, she also saw Bae Joo-hyun, which gave Xu Zhiyou a visual focal point.

“Hey Boy~”

While singing, she even winked at Lim Yoona, with her mischievous side online, which left Lim Yoona speechless, but she still clapped along cooperatively.

Bae Suzy thought to herself, they’re exchanging glances like this and still claiming they’re not familiar? They’re just taking her for a fool!

But this visual was truly stunning. Wearing a sweater was already so eye-catching; if she revealed a bit more, what would happen then?

“Momo Unnie, is their dance like this? So lazy!” Kim Dahyun remembered the original version wasn’t like this. What was going on?

“Chaeyoung injured her leg, didn’t you know? They have fewer members, so adjusting the dance appropriately is fine. And I think the lazy version looks even better.”

“We don’t even know where Zoe’s bottom line is, let alone talk about her. Lisa is a YG Triple-A trainee, and Jennie is the recognized ACE. Putting them all in one group is quite extravagant.”

Lim Nayeon thought, these three individuals, taken separately, are capable of making a group soar. Putting them all together, she wondered what CEO Yang Hyun-suk was thinking.

“Uh??? ”

TWICE collectively fell silent. They only knew they were monster rookies; no one had considered this angle. If they couldn't become popular, then K-POP would probably be game over.

“Na-yeon Unnie, you really know how to chat, don’t you?”

“Tofu! A group of five people, with three ACE members, plus two ace trainees. It seems it’s not unfair at all to be beaten down, huh!”

“Can you stop being such a suck-up? Zoe can’t hear you. You’re the eldest, can’t you have some backbone?” Sana was really fed up with this ‘sixth member’.

Ever since she heard that if BLACKPINK surpassed all other groups, they might consider writing a song for her, she had become increasingly shameless, truly unbearable to watch.

“Sana, I’m stating facts. How is that sucking up?”

Chou Tzuyu suddenly said, “Rumors don’t hurt people; often, it’s the truth that stings the most.”

All of TWICE became even more silent. The maknae who delivered the finishing blow was indeed good at stinging hearts.

Mina put a hand to her forehead, looking at her members who seemed ready to ‘knife’ her, and helplessly said, “Ziyu, you also know how to chat. Please shut up quickly, or you might get beaten.”

...

Kim Yerim felt it was such a waste. Why was she covered so thoroughly? “Irene, is Zoe’s sweater outfit serious? Only her head is showing from top to bottom.”

“She’s pretty, so isn’t it fine for her to conquer the world with just her face? Doesn’t it look good? What’s the problem!”
