274: Chapter 274 Daily Life

She took off her shoes, rolled up her pant legs, and stepped into the pool.

The water wasn't deep, only reaching her knees.

She bent down, reaching her hands into the water to try and catch a fish.

The fish was very agile and darted away instantly.

Li Ying tried a few times but failed to catch any. Frustrated, she splashed the water. "These fish are too cunning!"

Han Yurou laughed. "Sister Li Ying, you're no good at this."

Li Ying glared at her. "If you're so good, you try it."

Su Yuling also took off her shoes and stepped into the pool.

She crouched down, hands in the water, remaining perfectly still.

When a fish swam over, she lunged and caught one.

Su Yuling held up the fish, smiling happily.

Li Ying looked at the fish in her hand, then glared at Han Yurou. "See? Yuling is better than you."

Han Yurou, feeling piqued, missed a few more times.

"I don't believe this."

Su Yuling handed the fish to Qin Lin. "Qin Lin, for you."

Qin Lin took the fish; it was still struggling and felt slippery.

He looked around and saw nothing to hold the fish, so he wove a simple rope out of grass, threaded it through the gills, and tied a knot.

The four of them stayed by the waterfall for a while longer, gathering some wild fruits.

Qin Lin scanned them with the System, and after confirming they were edible, he picked quite a few.

On the way back, Li Ying was in high spirits, singing as she walked, though she was incredibly off-key.

Han Yurou covered her ears. "Stop singing, it sounds terrible."

Li Ying laughed. "I'm happy, I'll sing if I want to."

Qin Lin watched the two of them bicker and shook his head helplessly.

By the time they returned to the RV, it was almost noon.

The others had also gathered quite a few things nearby.

Xu Xue had picked a basket of wild flowers, saying she wanted to use them for floral arrangements.

Lin Wanwan and Wang Xiulan had picked some wild vegetables, which Han Qing confirmed were edible.

Zhou Lingling and Zhou Yueyue had collected a pile of pretty stones, saying they wanted to take them back as souvenirs.

Qin Lin put the fish and wild fruits in the kitchen for Han Qing to prepare.

Han Qing looked at the fish and smiled. "You guys are something else, actually catching fish."

Qin Lin said, "We'll have fish for dinner."

At noon, everyone had a picnic on the grass.

Han Qing made a simple lunch using ingredients from the System Store, and with the fresh wild vegetables, it tasted great.

After eating, Qin Lin gathered everyone together.

"I have an idea. There's no danger here, the environment is good, and the air and water are great. I want to stay here for a while and see if we can wait until the first batch of babies is born."

Everyone went quiet.

Su Yuran looked at him with gentle eyes. "I agree."

Han Qing nodded. "I agree too. The RV is here anyway, and it's safe."

Li Ying raised her hand. "No objections from me; I'm following you anyway."

Zhou Lingling and Zhou Yueyue nodded. "We don't mind either."

Lin Wanwan stroked her belly and said softly, "I also hope the baby is born here."

Wang Xiulan took her hand and smiled.

Lin Xiaoyue said, "Sure, it's pretty nice here."

Lin Fang nodded.

Li Ran said, "I agree as well."

Su Yuling leaned against Qin Lin's shoulder; she didn't say anything, but the corners of her mouth were turned up.

Qin Lin said, "Then it's settled. We'll stay here for a while, at least until the first baby is born. During this time, we can set up a temporary camp to make life more convenient."

Han Yurou suddenly asked, "Then can I learn to walk here?"

Everyone laughed.

Qin Lin patted her head. "You're an adult, you don't need to learn to walk."

Han Yurou pouted. "I meant the baby."

Qin Lin laughed. "Right, the baby can learn to walk here."

In the time that followed, Qin Lin assigned tasks to everyone.

"Aunt Qing, you're in charge of medical care and meals."

Han Qing nodded.

"Yuran, you're in charge of resource management and distribution."

Su Yuran nodded.

"Aunt Ran, you're in charge of taking care of the pregnant women."

Li Ran nodded.

"The rest of you can do whatever you like, but don't wander too far and stay safe."

Everyone nodded.

Li Ying raised her hand. "I want to sunbathe here and get a wheat-colored tan."

Qin Lin quickly glanced at her. "Aren't you afraid of getting too dark?"

Li Ying laughed. "I want to get dark just to annoy you."

Qin Lin didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Xu Xue said, "I'm going to paint; the scenery here is wonderful."

Xia Qiuyan said, "I'll accompany Xu Xue."

Zhou Lingling and Zhou Yueyue said, "We'll go pick flowers and decorate the rooms."

Lin Wanwan said, "I'll continue knitting the sweater and try to finish it before the baby is born."

Wang Xiulan said, "I'll stay with Wanwan."

Lin Xiaoyue said, "My sister-in-law and I will go for a walk by the stream."

Lin Fang nodded.

With the assignments finished, everyone dispersed.

Qin Lin walked onto the grass and looked at the distant mountains.

Su Yuling followed behind him and took his hand.

Qin Lin smiled and patted her head.

Li Ran walked over, holding a packet of flower seeds.

She had bought flower seeds from the System Store and wanted to plant a Flower Garden on the grass.

"Qin Lin, can you help me find a place to plant flowers?"

Qin Lin looked around and pointed to an empty spot next to the RV. "How about here? Good sunlight and easy to water."

Li Ran looked and nodded. "Okay."

Qin Lin helped her turn the soil, and Li Ran sowed the seeds, lightly covering them with a layer of dirt before watering them.

She worked diligently, her movements gentle, as if she were caring for an infant.

Su Yuling crouched nearby, watching Li Ran plant flowers, and asked:

"Mom, when will these flowers bloom?"

Li Ran thought for a moment. "They should bloom in about a week."

Qin Lin watched the mother and daughter, feeling a warmth in his heart.

In the evening, the sun began to set.

Qin Lin sat on the grass, watching the sun slowly dip below the horizon.

Li Ying lay on the grass nearby, wearing only a sports tank top and shorts, spread out like a pancake.

"So comfortable. I haven't felt this relaxed in a long time."

Xu Xue sat beside her, having painted all day; on her canvas were the distant mountains and trees.

Xia Qiuyan sat on the other side, watching the sunset, lost in thought.

Li Ying turned her head and looked at Qin Lin. "Brother Qin Lin, do you think having the babies here is a bit too... rural?"

Qin Lin laughed. "What's wrong with being rural? The air is great."

Li Ying nodded. "True. Besides, the RV has everything; it's like staying in a hotel."

Xu Xue put down her brush and looked at Qin Lin. "Qin Lin, do you think... we'll always be like this?"

Qin Lin looked at her. "Like what?"

Xu Xue thought for a moment. "Just... everyone together, on the RV, traveling to different places."

Qin Lin was silent for a while before saying, "Perhaps."

Lin Fang and Lin Xiaoyue returned from the stream, holding hands, with Lin Xiaoyue carrying a bouquet of wild flowers.

"Sister-in-law, look at these flowers, they're so beautiful," Lin Xiaoyue said.

Lin Fang nodded, the corners of her mouth turned up.

The two walked over to the RV, and seeing Li Ran planting flowers, Lin Xiaoyue approached. "Sister Ran, are you planting flowers?"

Li Ran nodded. "Mhm."

Lin Xiaoyue handed her the wild flowers. "These were just picked, too. Here."

Li Ran took the flowers and smiled. "Thank you, Xiaoyue."

Lin Xiaoyue smiled. "We're family, no need to be polite."
