57: I need your help with something.

Morning inside the RV began with a constant temperature.

There was no morning light from outside the windows.

Only eternally falling snow.

But the RV's intelligent System simulated the natural circadian rhythm.

At six in the morning, the living room lights automatically adjusted to a soft, morning glow mode.

The temperature was maintained at a comfortable twenty-three degrees Celsius.

Qin Lin was the first to wake up.

This was a habit he had cultivated:

No matter how safe the environment, he maintained vigilance.

He quietly got out of bed, careful not to disturb anyone still sleeping soundly, and went to the cockpit.

The autopilot System was running smoothly.

On the display screen, the green route map snaked southward, having already left Su City proper and now traveling on a suburban highway.

The external temperature was -41.7°C, the wind speed 22 km/h, and visibility less than fifty meters.

In such weather, if not for the RV's adaptability and constant temperature System, no vehicle could drive.

Qin Lin checked the energy status: 2400/∞.

The energy display remained reassuring.

survival points: 669. This was currently the most crucial resource reserve.

At the bottom of the store, he saw a line of small gray text:

[Rank 4 unlocks more goods].

Five Intermediate crystal stones are needed... Qin Lin leaned back in the driver's seat, tapping his fingers lightly on the steering wheel.

Based on previous experience, crystal stones usually appeared in the core areas of extreme climates.

Around seven o'clock, Su Yuran and Lin Wanwan also woke up one after another.

Both of them were wearing comfortable loungewear.

All of it had been redeemed previously in the System Store; the material was soft and breathable, and the designs were simple.

Su Yuran wore a set of light gray short sleeves and shorts, while Lin Wanwan wore white long-sleeved pajamas.

"Morning, Brother Lin."

Su Yuran yawned and walked over to the kitchen area to start preparing breakfast.

But her single utterance of Brother Lin made Qin Lin's mind wander.

He had slept alone last night.

"They haven't woken up yet?"

Lin Wanwan looked toward room 003.

"Let them sleep longer," Qin Lin said. "They probably haven't had a peaceful night's sleep in the past month."

Lin Wanwan nodded and went to help Su Yuran prepare breakfast.

She planned to make a simple breakfast today:

Porridge, sliced canned ham, and a little green onion freshly picked from the ecological box.

"Yu Rou said she would be responsible for taking care of the vegetable garden."

Lin Wanwan said this while washing the green onions.

"That's very thoughtful of her; she wants to contribute to the team."

The two were silent for a moment, with only the sound of the porridge pot bubbling.

By the time breakfast was ready, it was almost eight o'clock.

There was still no movement from room 003.

Su Yuran smiled.

"Sleep is the best Recovery."

"Dr. Han's fever should have completely subsided."

"She might need to change her dressing again today," Lin Wanwan said.

The three of them ate breakfast first, and then went about their own business.

Although there wasn't much to do, finding something to occupy themselves with helped relieve boredom.

Time slowly passed.

Nine o'clock, still no movement from room 003.

Nine-thirty, still quiet.

"Should we wake them up?" Lin Wanwan worried slightly.

"Sleeping this long, they should be fine, right?"

Qin Lin shook his head: "Let them wake up naturally. Deep sleep is crucial for Recovery."

He could sense that the people inside were fine.

Finally, at 10:07 AM, the door to room 003 gently slid open.

Han Yurou walked out first.

She froze for a moment when she saw the three people in the living room, then immediately blushed.

"S-sorry, we overslept..."

"It's fine." Su Yuran smiled. "Breakfast is still hot, being kept warm in the kitchen."

Then Han Qing also came out.

She was leaning on a temporary crutch prepared by the Medical Room, her left foot suspended, clearly having difficulty moving.

But compared to her pale face yesterday, her complexion was much better today; color had returned to her cheeks, and her eyes were bright again.

However, a trace of embarrassment was also visible on her face.

"My apologies, we..." Han Qing paused, "It's been too long since we slept this well."

"I understand." Qin Lin stood up. "Go eat breakfast first."

Han Qing had already washed up inside the room.

She saw the facilities inside: instant hot water, facial cleanser and toothpaste that were brand new and unopened, and soft, fluffy towels.

All of this was too... normal. So normal it didn't feel like the apocalypse.

After washing up, the mother and daughter came to the living room.

Su Yuran had already brought breakfast to the dining table:

Two bowls of hot porridge, several slices of ham, and a small dish of chopped green onions.

"Have a seat."

Lin Wanwan helped Han Qing pull out a chair.

Han Yurou took a bite of the porridge first, and her eyes immediately lit up.

"It smells so good..."

After the apocalypse broke out, the school's food consisted of dry rations and canned goods, which were difficult to even heat up.

Their family's food reserves had long been exhausted.

Han Qing ate very slowly, but seriously.

Every bite was carefully chewed, as if she were confirming this wasn't a dream.

"How does your foot feel?" Qin Lin asked.

"Much better," Han Qing said. "There is slight pain in the wound, but it's bearable. The infection seems to be under control."

"Do you need to change the dressing after breakfast?"

"Yes. I can do it myself; the location of the wound allows for it."

Breakfast proceeded in a quiet atmosphere.

Han Yurou ate quickly; Han Qing reminded her several times to slow down and not choke.

The girl sheepishly slowed down.

After eating, Han Yurou voluntarily cleared the dishes.

"Sister Yuran, let me wash them."

"Alright, thank you."

Su Yuran did not refuse.

This was a way to let new members integrate into the team.

Han Qing, supported by Lin Wanwan, returned to the Medical Room to treat her wound again.

After removing the dressing, the suture site was clean and neat, with no signs of redness or pus formation.

She skillfully disinfected, applied medicine, and bandaged the wound; the entire process took less than ten minutes.

"The Recovery is excellent." Han Qing herself was somewhat surprised. "It's faster than I expected."

"The RV's Medical Room has an auxiliary healing function," Lin Wanwan explained. "Qin Lin said it came with the System and optimizes the cellular regeneration environment."

"System..." Han Qing repeated the word softly, then looked up. "Wanwan, may I ask you a question?"

"Go ahead, Aunt Qing."

"This RV," Han Qing looked around, "It has a complete survival System, constant temperature, plenty of food, and absolute safety. In an environment like this, why do you still need a doctor?"

She paused, then continued:

"I mean, if you just stay in the vehicle, don't go out, and don't encounter external dangers, medical needs should be very limited."

"At most, it would be colds, fevers, or minor bumps and scrapes. With the medicine reserves on the RV, an ordinary person could handle it."

"So, you go out, right?"

Han Qing looked at Lin Wanwan.

"You leave this safe vehicle and go into the outside world. And the outside world... is very dangerous."

Lin Wanwan was silent for a few seconds, then nodded: "Yes."

Han Qing nodded. This was similar to what Qin Lin had said yesterday.

They go out to look for crystal stones to upgrade the RV.

At that moment, Qin Lin also walked in.

He looked at Han Qing's foot.

"I understand," Han Qing said. "Then, as a doctor, I will do my best to ensure the health of those who go out."

"But I also need to know the frequency and Rank of the risks involved in going out, so I can prepare appropriate medical protocols."

"Of course," Qin Lin said. "Before every operation in the future, we will communicate with you."

The discussion came to a close.

Han Qing was helped back to the living room and sat down on the sofa.

Her gaze wandered around the compartment, from the tidy kitchen to the cozy living room, from the greenery of the ecological box to the equipment in the Medical Room.

Everything was too good, almost unreal.

But the discomfort emanating from her body reminded her of reality.

The clothes she had been wearing for nearly a month were stiff with dirt and smelled of sweat and medicine.

She might not have noticed while unconscious yesterday, but now that she was awake, as a woman who valued cleanliness, she found it unbearable.

Han Qing hesitated for a long time. She remembered that her daughter had already changed into new clothes.

Although she didn't know where they came from, the RV must have them.

But she had been rescued and relied on others for food and shelter; asking for more things now seemed ungrateful.

But ultimately, the need for hygiene overcame her embarrassment.

"Qin Lin," she spoke, keeping her voice as calm as possible, "I need a favor."
