49: Need a doctor? And she's a beautiful woman.
At nine in the morning, the door to the Master Bedroom of Unit 000 was gently pushed open.
When Qin Lin walked out, he looked radiant and refreshed.
His face, which had been pale and weak three days ago, had now regained a healthy glow.
There was spirit in his eyes, and his steps were steady and powerful.
It wasn't just because of the effect of the "Recovery" halo.
But also because of a certain... release of physical and mental pleasure.
Lin Wanwan followed behind him, a faint blush still lingering on her cheeks.
She kept her head down, her fingers unconsciously smoothing the hem of her pajamas, her eyes darting around, not daring to look straight ahead.
Her gait was slightly unnatural, but an irrepressible, shy, and sweet smile hung on the corners of her mouth.
When the two reached the living room, the aroma of food had already spread.
In the open kitchen, Su Yuran was busy wearing an apron.
A pot of soup was stewing on the induction cooker, bubbling with steam.
In the frying pan next to it, golden fried eggs were sizzling.
Three sets of tableware were already laid out on the counter, with a plate of sliced fruit in the middle.
Strawberries and blueberries just harvested from the ecological box were bright and succulent.
"Awake?"
Su Yuran turned around and saw the two of them, her eyes curving into crescents.
"Perfect timing, breakfast is almost ready."
Her gaze shifted between Qin Lin and Lin Wanwan.
It lingered for a second on Lin Wanwan's reddened face, and her smile deepened.
"Senior, take a seat."
Su Yuran took off her apron and walked over carrying the soup pot.
"Qin Lin, you sit down too. Breakfast is hearty today, to nourish your body."
She placed the soup pot in the center of the counter and lifted the lid.
It was chicken soup, with goji berries and red dates added, giving off a rich aroma.
She had specifically asked Qin Lin to buy the ingredients from the System Store yesterday.
Beside it were fried eggs, toast, fruit salad, and even a small dish of meat floss.
In the Apocalypse, this was practically a feast.
Looking at the table, a sense of warmth welled up in Qin Lin's heart:
"So hearty?"
"Of course."
Su Yuran served soup for the two of them.
"Someone worked hard last night and needs to be nourished."
These words were so blunt that Lin Wanwan's face instantly turned beet red, and she buried her head even lower.
Qin Lin, however, was composed as he took the soup bowl:
"You worked hard too, getting up so early to cook."
"I'm not tired."
Su Yuran sat in her seat, resting her chin on her hand as she looked at them with a mischievous glint in her eyes.
"I'm just curious—how was last night?"
"Yuran!"
Lin Wanwan was so embarrassed she almost jumped.
Su Yuran laughed. "Oh, Senior, what are you so shy about? We're all adults, and in this Apocalypse, well... you should enjoy it while you can."
As she spoke, she looked at Qin Lin again and winked.
"Qin Lin, what do you say?"
Qin Lin took a sip of the soup; it was delicious and at the perfect temperature.
He put down his spoon, looked at Su Yuran, and a smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.
"Comfortable."
He paused, then added, "With you too."
Now it was Su Yuran's turn to blush.
She hadn't expected Qin Lin to be so direct; she choked for a moment, then lowered her head to drink the soup, muttering softly:
"Rogue..."
Lin Wanwan looked at Qin Lin and then at Su Yuran, suddenly feeling like she wasn't so shy anymore.
The atmosphere among the three was subtle and harmonious; there was none of the imagined awkwardness, but rather a... strange sense of intimacy.
Breakfast proceeded in an ambiguous yet warm atmosphere.
Qin Lin ate seriously.
The chicken soup replenished his Qi, the fried eggs provided protein, and the fruit offered vitamins.
Su Yuran had clearly planned the meal carefully.
He could feel that after last night, his physical condition was indeed better.
It wasn't just the healing of his wounds, but also a renewed energy from the inside out.
Was this "Yin and Yang Harmony"?
He shook his head, brushing off this somewhat metaphysical thought.
After the meal, Lin Wanwan took the initiative to clear the dishes.
Su Yuran wanted to help, but was pushed away by her:
"You go rest, you worked hard cooking."
Su Yuran didn't insist and sat on the bar stool next to Qin Lin.
"Qin Lin."
She suddenly said seriously, "I've been thinking about something, and I think it's very important."
"What is it?"
"We're missing a doctor on the RV," Su Yuran said. "When I was changing your dressing yesterday, I thought that although the Medical Room is well-equipped, none of the three of us are professionals."
"Handling minor injuries is fine, but if we encounter a serious situation—like a fracture, infection, or... well, if someone gets pregnant and gives birth in the future, we won't be able to handle it at all."
Her voice lowered when she said "pregnant and gives birth," but Qin Lin heard her clearly.
He had also thought about this issue.
The "Many Children, Many Blessings" mission was permanent; sooner or later, they would have to face the issue of childbirth.
In the Apocalypse, without professional medical conditions, childbirth was like walking through the gates of hell.
And it wasn't just childbirth; everyday injuries and illnesses also required professional treatment.
"You're right." Qin Lin nodded. "We need a doctor."
"And ideally, a female doctor."
Su Yuran added.
"It would be more convenient for care. As for a male doctor... it would be inconvenient in many ways, and I wouldn't be able to accept it either."
As she spoke, she glanced at Lin Wanwan, who was washing dishes in the kitchen.
Qin Lin understood what she meant.
All the passengers on the RV were female now, so a male doctor would indeed be inappropriate.
Moreover, the System missions only targeted female passengers... "The problem is where to find one." Qin Lin frowned. "Su City is so big, the hospitals must have fallen into chaos long ago. Doctors are either trapped in hospitals, have already left, or..."
He didn't finish the sentence, but the meaning was clear:
"Or they're already dead."
"I know one."
Lin Wanwan's voice suddenly came over.
The two turned their heads and saw her walking out of the kitchen, wiping her hands.
"Senior, you know a doctor?"
Su Yuran's eyes lit up.
"Yes."
Lin Wanwan walked to the counter.
"She works at the City First Hospital and is a doctor skilled in both internal medicine and surgery. I tutored her daughter for two years and often went to her house; I'm very familiar with her."
"A doctor skilled in both internal medicine and surgery?" Qin Lin became interested. "That's perfect. Handling trauma and surgery would be her strengths."
"And she's very beautiful."
Lin Wanwan paused, her face turning red again.
"I mean... she's a very good person. She's not yet forty, but she's well-preserved and looks like she's in her thirties. Her personality is gentle, and her professional skills are very strong."
Su Yuran curled her lip and muttered softly:
"Another beauty... Qin Lin, are you looking for a target for your mission?"
Qin Lin neither denied nor admitted it, only asking:
"What's her name? Where might she be now?"
"Her name is Han Qing," Lin Wanwan said. "Before the disaster, she was at the City First Hospital. Her daughter is named Han Yurou, eighteen years old this year, just started university. As for now..."
Her eyes dimmed. "I don't know. I haven't contacted them since the disaster happened."
"But given Dr. Han's personality, if she's still alive, she would do her best to protect her daughter."
"She's either at the hospital—there are medicines and equipment there—or at home. Her home is in a high-end residential area in the East of the city, so there might be more supplies."
Qin Lin quickly analyzed the situation in his mind.
"Hospital: The advantage is the potential for medicine and equipment; as medical staff, Dr. Han might have stayed behind."
"The disadvantage is the high density of people, making it prone to conflict, and it's a large target."
"Home: Relatively safer, but supplies are limited."
"Also, if the disaster broke out while Dr. Han was on duty at the hospital, she might not have been able to return home."
"Let's check her home first," Qin Lin decided. "If she's not there, we'll go to the hospital."
He looked at Lin Wanwan. "Do you remember the specific address?"
"I remember," Lin Wanwan nodded. "I've been there many times."
"Alright then."
Qin Lin stood up.
