373: Chapter 373 Peach Blossom Spring
Qin Lin looked at her.
"Aren't you lonely?"
Su Han thought for a moment.
"Not lonely. I'm used to it."
Qin Lin reached out and took her hand.
Su Han's hand was very cool and smooth, with thin calluses on her fingertips.
She didn't pull it away, looking at him instead.
"Qin Lin, what are you doing?"
"Holding your hand."
Su Han looked at his hand; it was large and warm.
Her fingers slowly curled up in his palm.
"Qin Lin."
"Mm."
"Will you come to see me often in the future?"
Qin Lin nodded.
"I will."
Su Han was silent for a moment, then said, "Then you can let go now."
Qin Lin smiled and released her hand.
Su Han pulled her hand back, placed it on her knee, and lowered her head to look at it.
Her hand still retained his warmth.
"Su Han."
"Mm."
"You must look beautiful when you smile; smile for me and let me see."
Su Han raised her head and looked at him. The corners of her mouth twitched—it wasn't quite a smile, but it was much softer than before.
"I don't know how to smile."
Qin Lin smiled.
"It's okay, learn slowly."
The relationship between Qin Lin and the mother-daughter pair, Murong Wan and Murong Xue, had become an open secret among some people on The Ark.
No one said it out loud, but everyone knew.
Han Yurou said to Han Qing in the kitchen, "Mom, I told you Brother Lin likes this type."
Han Qing was chopping vegetables, the knife rising and falling.
"I don't know."
Han Yurou said again, "I think he does."
Han Qing put down the knife and looked at her.
"Why do you care so much? Where is Qin Yue?"
"Playing with Su Han in the living room."
Han Qing was stunned for a moment.
"Su Han is watching Qin Yue?"
"Mm, Su Han is teaching Qin Yue how to read. Even though she's cold, she's quite good with children."
Han Qing was silent for a moment, then picked up the knife and continued chopping vegetables.
She felt that Su Han was melting, not because of The Ark, but because of Qin Lin.
Qin Lin went to see Su Han every afternoon.
He would bring a pot of tea, and the two would sit by the window, drinking tea and chatting.
Su Han's words became more and more frequent, going from a few words each time to a few sentences.
One day, Qin Lin met Su Han in the Flower Garden.
Su Han was squatting in front of Li Ran's chinese rose, reaching out to gently touch a red flower.
Li Ran stood by, watching her without speaking. Qin Lin walked over and squatted down beside Su Han.
"Like this one?" Qin Lin asked.
Su Han nodded.
"Mm, red, very passionate, unlike me."
Qin Lin picked the flower and handed it to her.
"It's for you."
Su Han took the flower, looked at the chinese rose, and was silent for a long time.
Qin Lin smiled.
Li Ran stood by, watching the two of them, the corners of her mouth curling up slightly.
At night, Qin Lin went to Murong Wan's room.
Murong Wan was wearing that dark blue nightgown, her hair loose, leaning against the headboard reading a book.
Qin Lin walked over, sat down beside her, and took the book from her hands.
"Auntie Wan, Su Han smiled today."
Murong Wan looked at him.
"Really?"
Qin Lin nodded.
"Mm, although it was just the corner of her mouth moving, I saw it."
Murong Wan was silent for a moment.
"You are so attentive to her; do you like her?"
Qin Lin thought for a moment.
"It's not like; I just want to help her. She is too lonely by herself on The Ark."
Murong Wan looked at him.
"You are helping her—what will you do if you end up in bed with her?"
Qin Lin smiled.
"Auntie Wan, you're jealous again."
Murong Wan glared at him.
"I am not; I'm just reminding you that there are enough women on The Ark—take care of your health."
Qin Lin reached out and pulled her into his arms.
Murong Wan leaned against his chest.
"Qin Lin."
"Mm."
"If you find Su Han in the future, will you neglect me and Xue'er?"
Qin Lin looked down at her.
"No. You are you, and she is she; it's different."
Murong Wan pressed her face against his chest.
"That's good."
Qin Lin stayed in Murong Wan's room until very late that night.
When he left, Murong Wan was already asleep, her hand still clutching the corner of his clothes.
He gently released her hand, pulled the quilt up to cover her shoulders, lowered his head to kiss her forehead, and turned to leave.
The Ark continued to cruise through the Central Domain interior.
Qin Lin stood in the Bridge, looking at the star map on the holographic screen.
Murong Xue walked in and stood beside him, holding a cup of hot milk which she handed to him.
"Drink."
Qin Lin took the milk and took a sip.
"Sweet."
The corners of Murong Xue's mouth curled up.
"My mother told me to bring this to you."
Qin Lin looked at her.
"Where is your mother?"
"Sleeping; she didn't sleep well last night."
Murong Xue's voice wasn't loud, but there was an undertone to her words.
Qin Lin pretended not to understand.
She turned and left.
Qin Lin watched her back, the corners of his mouth curling up.
He picked up the milk and took another sip; it was sweet.
The starry sky of The Ark was slowly rotating; Qin Lin's journey continued.
Su Han was slowly drawing closer to him, and Murong Wan and Murong Xue were slowly accepting each other.
Under the gray-black sky of the Central Domain interior, The Ark sailed for a few more days.
Qin Lin went to see Su Han every afternoon, bringing a pot of tea, and sat in her room chatting.
Su Han's words became more and more frequent, from the initial few words to a few sentences, and from a few sentences to paragraphs.
The women on The Ark all noticed Su Han's changes.
Han Yurou said to Han Qing in the kitchen, "Mom, that cold sister doesn't seem so cold lately. She greeted me in the hallway yesterday and said 'Morning'."
Han Qing was chopping vegetables, not even looking up: "Mm, she has changed."
Han Yurou said again, "Is it because Brother Lin goes to see her every day and warmed her up?"
Han Qing put down the knife and looked at her daughter: "Why do you care so much?"
Li Ying, also on the massage chair, said to Murong Xue, "That Qin Lin of yours, he's been running to Su Han's room every day lately. Aren't you jealous?"
Murong Xue was Cultivating, opened her eyes, and glanced at Li Ying: "What is there to be jealous of? Are there few enough women on The Ark?"
Li Ying smiled: "You certainly have an open mind."
Murong Xue closed her eyes and continued Cultivating: "It's not having an open mind; it's that I can't control him. That guy, the more you try to control him, the more excited he gets."
Murong Wan said to Han Qing in the Medical Room, "Su Han has been much better lately; she even took the initiative to help me organize the medicine yesterday."
Han Qing was writing a medical record, looked up at Murong Wan: "Your daughter said the same thing."
Murong Wan smiled: "That Qin Lin, he has a way with women."
Han Qing put down her pen and looked at her: "You were also won over by him, so of course you say he has a way."
Murong Wan blushed and lowered her head, continuing to organize the medicine.
That afternoon, Qin Lin went to see Su Han.
He knocked on the door three times, and it opened.
Su Han stood at the door wearing light gray loungewear, her hair tied in a low ponytail, with no makeup on her face.
Her skin had a faint luster under the lights, and her eyes were very bright.
"You're here?"
Qin Lin nodded and walked in.
Su Han closed the door and sat down on the chair by the window.
Qin Lin sat down opposite her, placed the thermos on the table, and poured two cups of tea.
Su Han picked up a cup, took a sip, and put it down.
"I'm taking you somewhere today," Qin Lin said.
Su Han looked at him: "Where?"
"To The Ark's Void Storage Room, Peach Blossom Spring."
