408: Chapter 408 Lingxi

Ling stepped off the probe and stood in the sea of flowers, closing her eyes. "The energy here is very dense."

Qin Lin walked to her side. "Where is the energy crystal you mentioned?"

Ling pointed toward the depths of the valley. "Over there, about three hundred meters away."

The three of them walked into the valley.

The further they went, the denser the purple flowers became. There was a faint scent in the air, like floral fragrance, yet also like something else.

After walking for a while, Ling stopped. "We're here."

Ahead was a huge rock with a crack on its surface, from which purple light shone.

Qin Lin walked over and peered into the crack.

The crack was quite deep, about two meters, and at the bottom lay a fist-sized purple crystal, emitting a soft glow.

It was very similar to a source crystal, but the color was different.

Qin Lin crouched down. "How do we extract it?"

Ling walked to his side. "I'll do it."

She reached out, her palm facing downward.

The purple crystal began to shine. The light grew brighter and brighter, then transformed into a stream of purple light that rose from the crack and surged into Ling's palm.

It lasted for about a few minutes. When the last stream of purple light disappeared into Ling's palm, the crystal in the crack was gone.

Ling withdrew her hand. A ball of purple light danced in her palm, then slowly merged into her body.

Qin Lin looked at her. "How do you feel?"

Ling opened her eyes. "Very good. Even better than I imagined. The energy of this crystal is very gentle and matches my own energy perfectly."

Qin Lin nodded. "That's good. Let's go back."

The three returned to The Ark.

When Ling walked into The Ark, the women gathered around.

Han Yurou spoke first. "Sister Ling, did you get it?"

Ling nodded. "I got it."

She reached out, a ball of light purple light dancing in her palm. "This is the second type of energy crystal. It's different from a source crystal, but it's just as useful to me."

Su Yuran looked at her. "So, how do you feel now?"

Ling thought for a moment. "More stable than before. I can perceive much further away now."

She looked at Qin Lin. "And, I can feel the energy of every child on The Ark. Every one of them is glowing."

Qin Lin looked at her. "Glowing?"

Ling nodded. "Yes, every child is a little lamp. The more you give birth to, the more lamps there are, and the brighter I become."

The living room went quiet for a moment.

Han Yurou spoke first. "Then we'll keep giving birth!"

Liu Ruyan nodded. "Right! The more we give birth to, the brighter Sister Ling will be, and the better The Ark will be!"

Qin Lin looked at them and smiled.

He felt that he was not just on a ship, but in a home made up of countless little lamps.

Each lamp was a new life, and each new life made this home brighter and more full of Warmth.

Ling stood beside him, light purple radiance slowly flowing around her. The corners of her mouth were upturned, like someone who had finally returned home.

...

After the purple crystal was absorbed by Ling, her changes became even more obvious.

She could walk further, from the corridors of The Ark to the grass outside; her perception range expanded, from ten kilometers around The Ark to fifty kilometers; she could do more things, and began to guide the women on The Ark to Cultivate in more efficient ways.

One morning, Qin Lin was looking at a star map in the Bridge when Ling walked in. "Qin Lin, I have something to tell you."

Qin Lin closed the star map and looked at her. "Go ahead."

Ling sat in the chair beside him. "The purple crystal allowed me to achieve more Recovery of memories. I've remembered some things about myself."

Qin Lin looked at her. "What things?"

Ling was silent for a moment. "I used to have a name, a long, long time ago, but I forgot it. Now I've remembered it."

Qin Lin looked at her. "So, what is your name?"

Ling looked at him, the corners of her mouth curling up. "Lingxi, the 'xi' from morning dawn."

Qin Lin recited the name once. "Lingxi. That sounds nice."

Lingxi looked at him. "Thank you."

Qin Lin smiled. "You're welcome."

Lingxi's abilities were getting stronger and stronger.

Not only could she perceive people's emotions and physical conditions, but she could also perform some subtle interventions through energy fields.

One day, when Liu Ruyan was walking in the corridor, she accidentally sprained her ankle. Just as she was about to cry out in pain, Lingxi's hand was already pressed onto her ankle.

A wave of Warmth energy seeped from her palm into Liu Ruyan's skin. Liu Ruyan was stunned for a moment. "It doesn't hurt anymore."

Lingxi withdrew her hand. "Your ankle is fine. Be careful when you walk."

Liu Ruyan looked at her. "Sister Ling, were you healing my injury just now?"

Lingxi nodded. "A slight energy healing. I can only do this much for now, but it might get stronger in the future."

Liu Ruyan's eyes lit up. "Then when you can heal serious injuries, no one on The Ark will have to be afraid of getting hurt."

Lingxi was silent for a moment. "I will. As long as there are enough children, I can become strong enough."

Lingxi began to participate more in the daily affairs of The Ark.

She would help Han Qing take care of pregnant women, help Li Ying look after children, help Xu Xue tend to spirit plants, and help Su Yuran organize the supply list for The Ark.

She was like a brick, filling in wherever she was needed, but every time she appeared, things became smoother because she could see things that others could not.

One day, Murong Wan said to her in the Flower Garden, "Lingxi, you used to say you didn't have a home, but now you have one."

Lingxi crouched beside the Flower Garden and gently touched a chinese rose. "I know. I have one now."

Qin Lin discovered that Lingxi had started to smile.

Not the polite kind, with just the corners of her mouth curled up, but a real, heartfelt smile that was as full of Warmth as sunlight.

One day, she was playing with the children in the living room. Qin An ran over and took her hand. "Aunt Ling, will you play hide-and-seek with us?"

Lingxi crouched down and looked at him. "Okay."

She played hide-and-seek with the children in the living room. Her abilities allowed her to perceive the location of every child, but she pretended not to find them, making the children laugh happily.

Han Yurou stood nearby watching, then turned to Qin Lin and said, "Brother Qin Lin, Sister Ling is so gentle now."

Qin Lin nodded. "Yeah."

Han Yurou thought for a moment. "She can finally become herself."

That night, Lingxi found Qin Lin at the Observation Tower.

She stood beside him, watching the starry sky outside the window with him.

The Ark had already left that green planet and continued to cruise through the galaxy.

The stars outside the window were dense, like a handful of crushed diamonds scattered about.

"Qin Lin." Lingxi called him.

"Yeah."

"Thank you."

Qin Lin turned his head to look at her. "What are you thanking me for?"

Lingxi looked at him. "Thank you for waking me up, and thank you for the children you had with the women on The Ark. Every child is a lamp, and because of those lamps, I am able to stand here."

Qin Lin looked at her. "You don't need to thank me; you are also a part of The Ark."
