374: Chapter 374 No Need to Knock
Su Han did not know what Peach Blossom Spring was, but she did not ask.
She stood up and followed Qin Lin out of the room.
The two walked through the corridor, went down the stairs, and arrived in front of a door at the bottom of The Ark.
Qin Lin pushed the door open, and behind the door was a bright world.
Blue sky, white clouds, sunlight.
Grassland, Flower Garden, stream.
Mountains in the distance, trees on the mountains, and birds in the trees.
The air was filled with the scent of flowers and grass, and a Warmth breeze blew against her face.
Su Han stood at the doorway, stunned.
She had lived under the gray-black sky of the rift for too long, so long that she had forgotten that the sky was originally blue.
She walked into Peach Blossom Spring, her feet stepping on the grass; it was soft and had elasticity.
The sunlight shone on her, full of Warmth.
She raised her head to look at the sky, and tears slid from the corners of her eyes.
It was not crying; the tears just fell on their own.
Qin Lin stood beside her without speaking.
Su Han squatted down and touched the grass, stuck her fingers into the soil, pinched a handful, and brought it under her nose to smell.
Her voice was very soft: "It is not fake."
Qin Lin squatted beside her: "This place was brought by us from elsewhere, Peach Blossom Spring, inside the Void Storage Room of The Ark. During the apocalypse, we found this place and brought it into The Ark; no matter where we go, it follows us."
Su Han looked at him, light in her eyes. "The original place, is it your hometown?"
Qin Lin nodded. "Yes, very, very far."
Su Han stood up, walked a few steps on the grass, and then walked a few more.
She walked to the front of the Flower Garden and squatted down to look at those chinese rose plants.
Red, pink, yellow, and white ones were crowded together, blooming all over the fence.
She reached out and gently touched a red chinese rose; the petals were very soft and smooth. "Beautiful."
Qin Lin walked over and stood beside her.
"These were planted by Li Ran. She waters, fertilizes, and prunes them here every day; these flowers are like her children."
Su Han stood up and looked at the distant mountain. "Can that mountain be climbed?"
Qin Lin nodded. "Yes, I will take you up."
The two walked along the stream towards the mountain.
The path was not difficult to walk, but Su Han walked very slowly, stopping every few steps to look at the surrounding flowers, grass, and trees.
She saw a large tree with a thick trunk that required two people to hug; on the bark was carved a line of text: "Qin Lin and Su Yuling visited here."
The handwriting was crooked, but it was carved very deeply.
Su Han did not press for details.
The two continued walking up and reached the top of the mountain.
At the top of the mountain was a flat rock; standing on it, one could see the entire Peach Blossom Spring.
The grassland, Flower Garden, stream, and forest; in the distance, The Ark was parked on the grass, its silver-white hull gleaming in the sunlight.
Su Han stood on the rock, watching all of this, the wind blowing through her hair.
"Qin Lin." "Yes." "This place is truly wonderful."
Qin Lin stood beside her: "Do you like it here?"
Su Han nodded. "I like it, it is better than outside."
The two were silent for a while.
Qin Lin sat down on the rock, and Su Han sat down beside him.
The rock was cold, but the sunlight was full of Warmth.
Su Han lay down to look at the sky.
The sky was blue, with white clouds, one by one, drifting slowly.
She had not seen such a sky for a long time.
"Qin Lin." "Yes." "Lie down and take a look."
Qin Lin lay down beside her, and the two lay side by side, looking at the sky.
White clouds drifted overhead, and birds flew beneath the clouds.
Su Han reached out, her fingers lightly brushing through the air, as if touching those clouds.
"Qin Lin." "Yes." "Can you bring me here often in the future?"
Qin Lin turned his head to look at her.
Su Han's profile was very soft in the sunlight, her eyelashes long, her nose bridge high.
She looked at the sky, the corners of her mouth slightly upturned. It was not a smile, but it looked better than a smile.
"Yes, you can come whenever you want."
Su Han turned her head to look at him, and their gazes collided.
She did not dodge, and he did not look away.
The two looked at each other for a few seconds; Su Han moved her gaze away first and continued to look at the sky.
But her hand moved from her side to beside his hand, her fingers touching his fingers.
Qin Lin did not move, letting her touch him.
Qin Lin also reached out and took her hand.
Su Han's hand was very cold and smooth.
She did not pull it back, nor did she grip tighter, just letting him hold it.
"Su Han." "Yes." "Are you willing to stay on The Ark?"
Su Han looked at him. "I am already on The Ark."
Qin Lin said: "That is not what I meant."
Su Han was silent for a while. "I know."
The two were silent again.
White clouds drifted overhead, and birds flew beneath the clouds.
Qin Lin's fingers gently rubbed the back of her hand, and Su Han's hand slowly gained Warmth.
"Qin Lin." "Yes." "Will you come to see me often in the future?"
Qin Lin nodded. "I will."
Su Han was silent for a while, then said: "Then you do not need to knock in the future."
Qin Lin was stunned for a moment, then smiled. "Okay."
The two lay on the rock at the top of the mountain, looking at the sky.
Su Han let him hold her hand the whole time.
In the evening, Qin Lin returned to The Ark.
Murong Wan was waiting for him in the corridor, holding a cup of tea in her hand.
She saw Qin Lin walking over from the direction of the Void Storage Room, and the corners of her mouth upturned.
"Did you take Su Han to Peach Blossom Spring?"
Qin Lin nodded. "Yes."
Murong Wan handed the teacup to him. "Does she like it there?"
Qin Lin took the teacup and took a sip. "She likes it; she lay on the grass and watched the sky for a long time."
Murong Wan looked at him. "Did she say anything?"
Qin Lin thought for a moment. "She said, 'You do not need to knock in the future.'"
Murong Wan was stunned for a moment, then laughed. "She is telling you to enter her room whenever you want."
Qin Lin nodded. "Yes."
Murong Wan reached out and patted his shoulder. "You are really something; even the Ice Beauty has been conquered by you."
Qin Lin took her hand.
She pulled her hand back, turned, and walked away.
She walked a few steps and stopped again without looking back. "Come to my room tonight; I have something to tell you."
She left.
Qin Lin watched her back, the corners of his mouth upturned.
At night, Qin Lin went to Murong Wan's room.
Murong Wan was wearing that deep blue nightgown, her hair let down, leaning against the headboard.
Qin Lin walked over and sat down beside her. "Auntie Wan, what is it?"
Murong Wan looked at him. "What do you plan to do about Su Han?"
Qin Lin thought for a moment. "Let her adapt slowly; she is not the type of person who can accept many people all at once; she needs time."
Murong Wan nodded.
Qin Lin reached out and pulled her into his arms.
Murong Wan leaned against his chest. "Qin Lin." "Yes." "You cannot forget me and Xue'er just because you have them."
Qin Lin looked down at her. "I won't."
Murong Wan pressed her face against his chest. "That is good."
The two were silent for a while.
Qin Lin's fingers gently combed through her hair, and Murong Wan closed her eyes.
Murong Wan closed her eyes, the corners of her mouth upturned.
The next day, Qin Lin went to find Su Han.
He did not knock; he pushed the door open and went in.
Su Han was sitting by the window, Cultivating; hearing the door open, she opened her eyes.
Seeing it was Qin Lin, her expression did not change, but the corners of her mouth moved slightly. "You are here?"
Qin Lin nodded, sat down opposite her, took out a thermos, and poured two cups of tea.
Su Han picked up a cup and took a sip. "Qin Lin." "Yes." "I thought about yesterday all night."
Qin Lin looked at her. "What did you think about?"
Su Han put down the teacup. "Thinking about why you are so good to me."
Qin Lin waited for her to continue.
Su Han looked into his eyes. "Is it because you like me, or because I am a passenger on The Ark, and you have a mission to complete?"
Qin Lin looked at her; her eyes were very bright. "Both."
Su Han was silent for a while. "Then what do you like about me?"
Qin Lin thought for a moment. "You are beautiful."
Su Han lowered her head to look at her own hands.
Her hands were on her knees, fingers long and slender, nails neatly trimmed. "Qin Lin." "Yes." "I have never liked anyone; I do not know what it feels like to like someone, but I do not want you to leave. You come to see me every afternoon, and I am always waiting for you."
Qin Lin reached out and took her hand. "Are you willing to be with me? Not as passenger and captain, but as man and woman."
Su Han looked at his hand; his hand was large and full of Warmth.
She was silent for a long time, then raised her head to look into his eyes. "Okay."
