332: Chapter 332 Three People Board the Ship
Qin Lin controlled the probe to descend, lowering it in front of the young woman at the town entrance.
The probe hovered in front of her; it was a silver-white metal sphere the size of a fist, with pale blue energy patterns flowing across its surface.
The woman froze, took a step back, and placed her hand on the hilt of the sword at her waist.
Qin Lin spoke through the probe's speaker. The voice, translated by the System, became the common language of the Cultivation world: "Hello. We mean no harm."
The woman did not release her grip on the sword hilt; her eyes were fixed on the probe, her pupils slightly constricted.
She could sense that there was no Spiritual Qi inside this metal sphere, yet it hovered in the air with energy flowing across its surface.
It was not Spiritual Qi, but another kind of energy she had never seen before.
"What are you?" Her voice was tense, filled with wariness.
Qin Lin thought for a moment and said, "We have a ship that can sail through the starry sky and withstand the Wood Sun Dilemma of this world. We came to ask if you are willing to leave with us."
The woman's hand loosened slightly, then tightened again.
"Starry sky?"
Her voice carried a sense of bewilderment, as if asking, "What are you talking about?"
She had never seen the starry sky and did not know that there were countless stars beyond the sky above her head.
She only knew that Spiritual Qi was disappearing, Yao Beasts were increasing, and surviving was becoming harder and harder.
Although they were Cultivators, they belonged to the bottom tier and had no idea that there was a world beyond their own.
Qin Lin did not rush to explain, letting her digest the information for a while.
The woman was silent for a long time before she spoke: "What kind of help are you talking about?"
Qin Lin said, "The The Ark has a safe space, food, water, and a Spiritual Qi conversion System. You can come aboard to stay temporarily and return after the rift passes. If you are willing, you can also stay on the The Ark and come with us."
The woman released her hand from the sword hilt.
She looked at the probe, her lips moving as if she wanted to say something, but she didn't.
A voice came from the town behind her, hoarse and aged: "Qin Yue, who is speaking?"
The woman looked back, then turned back to look at the probe.
"Can you prove that what you said is true?"
Qin Lin thought for a moment, controlled the probe to spin in place, then rise, tracing an arc in the air as it flew above the town.
The projection System beneath the probe activated, casting an image into the sky.
A holographic image of the The Ark.
The silver-white hull and the golden protective shield were exceptionally striking against the gray, murky sky.
The image flashed and disappeared.
Everyone in the town saw it; they all stopped what they were doing and looked up at the sky.
Some gasped, some knelt down, and others thought it was a divine manifestation.
Qin Lin said to the probe, "The The Ark is in the valley to the south, not far from here. You can come to see it anytime."
The probe flew away, leaving the people in the town standing where they were, looking up in the direction it disappeared.
Three days later, the people from the town arrived.
Not all of them, but a few representatives, including the young woman wearing the pale blue dress.
She walked in the lead, her hand on the hilt of her sword, her pace neither fast nor slow.
Two people followed behind her, one in red and one in green.
The woman in red held a bowl, which was still empty.
The woman in green had empty hands but had a short blade tucked into her belt.
The The Ark was parked in the valley, its silver-white hull shimmering under the gray, murky sky.
The golden light of the protective shield enveloped the entire The Ark, like an inverted bowl.
The three women stood in front of the The Ark, heads tilted back, mouths slightly agape, eyes wide.
They had never seen such a thing; it was not a Magic Treasure, not a building, and not anything known.
Qin Lin walked out of the The Ark, followed by Su Yuran and Han Qing.
When the three women saw Qin Lin, they all instinctively placed their hands on their weapons.
Qin Lin stopped in front of them, a few steps away.
"Hello, I am Qin Lin, the captain of the The Ark."
His voice was translated by the System into the common language of the Cultivation world.
The leading woman, Qin Yue, stared at Qin Lin for a few seconds, then looked at Su Yuran and Han Qing behind him.
Su Yuran was holding Qin An, who was chewing on his finger in her arms. Seeing someone looking at him, he grinned, revealing six little teeth.
Qin Yue's gaze lingered on Qin An's face for a moment before shifting back to Qin Lin.
"You said the The Ark is safe, has food and water, and has a Spiritual Qi conversion System. Is that true?"
Qin Lin nodded: "It is true."
Qin Yue was silent for a while, then asked, "What is the price?"
Qin Lin looked at her.
This woman was very smart; she knew that there is no such thing as a free lunch.
He thought for a moment and said, "Let's not talk about the price yet. Come aboard and take a look first. You can stay as long as you want, leave whenever you want, and if you want to stay, I would be very happy to have you."
Qin Yue looked at him and saw no signs of lying on his face.
The woman in red behind her tugged on her sleeve and whispered, "Qin Yue, I'm hungry."
The voice was not loud, but it carried clearly in the quiet valley.
Qin Lin stepped aside, revealing the entrance to the The Ark.
"Come in, there is food inside."
He led the three women into the The Ark, through the corridor, and into the living room.
The long table in the living room was filled with steaming hot dishes.
Braised pork, stir-fried vegetables, fish soup, rice, and a bowl of fruit.
Han Yurou poked her head out from the kitchen, saw the three women, smiled, and then retracted her head.
The woman in red stood before the long table, staring at the food; her bowl almost fell from her hands.
The woman in green stood beside her, her hand gripping her short blade, but she did not draw it.
Qin Yue stood in the front, looking at the table full of food, and was silent for a long time.
Then she turned to look at Qin Lin and asked, "Why do you want to help us?"
"I said that I have a purpose in helping you. Whether you are willing in the end is entirely up to you; I will not force you if you are unwilling."
Qin Lin did have a purpose in seeking them out, which was for the System's Many Children, Many Blessings mission, so he did not intend to lie to them.
Qin Yue looked at him and was silent for a while longer.
Then she released the sword hilt, walked to the long table, and sat down in a chair.
The woman in red and the woman in green sat down with her.
Han Yurou brought out the last dish from the kitchen, a large bowl of dumplings.
She placed the bowl in the center of the table and said with a smile, "Eat up, there's plenty."
The woman in red picked up her chopsticks, picked up a dumpling, took a bite, chewed, and then tears fell.
She wasn't crying; the tears just fell on their own, unstoppable.
The woman in green put down her short blade and picked up her bowl to drink the soup.
Qin Yue did not touch her chopsticks. She looked at her two companions, her eyes reddened, but she did not cry.
Qin Yue lowered her head, picked up her chopsticks, and picked up a dumpling.
She ate very slowly, chewing for a long time before swallowing.
Then she put down her chopsticks, looked at Qin Lin, and said, "Thank you."
Qin Lin shook his head: "No need to thank me, you can just call me Qin Lin."
Qin Yue nodded and picked up another dumpling.
The The Ark began to accept the first batch of survivors from the Cultivation world who met the System's evaluation requirements.
Qin Yue, the woman in red, and the woman in green were just the first batch.
There would be more in the future. As for whether they would eventually be willing to perform the System's tasks, that would depend on their final choices.
Han Qing was busy in the Medical Room, bandaging, feeding medicine to, and examining the injured Cultivators.
Li Ran was helping in the kitchen, kneading dough, chopping vegetables, and making soup.
Su Yuran and Li Ying were arranging accommodations in the living room, assigning rooms, tidying up beds, and distributing daily necessities.
The children were playing on the play mat; Qin An was chasing Qin Yuan, Qin Yue was singing, and Qin Xu was taking apart toys.
The new children stood in the corner watching them, not daring to approach.
Qin Lin stood at the entrance of the living room, watching the growing number of women on the The Ark.
Fifteen children, fourteen women, and now three more people.
In his pocket, the white crystal stone was warm and non-luminous, lying quietly.
The woman in Room No. 15 was still asleep; Qin Lin did not know when she would wake up.
