376: Chapter 376 The Next Target
Qin Lin looked at her.
"I'm free, what's up?"
Su Han lowered her head and looked at the teacup in her hands.
"I want to go to Peach Blossom Spring again."
Qin Lin smiled.
"Alright, I'll take you there tomorrow."
The corners of Su Han's mouth curled up slightly.
Qin Lin reached out and took her hand.
Su Han didn't pull away; her fingers slowly curled up in his palm.
The Ark continued its cruise through the Central Region's interior.
Qin Lin looked at the star map on the holographic screen, with Murong Wan standing beside him.
The starry sky outside the window rotated slowly, and the energy of the distant rifts flickered in the darkness.
"Qin Lin."
"Hmm."
"Where is the next stop?"
Qin Lin tapped a point of light on the star map.
"There, there is a survivor with a comprehensive rating of 95."
Murong Wan looked at the point of light and was silent for a moment.
"You're going to pick up a newcomer again."
Qin Lin smiled.
"The Ark needs more people, the 'Many Children, Many Blessings' mission needs more passengers, and The Ark's upgrade requires more blessing points. I can't stop."
Murong Wan looked at him and patted him on the shoulder.
"Go ahead."
Qin Lin took her hand.
She turned and left.
Qin Lin watched her retreating figure, the corners of his mouth curling up slightly.
That night, Qin Lin went to Su Han's room.
Su Han was wearing that light gray loungewear, her hair loose, sitting by the window and looking at the starry sky outside.
Qin Lin walked over and sat down next to her.
"I'll take you to Peach Blossom Spring tomorrow. How long do you want to stay?"
Su Han thought for a moment.
"One day, is that okay?"
Qin Lin nodded.
"That's fine."
The corners of Su Han's mouth curled up slightly.
Qin Lin reached out and put his arm around her shoulders; she didn't pull away.
"Qin Lin."
"Hmm."
"Do you think the flowers in Peach Blossom Spring will bloom forever?"
Qin Lin thought for a moment.
"They will. As long as The Ark is here, the flowers will be here."
Su Han leaned against his shoulder.
"That's good."
The two sat by the window, watching the starry sky outside.
Qin Lin looked down at Su Han; she had her eyes closed, and her eyelashes were very long.
He lowered his head and kissed her on the forehead. She stirred slightly, mumbled something indistinct, and then fell into a deep sleep again.
Qin Lin gently moved her head onto the pillow, pulled the quilt up to cover her shoulders, stood up, and left.
The next day, Qin Lin took Su Han to Peach Blossom Spring.
The two sat on a rock at the mountaintop for the whole day, watching the sky, the white clouds, and the distant mountains.
Su Han had brought a book, a manual on cultivating spiritual plants that Murong Wan had lent her.
She sat on the rock reading, while Qin Lin lay beside her, looking at the sky.
"Qin Lin."
"Hmm."
"Do you think this world will get better?"
Qin Lin thought for a moment.
"I don't know. Perhaps it will."
Su Han was silent for a moment.
"Will we still be alive then?"
Qin Lin turned his head to look at her.
"Alive. The Ark will keep us alive."
Su Han looked at him; there was a light in his eyes.
She lowered her head and continued reading.
Qin Lin looked at her profile and felt that she looked much better than when she first boarded the ship.
It wasn't that her face had changed, but her aura had changed.
She was no longer tense or guarded, like a flower slowly blooming.
"Su Han."
"Hmm."
"You look really beautiful when you smile."
The corners of Su Han's mouth curled up slightly.
"I didn't smile."
Qin Lin smiled.
"The corners of your mouth moved; that counts as a smile."
Su Han looked up at him, the corners of her mouth twitching again.
"Like this?"
Qin Lin nodded.
"Yes, that's it."
Su Han closed the book, placed it on her lap, and looked at the distant mountains.
"Qin Lin, I will smile often in the future."
Qin Lin reached out and took her hand.
"Okay."
The two sat on the rock at the mountaintop, watching the sun slowly set.
Sunlight shone from behind the mountains, dyeing the entire sky an orange-red.
Su Han looked at that orange-red sky, remembering the sunsets she had seen when she used to do missions in the wild.
Back then, she was alone; now, there were two of them.
"Qin Lin."
"Hmm."
"Thank you."
Qin Lin looked at her.
"What are you thanking me for?"
Su Han thought for a moment.
"Thank you for letting me know that I am not alone."
Qin Lin smiled and squeezed her hand tighter.
The sun set, and stars lit up one by one.
Qin Lin and Su Han were still sitting on the rock at the mountaintop, watching the starry sky.
"Let's go back."
Su Han nodded.
The two stood up and walked down the mountain path. Su Han walked very slowly, and Qin Lin waited for her.
When they reached the Flower Garden, Su Han stopped to look at the chinese roses.
Under the moonlight, the petals of the chinese roses glimmered with a faint luster, as red as blood and as white as snow.
"Qin Lin."
"Hmm."
"Can we come back tomorrow?"
Qin Lin nodded.
"Yes, you can come whenever you want."
The corners of Su Han's mouth curled up slightly, and she turned to walk up the gangway.
Qin Lin followed behind her, watching her walk into The Ark.
The starry sky of The Ark flowed slowly, and Qin Lin's journey continued.
Su Han was slowly drawing closer to him, and Murong Wan and Murong Xue were slowly accepting him.
Everything was getting better.
The Ark flew for a few more days in the interior of the Central Region.
Qin Lin selected a new coordinate on the star map, and the System indicated that there was a survivor with a comprehensive rating of 95 there.
He set the course, and The Ark turned, passed through an energy storm, and hovered above the ruins of a collapsed Sect.
The scanning array showed that the target was in the basement, with stable vital signs and normal spiritual power fluctuations.
After a simple retrieval process, the door to the basement was pushed open, and a woman walked out.
She was wearing a red dress, the hem stained dark red by dust, but one could still tell the fabric was of high quality.
Her hair was very long, tied into a high ponytail with a red ribbon; there was dust on her face, but it couldn't hide her features.
Her eyes were large; she must look very beautiful when she smiles.
The aura of her cultivation was very stable.
[Target: Li Ruyan]
[Age: Approx. 25 years old]
[comprehensive rating: 95]
[Identity: Survivor of a medium-sized Sect]
[Status: Healthy, abundant spiritual power]
Li Ruyan looked up at The Ark; the silver-white hull shimmered under the gray-black sky.
There was no fear in her eyes, only curiosity.
She walked up the gangway, saw Qin Lin standing at the entrance, looked him up and down, and then smiled.
"You're actually quite good-looking."
Qin Lin looked at her, caught a bit off guard by her straightforward compliment.
"...Thank you, come in."
Li Ruyan followed him into The Ark, looking around the corridor.
She saw the automatic door, reached out to touch it, and the door opened. She let out a "Wow."
She saw the lights in the corridor and asked, "Does this not require Spirit Stones?"
She saw the energy patterns on the walls and asked, "What kind of Formation is this?"
Qin Lin answered her one by one, and she listened very attentively, nodding from time to time.
"You talk a lot."
Li Ruyan blinked.
"Is it bad to talk a lot?"
Qin Lin arranged a room for her on the east side of the corridor, next to Su Han's.
Li Ruyan walked into the room, looked around, and nodded with satisfaction.
"Not bad, much better than the straw pile in the basement."
She turned to look at Qin Lin: "Thank you."
Qin Lin nodded.
"Get some rest. Dinner is in the living room; you can go there yourself."
He left.
Li Ruyan stood at the doorway of the room, watching his retreating figure disappear around the corner of the corridor, the corners of her mouth curling up slightly.
