300: Chapter 300 Next, I'm Going to Dominate You

Previously, when Han Qing wore her white lab coat, there was still some room around her waist; now, the lab coat hung on her, empty and loose like a robe.

Her face had also thinned, her cheekbones much higher than a month ago, and her eye sockets were slightly sunken, but her eyes were still very bright.

Her fingers were thinner, her joints more defined, and the blue veins on the back of her hands were much more prominent than before.

One night, Qin Lin found her in the kitchen.

Han Qing was standing in front of the stove, preparing formula for the babies.

Several baby bottles were warming on the stove at the same time; she held one in her hand, pouring warm water, her eyes focused intently on the scale on the bottle.

Qin Lin walked up behind her and hugged her from the back.

Han Qing's body stiffened for a moment, then she continued pouring water without turning around.

Han Qing put down the bottle and looked down at her waist, her tone very casual: "Is it? I didn't feel it."

"It is." Qin Lin gestured at her waist with his hand, "There used to be some flesh here, but now it's gone."

Han Qing was silent for a few seconds, then she smiled: "That's because I was fat before."

"You weren't fat."

Qin Lin's forehead pressed against the back of her head, smelling the scent of her hair—not perfume, but the smell of disinfectant, faint but very clean.

Han Qing turned around to face him.

The kitchen light shone down from above, casting a soft glow on her face.

"Qin Lin."

"Yeah."

"Have I been... quite useful these past few months?" Her voice was very soft, carrying a hint of uncertainty.

Qin Lin was stunned for a moment: "You've always been useful."

Han Qing shook her head: "It was different before. Before, I wasn't pregnant. Do you think I didn't want to be? I wanted to have children for you too, but it's not something that happens just because you want it." Her voice trembled slightly, "Every day I watched their bellies get bigger day by day, do you know how that felt? It wasn't jealousy; I just felt useless. They were doing missions, having children, and contributing to this family. What was I doing? Aside from seeing patients and giving injections, I couldn't do anything."

She paused, her eyes slowly turning red.

"In these past few months, I've delivered thirteen babies, and not a single one had an issue; both mothers and children are safe. I feel... I finally did something useful."

Han Qing looked at him, her eyes red.

Qin Lin reached out and pulled her into his arms.

Han Qing leaned against his shoulder, and tears flowed down silently.

"Thank you, Aunt Qing."

Han Qing didn't speak; her hand gripped the corner of Qin Lin's clothes very tightly.

After a long time, her breathing gradually stabilized, and her hand loosened.

"Qin Lin." Her voice had a nasal tone.

"Yeah."

"Next... I'm going to monopolize you."

"Alright."

"The others won't say anything, will they?"

"They won't."

Han Qing raised her head from his arms and looked at him, her eyes and nose red.

She broke into a smile through her tears: "Then I won't be polite."

...

The next morning, Qin Lin was awakened by the sunlight.

Han Qing lay in his arms, sleeping deeply, her breathing even, her long eyelashes casting a fan-shaped shadow under her eyes.

Her face was soft in the morning light, and the tops of her cheekbones had a faint glow.

Her fingers rested on Qin Lin's chest, curled like a child's.

Qin Lin didn't move, afraid of waking her.

She hadn't had a full night's sleep in a long time.

From the birth of the first child until now, she had to take care of eleven postpartum women and thirteen infants every day, checking their health, adjusting their diets, and handling emergencies.

She was like a never-stopping spinning top, turning from morning to night, and from night to morning.

Qin Lin looked at her; there was a faint circle of dark blue under her eye sockets that hadn't been there before.

The corners of her mouth were slightly upturned in her sleep; he didn't know what she was dreaming about.

The quilt slid down to her shoulder, and Qin Lin reached out to pull it up for her.

Han Qing moved slightly, her face rubbing against his chest, murmuring something unclearly before falling back into a deep sleep.

Footsteps came from the hallway.

They were very light, but Qin Lin heard them.

The footsteps grew closer and then stopped at the door of the Third Floor. The knock didn't sound, and the footsteps moved away again.

Qin Lin didn't know who it was, but he guessed it might be Su Yuran, Li Ran, or perhaps Su Yuling.

They all knew Han Qing was here last night, so no one came to disturb them.

Han Qing slept until noon before waking.

She opened her eyes and saw Qin Lin still lying in bed looking at her, and she was stunned for a moment.

"What time is it?"

"It's noon."

Han Qing sat up abruptly, her hair messy and sleep marks still on her face: "Noon? Why didn't you wake me? I need to give them check-ups and feed the babies..."

"Aunt Qing." Qin Lin took her hand, "Take a day off today."

Han Qing looked at him, her lips moving as if she wanted to say something.

"You're resting today," Qin Lin repeated. "Aunt Ran and Yuling can do the check-ups, and they can feed the babies themselves. You don't have to do anything; just stay here."

Han Qing looked at him and slowly, slowly leaned back against the pillow.

The sunlight from outside filtered through the curtains.

Qin Lin turned on his side to look at her, reaching out to tuck the hair on her forehead behind her ear.

"Aunt Qing."

"Yeah."

"You don't need to feel useless from now on; on this The Ark, it wouldn't work without you."

Han Qing looked at him, her eyes turning red.

"You're saying that kind of thing again." Her voice was a bit hoarse.

"I'm telling the truth."

Han Qing was silent for a long time, then she smiled and buried her face in the pillow.

"Qin Lin, do you know what your biggest flaw is?"

"What?"

"You're too good with words; you make people want to cry."

Qin Lin smiled.

In the following days, Han Qing was forced to rest by everyone.

Su Yuran took the initiative to take over the daily check-up work in the Medical Room; although she wasn't a doctor, she knew the basic checks.

Su Yuling made an electronic document of the feeding schedule for all the babies, reminding the postpartum mothers to feed them according to the schedule every day—seven days a week, requiring seven reminders.

Li Ran was responsible for the night patrols, getting up two or three times every night to check if the babies were crying, if they needed diaper changes, or if their quilts were covered properly.

Han Qing woke up every morning to find herself with nothing to do, standing in the hallway in a daze.

"Sit down." Li Ying gave up the massage chair and lay back, "Soak up some sun."

Han Qing didn't sit but walked over to help her straighten her blanket.

"How are you feeling today?" she asked, habitually trying to put herself in the position of a doctor.

"Very well." Li Ying moved her hand away from the edge of the blanket, "Sit down and stop being busy."

Han Qing stood there, looked at her for a few seconds, and then sat down in the chair next to her.

The sunlight spilled down from the projection system, warm and comfortable on her body.

She leaned back and raised her head to look at the starry sky projection above, stars lighting up one by one.

"Brother Qin Lin told me last night that he’s going further north to find high-grade crystals."

"When?"

"Next week."

Han Qing was silent for a while.

"There are already over three hundred high-grade crystals on the The Ark, but it's still far from a thousand." Li Ying's tone was very calm, "If he doesn't go looking for them, he'll never gather enough."

Han Qing nodded.

"So just take these few days to rest well. Once he's gone, there'll be plenty to do again."

Han Qing didn't speak and turned her face toward the projection system.

Li Ying glanced at her, said no more, and also turned her face toward the projection system.

The two sat quietly like that, one leaning on the massage chair and the other sitting on the chair next to her, in front of a large expanse of simulated sunlight and the Peach Blossom Spring Flower Gardens that were always in full bloom under the light.

Later, Han Qing found an empty space next to the Flower Gardens and started a new nursery.

She planted strawberries, the seeds bought from the System Store.
