46: Some people need to be put on the agenda.

Over three days, with the blessing of the RV's "Recovery" halo, the wounds on Qin Lin's body healed at an astonishing speed.

The swelling from the frostbite had completely subsided, leaving only thin patches of pink new skin.

The abrasions and bruises left from digging in the snow had also disappeared.

His skin regained its smoothness, and the muscle soreness had vanished without a trace.

By the morning of the fourth day, Qin Lin sat up from the bed and moved his shoulders and arms.

He felt his physical condition was even better than before he was injured.

This was likely an additional effect of the halo; it wasn't just healing, it also brought a slight Physique enhancement.

“I'm completely better.”

He stood before the floor-to-ceiling mirror in the bedroom, looking at his energetic self in the reflection.

His face was ruddy, his eyes clear, and the weakness of someone newly recovered from a serious injury had completely vanished.

He clenched his fists, feeling full of strength.

During breakfast, Su Yuran and Lin Wanwan also noticed the change in him.

“Your complexion looks great.”

Su Yuran placed a fried egg in front of him, her eyes scanning his face.

“You don't look at all like that half-dead person from a few days ago.”

Lin Wanwan said softly:

“You recovered so fast...”

“It's the effect of the halo.”

Qin Lin sat down and began to eat.

“Plus, my Physique was already quite good.”

This was not a lie.

Having struggled for a year in the Apocalypse in his past life, although he died in the end, a portion of the survival instincts and physical fitness tempered by that extreme environment seemed to have returned with him after his Rebirth.

Combined with sufficient nutrition and rest during this period, a quick Recovery was only natural.

Over the past few days, he had also moved into room 002.

Since it had two beds, Lin Wanwan didn't have to sleep on the sofa to take care of him.

This had even drawn teasing from Su Yuran.

“But Qin Lin, you have to be on your best behavior. Don't go climbing into the wrong bed in the middle of the night.”

Qin Lin was a bit embarrassed by her words: “Am I that kind of person?”

“Who knows,” Su Yuran blinked.

“Men have plenty of energy; who knows what they might be thinking.”

These words were pointed, and even Lin Wanwan caught the implication, her face turning even redder... “Today we'll finish organizing the last of the supplies, and we'll set off tomorrow.”

“I've already planned the route. We'll head south for fifty kilometers to the outskirts of the neighboring city. There are several large farms and warehouses there where we might find crystal stones or supplies.”

“We'll listen to you,” Su Yuran nodded.

In the afternoon, Qin Lin officially moved his personal belongings from room 002 back to Room 000.

Now that his injuries were healed, it was time to move back.

He didn't have much—just a few sets of clothes and personal items bought from the System Store.

Lin Wanwan helped him organize.

By the time the room was tidy, it was getting late.

Dinner was prepared by Su Yuran, and it was more lavish than usual.

Braised canned meat, stir-fried bok choy freshly harvested from the ecological box, rice, and a pot of seaweed and egg drop soup.

She brought the food to the bar in the living room, and the three of them sat around it.

“To celebrate Qin Lin's Recovery and our departure tomorrow.” Su Yuran raised her water glass.

“Replacing wine with water—cheers.”

The three of them clinked glasses.

During the meal, the atmosphere was subtle.

Su Yuran kept looking at Qin Lin and then at Lin Wanwan, an 'I understand' smile in her eyes.

Lin Wanwan kept her head down the whole time, eating small mouthfuls, occasionally stealing a glance at Qin Lin before quickly looking away.

Qin Lin, caught in the middle, felt a bit uneasy.

After dinner, Su Yuran took the initiative to clear the dishes, humming a song as she washed them, appearing to be in a very good mood.

Qin Lin and Lin Wanwan sat on the sofa in the living room to rest.

The newly upgraded sofa was truly comfortable; the leather was soft, and one would sink right into it when sitting down.

Qin Lin leaned on one side, and Lin Wanwan sat on the other, separated by the distance of a throw pillow.

But soon, Su Yuran finished the dishes and came over.

She naturally squeezed in to sit on Qin Lin's right side.

Then she patted the empty space to his left.

“Senior, sit closer. Why are you so far away?”

Lin Wanwan hesitated for a moment, then moved toward Qin Lin.

Now, Qin Lin had Lin Wanwan on his left and Su Yuran on his right, sandwiched between the two girls.

He could smell two different scents.

From Su Yuran came a fresh citrus shampoo, while Lin Wanwan had a softer floral body wash scent.

“How does it feel?”

Su Yuran suddenly asked.

“What?”

Qin Lin didn't react immediately.

“The feeling of being surrounded by two great beauties.”

Su Yuran said with a smile, nudging him lightly with her elbow.

“On the left is a gentle senior, and on the right is a bright campus belle. Isn't it especially blissful?”

Qin Lin was a bit embarrassed by her bluntness, but he didn't back down.

“It is quite nice.”

“Just 'quite nice'?”

Su Yuran raised an eyebrow.

“Qin Lin, are your standards too high?”

“Back at school, people like me and Senior would have had lines of suitors stretching to the school gate.”

“Now that we're sitting on the sofa with you for free, you actually only say it's 'quite nice'?”

Lin Wanwan said softly from the side:

“Yuran, stop teasing him...”

“I'm just helping him recognize reality.”

Su Yuran said giggling.

“Qin Lin, so many people outside can't even find a companion right now. People like the two of us are hard to find even if you searched with a lantern.”

Qin Lin knew that, of course.

In the Apocalypse, survival was even harder for women.

Beautiful women either relied on the strong or used various methods to disguise themselves.

To be like Su Yuran and Lin Wanwan—able to stay clean, healthy, neatly dressed, and still talk and laugh—was as rare as a Phoenix feather or a unicorn horn.

And they weren't just pretty.

Su Yuran was clever and quick-witted, a fast learner whose cooking skills were improving rapidly.

Lin Wanwan was gentle and attentive.

These were all valuable traits that could increase the probability of survival in the Apocalypse.

“I know,” Qin Lin said seriously, “so I cherish it very much.”

These words made both girls pause for a moment.

The playful expression on Su Yuran's face faded, and her gaze softened.

“At least you know how to talk.”

Lin Wanwan, meanwhile, gently took Qin Lin's hand.

Her hand was small and soft, her fingertips slightly cool.

Qin Lin felt her fingers lightly stroking the back of his hand; the sensation was subtle, like a feather brushing against his heart.

Su Yuran saw this small gesture.

But she said nothing, only leaning back and nestling comfortably into the sofa.

“By the way, Qin Lin.” She suddenly remembered something.

“Your injuries are completely healed now, right?”

“Yeah.”

“Then...”

Su Yuran drew out the word, glancing at Lin Wanwan.

“Shouldn't some people be put on the agenda?”

Qin Lin's heart skipped a beat; what kind of phrasing was that?

He knew what Su Yuran was hinting at.

But she really was shameless.

Lin Wanwan's face instantly turned bright red, and her grip on Qin Lin's hand tightened.

What did she mean by 'put on the agenda'?

This... “Yuran...” she protested softly.

“Did I say something wrong?”

Su Yuran looked completely innocent.

“Now that Qin Lin's injuries are healed, he doesn't need special care. So next, couldn't we... hmm?”

She didn't finish, but that "hmm" was full of meaning.

Qin Lin coughed lightly: “This... there's no rush.”

“No rush?”

Su Yuran sat up straight.

“Qin Lin, let me tell you, opportunity waits for no one. In this Apocalypse, no one knows what will happen tomorrow.”

“If you like someone, you have to seize the moment. If you want something, you have to strive for it. Don't wait until you've missed it to regret it.”

She spoke very seriously, not sounding like she was joking.

Qin Lin looked at her, then at Lin Wanwan.

Lin Wanwan kept her head down, but her hand still held his, not letting go.

“Senior,” Qin Lin asked softly, “what do you think?”

Lin Wanwan looked up, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears but also with determination:

“I... I said, I'm willing.”

The words were very soft, but very clear.

Su Yuran smiled: “See, even Senior has said so. Qin Lin, what are you waiting for?”

Qin Lin was silent for a few seconds, then nodded in silent agreement.

Su Yuran nodded with satisfaction: “That's more like it.”

She stood up and stretched:

“Alright, I'm going to shower and sleep. You two... take your time chatting.”

As she spoke, she winked at Qin Lin.

Then she mouthed “Good luck” to Lin Wanwan.

She then turned and walked toward room 001, grabbed her bathrobe, and entered the communal bathroom.

In the living room, only Qin Lin and Lin Wanwan remained.
