336: Chapter 336 "Ark Passenger Guide"

Qing Yue's face flushed, and she quickened her pace as she walked forward.

In the living room, Li Ying was drinking coffee. Seeing Qing Yue walk out from the corridor, she nearly spat out the coffee in her mouth.

She set down her cup and watched Qing Yue approach, her gaze shifting from her face to her legs, and then back from her legs to her face.

"Good heavens, is this a long-legged spirit?"

Han Qing, sitting nearby, heard this, glanced at Qing Yue, and then at Li Ying.

"Aren't your legs long too?" Han Qing said.

Li Ying shook her head: "How can I compare to them? Their bodies have been nourished by Spiritual Qi; it's not the same thing as a body trained in a gym."

Qing Yue sat down on the sofa, brought her legs together, and placed her hands on her knees.

She didn't know what a "gym" was, but she understood the meaning behind Li Ying's words.

Li Ying was saying her skin was good, not because of exercise or skincare, but because her body had been cleansed by Spiritual Qi.

This was the advantage of a Cultivator, and also their only advantage in the apocalypse.

Qin Lin walked over from the Bridge, holding a tablet in his hand. Seeing Qing Yue sitting on the sofa, his footsteps slowed for a moment.

Qing Yue was wearing a light blue short-sleeved shirt and white shorts, her long hair draped loosely, not tied up.

Her legs extended from the edge of her shorts down to below her knees, then to her calves, and finally to her ankles.

Her skin was so white it was nearly transparent, emitting a faint luster under the lights of The Ark.

It was not a sickly white, but a clean, flawless white that had been washed by Spiritual Qi.

Qin Lin glanced at her only once, then averted his gaze, sat down on the sofa, and began to look at the route data on his tablet.

Li Ying sat next to him and leaned over to take a look at his tablet.

It wasn't route data; it was the Cultivation category product catalog of the System Store.

Li Ying reached out and pinched Qin Lin's waist. Qin Lin flipped the tablet over with an expressionless face, and the route data appeared.

Qing Yue did not see these small actions.

She just sat quietly on the sofa, her hands on her knees, looking at the gray, hazy sky outside the window.

...

After Qing Yue had lived on The Ark for seven days, all the indicators from her physical examination had returned to normal.

Her Spiritual power was no longer depleted, her Meridians had healed, and her malnutrition had improved.

Han Qing wrote the word "Healthy" in her notebook, closed it, and said to Qing Yue:

"There are no problems with your body anymore; you can start living a normal life."

Qing Yue looked at her: "What does 'living a normal life' mean?"

Han Qing thought for a moment: "It means you don't have to eat nutritional meals anymore; you can eat the same food as us, you can move freely in any area of The Ark, except for Room No. 15, you can Cultivate, you can take care of the children, and you can do anything you want."

Qing Yue nodded and turned to leave.

She walked into the corridor and stood in front of the door of Room No. 15 for a while.

The door was still closed, and that layer of mist was still there, but it was a bit thinner than a few days ago.

She didn't know what this meant, but she didn't ask, because she knew Qin Lin wouldn't answer.

The days on The Ark started to become less tense.

Qing Yue discovered that The Ark wouldn't suddenly collapse, Hong Yao discovered that three meals a day wouldn't be cut off, and Qing He discovered that what Qin Lin said about "you can leave whenever you want" was true.

She stood at the entrance of The Ark for a while, and no one stopped her.

But she didn't leave, because she didn't know where to go.

On the ground, it was the apocalypse, and Yao Beasts were increasing; if she went back, she would just die.

On the evening of the fourth day, Qin Lin called the three of them to the living room.

There was no one else in the living room; even the children had been taken back to their rooms by their respective mothers.

Qing Yue sat on the sofa, with Hong Yao and Qing He sitting on either side of her.

Qin Lin sat opposite them, with a pot of tea and several cups placed in front of him.

"You have lived on The Ark for a few days now; how do you feel?"

Qing Yue thought for a moment and said: "It's very good; there is food and drink, and it's safe."

Qin Lin nodded and poured a cup of tea for each of them.

The tea was hot and fragrant.

Hong Yao picked up the cup and took a sip, and it was so hot she hissed.

"I have said before, The Ark does not support idlers." Qin Lin put down the teapot and looked at them.

Qing Yue's hand paused, Hong Yao put down her cup, and Qing He's hand pressed onto her short blade.

The expressions of the three changed, but it was not fear.

Qing Yue's gaze became sharper, as if she were waiting for an answer she had long anticipated.

"What do you want?"

Qin Lin did not answer directly; he bought a copy of "The Ark Passenger Guide" from the System Store and handed it to Qing Yue.

Qing Yue took it and opened it, and Hong Yao and Qing He leaned over to look together.

The guide was written in the common language of the Cultivation World, and the System automatically translated it.

Qing Yue flipped through it page by page, Hong Yao read it word by word, and Qing He only looked at the pictures.

Flipping to the back, Qing Yue's hand stopped. She saw that chapter.

"Duties and Tasks of The Ark Passengers".

Qing Yue looked at that page for a long time, then closed the guide and looked up at Qin Lin.

There was no anger or shame in her expression, only a calmness of "as expected."

"Giving birth to children," she said, her voice not loud, but very clear, "Is this the condition?"

Qin Lin looked at her; there were no ripples in her eyes.

It was not that she didn't care; it was that those who survived in the apocalypse had long ago learned to hide the things they cared about very, very deeply.

"Yes," Qin Lin said, "This is the rule on The Ark. All passengers must abide by it."

Qing Yue placed the guide on the coffee table, her fingers gently stroking the cover.

Hong Yao lowered her head, not knowing what she was thinking.

Qing He's hand moved away from the short blade; she leaned back on the sofa, looking at the ceiling, with no expression on her face.

Qing Yue looked up at him: "What if we don't participate?"

"If you don't participate, you can still stay on The Ark. The Ark is not short of food and water; it makes no difference whether there are a few more or a few less people. But if you don't participate, you cannot use the Transformation Room, your cultivation can only rely on your own Cultivation, and The Ark will not provide any additional resources."

Qing Yue nodded and did not ask again.

She didn't need time to consider, because she had known the answer long ago.

In this apocalypse, on The Ark, being alive is the greatest gift.

Qin Lin gave them food, water, safety, and a place that could shelter them from the wind and rain.

The return he wanted was not money, not Spirit Stones, not Magic Treasures, but them themselves.

This was the most normal thing in the Cultivation World.

In the Cultivation World, in order to compete for resources, Cultivators could kill, commit arson, and exterminate entire families.

In order to survive, examples of female Cultivators relying on the strong, offering their bodies, and even selling their Souls abound.

Qing Yue had seen too many such examples, and she herself had almost become one of them.

Before the disaster occurred, some people had already had designs on her, but she did not agree.

But that was in the past.

Before, she had a choice; now, she did not.

"I agree." Qing Yue's voice was not loud, but very clear.

Hong Yao and Qing He looked at her at the same time.
