343: Chapter 343 Three People Preparing for Pregnancy

Another night.

It was late at night when Qin Lin came out of Qing Yue's room.

The night lights in the hallway were dimmed, the dim, yellow light barely illuminating the path under his feet.

He leaned against the wall and closed his eyes for a moment; the crystal stone in his pocket was warm, not emitting any light.

The Ark was slowly sailing in the orbit outside the cultivation planet, like a silent satellite.

Qin Lin was in no hurry to leave this planet because the System indicated that there were still many female survivors who met the rating requirements.

The Ark needed more passengers, and the mission needed more people to complete it.

He planned to orbit the planet for a while, waiting for the woman in Room No. 15 to wake up while looking for the next target.

The System popped up a new prompt box.

[Mission Prompt: "Many Children, Many Blessings" Phase 2]

[Current Progress: Bonds formed with 3 people, 0 pregnancies]

[Suggestion: Focus on advancing the pregnancy mission; each new pregnant woman will grant a large reward of blessing points]

[The System has detected the conception windows for Qing Yue, Hong Yao, and Qing He; it is recommended to arrange cohabitation according to the following frequency...]

Qin Lin looked at the data on the screen, which was accurate to the hour, and reached out to rub his temples.

The System had arranged this matter like a scientific experiment; the time, the frequency, and the position were all calculated clearly.

He closed the prompt box and turned back to Qing Yue's room.

Qing Yue had already bathed; her hair was still wet, draped over her shoulders.

She was wearing a white nightgown, sitting on the edge of the bed reading a book.

Seeing Qin Lin enter, she did not look up and continued to turn a page.

"The System notified you, right?" Qin Lin sat down beside her.

Ever since everyone knew about the mission, Qin Lin had shared some of the System's messages with the passengers to avoid having to repeat them himself.

"It notified me." Qing Yue turned the page. "Conception window, optimal time, frequency of cohabitation—it's written in great detail."

"What do you think?"

Qing Yue finally looked up at him, was silent for a moment, and said: "Let's just do it."

Qin Lin was stunned for a moment, expecting more hesitation or at least a bit of shyness from her.

But Qing Yue's expression was very calm; she closed the book, placed it on the nightstand, turned to face him, and reached out to undo the buttons of her nightgown.

"Get pregnant early, complete the mission early, get the blessing points early. There are still many people on The Ark who need cultivation conversion; it wouldn't be right for the three of us to occupy resources without producing results."

Qin Lin looked at her, not knowing what to say.

Qing Yue's logic was as clear as the Cultivation Technique she practiced; every step was calculated, wasting neither time nor emotion.

He reached out and took her hand.

"Qing Yue, this isn't a mission; this is having a child. Are you willing?"

Qing Yue looked at him, was silent for a long time, and then said: "I am willing, not because of the mission, but because of the child."

Qin Lin looked at her; her eyes were bright and did not dodge.

He lowered his head and kissed her. Qing Yue closed her eyes, her hands resting on his shoulders.

That night, Qin Lin did not leave Qing Yue's room.

He followed the frequency suggested by the System: once, twice, three times.

Qing Yue was very cooperative throughout, not calling to stop, nor urging him on.

Afterwards, she leaned in his arms, her fingers drawing circles on his chest.

"Qin Lin."

"Hmm."

"Do you think the child will be born on The Ark?"

"Yes."

Qing Yue was silent for a while, then said: "It's safer than on the surface. On the surface, there are Yao Beasts, rifts, and starving Cultivators. On The Ark, there is nothing but food and safety."

Qin Lin hugged her tighter, his chin resting on the top of her head. Qing Yue's hair was still wet, carrying the faint scent of shampoo.

Hong Yao's reaction was completely different from Qing Yue's.

When Qin Lin walked into her room, Hong Yao was sitting on the bed with a pile of things spread out in front of her.

Small clothes, small shoes, small hats bought from the System Store—pink, blue, yellow—piled up all over the bed.

She held a small pink outfit, measuring it against herself, then put it down and picked up another.

"What are you doing?"

Hong Yao looked up and saw him, her face flushing instantly: "I, I, I was preparing. The System said my conception window has arrived. What if I get pregnant? Don't I have to prepare in advance? Clothes need to be bought, diapers need to be bought, and a crib needs to be bought. Are there enough cribs on The Ark? There are sixteen children now; if we add three more..."

Qin Lin walked over and sat beside her, took the small outfit from her hand, folded it, and set it aside.

"Don't worry, there will be."

"O...okay."

"You're nervous."

"I'm not nervous!" Hong Yao's voice was sharp and bright.

"Then why are your hands shaking?"

Hong Yao looked down at her hands; they were indeed shaking.

She tucked her hands under her bottom to press them down, took a deep breath, and took another deep breath.

"Okay, not shaking anymore."

Qin Lin reached out and pulled her into his arms.

Hong Yao's face pressed against his chest, her heartbeat fast like a drum.

"Hong Yao."

"Hmm."

"You don't need to prepare these things. The Ark has everything; when the children are born, Han Qing will have everything ready."

Hong Yao raised her head from his arms, her eyes red: "I know, but I just want to prepare."

Qin Lin looked at her and reached out to stroke her hair.

Hong Yao's tears fell; she wasn't crying, the tears just fell on their own.

She wiped them away with the back of her hand, then wiped again, more and more coming.

"Don't look at me." She buried her face in Qin Lin's chest. "So embarrassing."

Qin Lin didn't speak, just held her.

Hong Yao's tears flowed for a long time before slowly stopping. She raised her head from his arms, her nose red, her eyes red, but the corners of her mouth were turned up.

Hong Yao looked at him, was silent for a few seconds, then leaned over and kissed him on the face.

It was very light, like a butterfly landing on a petal.

"Don't leave tonight."

Qin Lin did not leave.

He cohabited with Hong Yao according to the frequency suggested by the System: once, twice.

Hong Yao was different from Qing Yue; she would make sounds, call his name, and bury her face in his chest to whisper after finishing.

"Qin Lin, who do you think the child will look like?"

"Like you."

"What if it's a girl?"

"Like you is even better."

"What if it's a boy?"

"Like me is fine too."

Hong Yao thought for a moment and said: "No matter who it looks like, as long as it's ours, it's fine."

Qin Lin hugged her tighter.

Qing He was the calmest one.

When Qin Lin entered her room, Qing He was sitting cross-legged on the bed, Cultivating.

Her Spiritual Root was a mutated Ice Spiritual Root; when she Cultivated, her body naturally emitted cold air, and the temperature of the entire room was four or five degrees lower than in the hallway.

Qin Lin shivered when he entered.

Qing He opened her eyes to look at him and stopped circulating her Cultivation Technique; the temperature in the room slowly rose.

"The System notified you?"

Qing He nodded, got off the bed, and stood barefoot on the floor.

"What do you think?"

Qing He thought for a moment: "Let nature take its course. If I get pregnant, I'll give birth; if not, I'll continue."

Her attitude was the same as it was for everything: unhurried, not fighting or competing for anything.
