360: Chapter 360 I Can Do It Too

She was the Young Miss of the Murong Clan, taught from a young age to be reserved, dignified, and to preserve her purity.

Her life should have been spent within the high walls of the Murong Family, marrying a suitable young master from a prominent family, having a few children, and Cultivating together.

The apocalypse came, and everything was gone.

Murong Xue opened her eyes and looked at Qin Lin.

"But now I'm lying next to you, and I don't regret it at all."

Qin Lin reached out and pulled her into his arms.

Murong Xue pressed her face against his chest, listening to his heartbeat.

That night, Qin Lin did not leave Murong Xue's room.

Her body was softer than Qing Yue's, and her scent was sweeter than Hong Yao's.

It wasn't because she Cultivated some Cultivation Technique, but because she had been raised on Heaven And Earth Treasure since childhood, built up with top-grade Spirit Pills and elixirs, and cleansed by the purest Spiritual Qi.

When Qin Lin's fingers traced her skin, he could feel that warmth, nourished by Spiritual Qi, emanating from within.

Murong Xue didn't cry, wasn't nervous, and didn't smile.

She just lay there quietly, feeling Qin Lin's hand roam over her body, occasionally closing her eyes, occasionally opening them to look at him.

Her eyes were bright in the darkness, like two distant stars.

Qin Lin asked if she was comfortable, and she thought for a moment before saying, "It's alright."

Qin Lin asked if it hurt, and she said it didn't.

Qin Lin asked if she wanted to stop, and she said no.

Qin Lin didn't ask again.

He had met many women; Murong Xue wasn't the most proactive or the most passionate, but she was the most irresistible.

Her body, her skin, her temperament—everything about her said, "You want me."

Qin Lin held her, and she fell asleep in his arms, her hand still clutching his clothes tightly.

The next morning, when Qin Lin woke up, Murong Xue was no longer in bed.

Qin Lin got up, washed, changed, and walked out of the room.

In the corridor, Han Qing happened to be passing by, holding a stack of medical records.

She saw Qin Lin coming out of Murong Xue's room and slowed her steps.

"She actually agreed?"

Her voice wasn't loud, but her tone carried a hint of

Qin Lin nodded.

Han Qing sighed and patted him on the shoulder.

"You're really something. The Young Miss of the Murong Family, you just took her down. If you take down Murong Wan someday, you'll be at Perfection."

Qin Lin looked at her retreating figure, a slight curve on his lips.

He turned to look in the direction of Murong Xue's mother's room. The door was closed; he didn't know what she was doing inside.

He remembered Murong Xue's mother's face, her skin, her temperament.

Her face was seventy percent similar to Murong Xue's, with brows and eyes like a painting, a high nose Bridge, and thin, rosy lips.

She was older than Murong Xue, but she possessed a mature feminine charm that Murong Xue lacked.

Her skin wasn't as firm as Murong Xue's, and there were fine lines at the corners of her eyes, but her eyes were deeper and more profound than Murong Xue's.

Qin Lin suppressed this thought and turned to go to the Bridge.

The light in Room No. 15 was bright again.

It wasn't a dazzling, sun-like light, but a soft, moonlight-like glow, seeping through the crack in the door and casting a silvery-white patch on the corridor floor.

Han Qing went in daily for checks, and the recorded data was getting better and better. Her breathing was strong, heartbeat steady, and spiritual energy fluctuations regular.

Qin Lin would go to the room every day and sit for a while, bringing the white crystal stone, placing it by the woman's pillow, and watching her from a chair by the bed.

Her face was still so pale, so delicate, so unreal.

Her breathing was deeper than before, and the rise and fall of her chest were more pronounced.

Her fingers would occasionally twitch, and her eyelids would occasionally flutter.

The Ark continued to patrol the central inland region.

Murong Xue's mother had recovered.

Murong Xue fulfilled her promise and completed the bond with him.

The blessing points on The Ark had increased again.

Murong Xue would encounter Qin Lin in the corridor every day. She would glance at him, a slight curve on her lips, then walk away.

She didn't say good morning, didn't say good evening, didn't say anything at all.

Qin Lin asked her why she didn't speak.

She said, "I have nothing to say to you."

Qin Lin said, "But you said so much to me last night."

Murong Xue's face turned red, and she turned and left.

Qin Lin watched her retreating figure and smiled.

One evening a few days later, Qin Lin was looking at the star map in the Bridge.

Murong Xue walked in and sat on the chair next to him.

She was wearing a white short-sleeved shirt and dark blue shorts, her hair loose, and she was barefoot.

Her legs gleamed faintly under the blue light of the Bridge, almost transparently white.

"Qin Lin."

"Hmm."

"My mother said she wants to see you."

Qin Lin stood up and followed Murong Xue to the Medical Room.

Murong Wan was already able to get out of bed and walk around. She sat in a chair by the window, looking at the starry sky outside.

Her hair was loose, and she was wearing a white loungewear set that Han Qing had given her.

Her face glowed faintly under the starlight, the fine lines at the corners of her eyes were shallower than a few days ago, and her complexion had improved significantly.

Murong Wan saw Qin Lin and a slight curve appeared on her lips.

"Qin Lin, sit."

Qin Lin sat opposite her.

Murong Xue stood at the doorway and did not enter.

Murong Wan looked at Qin Lin, remained silent for a while, then spoke: "Xue'er told me about you two."

Qin Lin looked at her, not knowing what to say.

Murong Wan continued: "You are the one who saved her life, and you are also the one who saved my life. The people of the Murong Family are not ungrateful. What she promised you, she will do, and I will do it too."

Qin Lin was stunned for a moment.

"You also want to do tasks?"

Murong Wan looked at him, a slight curve on her lips.

"Why do you think I let Xue'er find you? The people of the Murong Family are not fools. The Ark has everything: safety, food, medical care, Cultivation resources. But such a place doesn't allow people to live for free; there's always a price to pay. I am the matriarch of the Murong Family, not someone who lives off others. I can Cultivate, I understand medicine, I can manage, and I can help. Your tasks, if you need me, I will do them too."

Qin Lin looked at her. There was no shyness in her eyes, no probing, only a clear understanding of "I know what this place is like."

She was the matriarch of the Murong Family, having seen too many transactions, too many conditions, too many instances of "I can only give if you give me."

The Ark saved her, so she had to repay it.

This was her principle.

Qin Lin took a deep breath.

"Will your daughter be angry if she finds out?"

Murong Wan glanced at the doorway; Murong Xue was no longer there.

"She will understand. In the apocalypse, living is more important than anything."

Qin Lin remembered what Murong Xue had said.

"My mother said you're not a bad person."

A bad person wouldn't hesitate when saving someone.

Murong Wan also didn't hesitate when she said, "I will do it."

Qin Lin nodded.

"Good."

Murong Wan looked at him and smiled.

It was her first smile since boarding the ship; it wasn't beautiful, but it was genuine.

The Ark continued its voyage through the starry sky.

The door to Room No. 15 was closed.

The white crystal stone in Qin Lin's pocket was warm, but not glowing.
