561: Chapter 561 Class Reunion! Sometimes having too good a memory isn't a good thing!

Lan Lihong glared at Jiang Pingyuan. "Just because I'm married doesn't mean I can't look at handsome men, right?"

Jiang Pingyuan nodded repeatedly. "Of course you can!"

"Why are you guarding the entrance?" Lan Lihong asked curiously. "Not going in?"

"We're waiting for people!" Su Yang said with a smile. "You go on in first!"

Jiang Pingyuan: "The Die Lian Hua private room on the second floor!"

Lan Lihong asked again, "Who all is coming?"

"Cai Haofan, Lu Ting, Chen Li, and the others..."

"Xu Haiyan didn't come?"

"No!"

"Then I'll stand here for a while too!" Lan Lihong said helplessly. "I'm not close with those people!"

She was only familiar with Xu Haiyan; they used to hang out together all the time back when they were students.

They didn't live far apart, so even after graduation, they would occasionally meet up!

Jiang Pingyuan glanced at Lan Lihong. Feeling his legs getting a bit sore, he simply squatted down.

Seeing Jiang Pingyuan squat down, Su Yang followed suit and squatted beside him.

Lan Lihong adjusted her skirt and also squatted down next to Su Yang. "Su Yang, are you married?"

"Not yet!"

"Do you have a girlfriend?"

"I do!" Su Yang asked, puzzled. "Why do you ask?"

Lan Lihong laughed. "If you didn't, I would've introduced a pretty one to you!"

Jiang Pingyuan: "Su Yang doesn't need you to introduce anyone; he'd probably be overwhelmed by the choices!"

Lan Lihong asked curiously, "Su Yang, is your girlfriend an ordinary person? Do people like you prefer family arranged marriages, just like they show in TV dramas?"

"..."

Ran Ying looked at the three students squatting in a row in front of her and felt the urge to kick their butts!

There was no helping it; the three of them looked too tempting in that position.

She was also hesitating whether to squat down with them; she had been standing for a long time too.

But she was the teacher!

But seeing that Su Yang had done it, she immediately let go of her reservations.

It was more comfortable to squat anyway, and besides, she was wearing jeans!

She was mainly standing there to wait for Su Yang!

Before long, the classmates arrived one after another.

When they saw Su Yang, the class monitor, and their counselor all squatting at the entrance waiting for them, the sense of estrangement in their hearts vanished quite a bit.

Many of the male classmates squatted in a line along the eaves of Shuzhengxiang or gathered around Su Yang.

Those who smoked started passing out cigarettes one by one.

Most of the girls were more reserved, and some were wearing short skirts, so they really couldn't squat down!

They just stood to one side, holding their bags and chatting.

Su Yang was undoubtedly the center of attention, and some people curiously asked him how far his business had grown.

Su Yang tried his best to give vague answers while steering the conversation toward them...

Are you married?

Is it a boy or a girl?

How old is the child?

Why are you still single?

...

Seeing so many people gathered at the entrance, the front-of-house manager of Shuzhengxiang ran over and asked Su Yang if they wanted to go inside and sit.

He knew Su Yang and considered him a regular customer!

Seeing that his classmates were about to block the main entrance and that most people had arrived, Su Yang discussed it with Jiang Pingyuan and led the group into the Die Lian Hua private room.

The Die Lian Hua room had three round tables and even a dance floor in the middle, making it suitable for small gatherings.

Twenty-two people had signed up to come this time, and Jiang Pingyuan remarked that this was the highest turnout they had ever had!

It was probably because Su Yang was attending and paying for the meal, so everyone was more enthusiastic!

By twelve o'clock, all twenty-two classmates had arrived, and Su Yang asked the server to start serving the food.

They also brought drinks, Chiyan red wine, and beer.

Jiang Pingyuan announced that they would be visiting the school in the afternoon, so everyone should drink in moderation.

They would leave after having dinner in the evening!

Once all the food was served, Jiang Pingyuan started livening up the atmosphere.

Aside from toasting the counselor, everyone also toasted Su Yang at the end, wishing him prosperous business!

Seeing the table filled with expensive "hard" dishes like king crab, bird's nest, and abalone, their congratulations were sincere!

Su Yang naturally accepted them happily.

Everyone sat with the classmates they were familiar with, eating and chatting, and the atmosphere was quite relaxed and harmonious.

Some female students complained about the boys smoking, so they opened the windows to let some air in.

Some of the classmates who were doing well might show off a little, drawing envious glances, but it was all kept within a small circle, perhaps because Su Yang was presiding over the table...

Su Yang also heard some female students commenting on the wine, saying the Chiyan was delicious and not astringent at all.

It was sweet and completely different from the wine she bought at the supermarket!

When they looked it up and found out the wine was 300 yuan a bottle, many people exclaimed that they couldn't afford to drink it!

However, some male students decisively abandoned the beer in their hands and switched to wine.

They wanted to taste what 300-yuan-a-bottle wine tasted like!

Su Yang chatted with his roommate Pang Dong, mainly asking about the two roommates who hadn't come.

Su Yang roughly knew that one was working in Shenzhen and the other had taken an exam to work in Tibet province!

But very soon, he heard a commotion at the next table, and some female students were wiping away tears.

Su Yang asked, puzzled, "What's going on?"

Jiang Pingyuan took a sip of red wine. "Zhu Huabin passed away; I only found out recently... He was unlucky, got hit by a car, and I heard he died quite tragically!"

Su Yang took a deep breath, and memories of this person gradually surfaced in his mind...

Zhu Huabin had been very ordinary in class, with a weak presence.

He wasn't very close to Su Yang, living in the dormitory diagonally across from him.

Over the three years, he had borrowed toilet paper from Su Yang and sat on Su Yang's bed to smoke.

Su Yang had asked him to pick up takeout for him a few times.

They had teamed up in games, where he played support and stole Su Yang's kills!

On the basketball court, Su Yang had blocked his shots a few times.

Su Yang actually remembered his helpless expression after being blocked very clearly...

The more he thought about it, the clearer the memories became.

Su Yang suddenly realized that having too good a memory wasn't such a good thing!

Picking up his glass, Su Yang downed the full glass of wine...

The semi-dry wine, which should have been sweet, tasted somewhat bitter!

Seeming to notice that Su Yang was a bit unhappy, Ran Ying whispered to comfort him, "Su Yang, things like this happen often. We lost one classmate last year too, from an illness... they couldn't be saved!"

"Yeah!"

Until after the meal, when everyone boarded the bus and arrived at their alma mater.

Seeing the familiar yet strange school sign, many classmates felt like a lifetime had passed.

Lan Lihong said softly, "It feels like we only walked out of these gates yesterday... and now we're back!"

Xu Haiyan nodded. "I have that feeling too!"

Jiang Pingyuan hadn't arranged visits to the school for the previous reunions!

Once everyone entered the school, the atmosphere of the reunion gradually improved.

Everyone toured the classrooms where they used to have classes and class meetings together.

Finding the seats they liked to sit in the most.

"Classmates, class is starting!"

Just then, all the classmates standing or sitting in the classroom looked toward the door.

When they saw the figure standing at the door, almost everyone was stunned.

Standing at the classroom door was a beautiful woman holding a textbook, wearing a light yellow dress...
