15: Chapter 15 Everything is ready

After speaking, the two brothers turned and left.

Once they were gone, Bai Wanwan glared at him, “You’re already injured, why did you agree to this? Going without a bite of Unicorn Deer flesh and blood won't freeze you to death.”

Xin Feng, despite being scolded by her, still had a smile on his face.

“But eating the Unicorn Deer’s flesh and blood will make the winter less difficult. We don't have enough beast skin at home; I was worried you would be cold.”

Bai Wanwan suddenly felt that the conversation between them was too natural, making her feel a bit dazed.

She had only known him for a short time, and they had only become Mates because of a trade.

He seemed to genuinely treat her as his Female and take care of her, and she didn't seem to reject him either...

A hint of a smile appeared in her eyes, and she deliberately leaned closer to him, “You really want to come with me?”

Xin Feng nodded without hesitation, “Yes.”

“I’m not as fragile as you think. I often get injured when hunting by myself; a few days of rest will fix it.”

“You’re set on going, no matter what?”

Xin Feng nodded.

“Fine then, I’ll support you.”

Xin Feng breathed a sigh of relief. He had been genuinely worried that the Little Female would make him stay home.

He didn't want to make her angry, but he couldn't rest assured letting her go alone.

Bai Wanwan slowly helped him up from the Stone Bed, “Does it hurt?”

It hurt, but he could endure it.

“Wait for me here. I’ll go get the Golden Lion’s beast skin for Roger.”

He slightly turned sideways to avoid her, attempting to walk further inside.

Bai Wanwan immediately grabbed him, “You stand still. I’ll go get it.”

Saying that, she let go and turned to walk into the stone cave.

The stone cave on the left was reserved for Xin Feng. It was filled with his belongings—nothing but dried meat and a large stack of beast skins.

There were dozens of them. As a fake Beastman, she had no idea which animal each beast skin originally belonged to.

After carefully searching for a while, she spotted one beast skin that was golden yellow, with particularly beautiful and glossy fur.

“Xin Feng, is it this golden yellow one?”

“Yes, that’s the one,” Xin Feng’s voice came from outside the cave.

Receiving the affirmative answer, Bai Wanwan pulled hard, and the golden yellow beast skin was drawn out.

She rolled it up, and it took Bai Wanwan some effort to lift the beast skin.

So heavy!

But she was willing to bear this weight, as it could allow her to obtain flint and no longer have to live like a savage who ate raw meat and drank blood.

Seeing her emerge holding the beast skin, staggering slightly, he immediately reached out to take it.

“Is it heavy? I’ll take it.” Bai Wanwan stepped aside.

Xin Feng looked confused, his gaze carrying a question.

She held the beast skin up a bit higher, “You need to recover from your injury first. Later, when you need to take care of me, I won't be polite to you. For now, I’ll carry this thing, and you support me, and we’ll go slowly.”

After speaking, she added, “If you get tired halfway, tell me, and we’ll stop to rest.”

Xin Feng had grown up alone and had experienced his Talent being destroyed and being ostracized by his Clan Members.

This was the first time a weak Female had taken such meticulous care of him. A very strange feeling welled up in his heart, as if something had gently poked his heart.

His gentle features appeared on that extremely terrifying face. Anyone else would probably have been scared senseless.

Bai Wanwan steadily held the beast skin, coordinating with his steps so as not to strain his wound.

The two of them slowly walked out of the cave entrance, moving forward bit by bit.

They saw Hu Ya marching towards them aggressively head-on.

“Bai Wanwan, you caused Xin Feng to get injured?”

Seeing Hu Ya’s accusatory look, Bai Wanwan couldn't help but roll her eyes.

However, before she could retort, Xin Feng spoke first, “It has nothing to do with Wan Wan.”

“Xin Feng, you’re still protecting her? If you were my Beast Husband, I would never let you suffer even a little injury. I have other Beast Husbands who can hunt and provide for you.”

Xin Feng frowned, while Bai Wanwan next to him let out a soft chuckle.

“Let your Beast Husbands hear that.”

“Let them hear it. It would be their honor to hunt and provide for Xin Feng.”

Bai Wanwan was almost amused to anger by Hu Ya’s self-righteous manner. This Hu Ya was a typical example of wanting what she couldn't have.

She spoke slowly, “But don’t forget... Xin Feng is my Beast Husband. You have no chance!”

That one sentence turned Hu Ya’s face ashen.

“Bai Wanwan, don’t be smug! I don’t believe you’ll still like Xin Feng after you get another Beast Husband. Xin Feng, only I don’t despise your face.”

“Shut your foul mouth!”

Bai Wanwan directly swung the beast skin towards her annoying mouth.

Hu Ya reacted slowly and was hit. She immediately started crying.

But after crying for only a couple of times, she noticed the beast skin in Bai Wanwan’s hand.

Her crying seemed to get stuck in her throat, “Bai Wanwan, is this the Golden Lion beast skin? You’re going to trade it for things?”

“None of your business! Move aside!”

Hu Ya not only refused to move but also blocked her way stubbornly, her face filled with rage.

“Do you know that the Golden Lion beast skin is the first beast skin Xin Feng hunted after he came of age? Even when he was severely injured and starving, other Beastmen offered a lot of food in exchange, but he didn't agree. By what right do you take his most precious beast skin to trade for things?”

Bai Wanwan froze for a moment and turned to look at Xin Feng.

Xin Feng, however, said, “It’s just a piece of skin; it’s useless just sitting there. It’s better to trade it for some things you need.”

Bai Wanwan definitely had no intention of putting the beast skin back. She was determined to get that flint today!

When he recovered in the future, let alone one Golden Lion beast skin, ten or a hundred wouldn't be a problem.

She didn't even look at Hu Ya, only smiling at Xin Feng, “Good. You are my Beast Husband. You are willing to give me your most precious beast skin, and I will treat you very well in the future.”

Make big promises first.

If Hu Ya dared to speak again, she would keep hitting her until she shut up.

The older Male bowed slightly, “You can rest assured, Chief.”

The Clan Leader nodded in satisfaction, then looked elsewhere, as if he had never paid attention to Bai Wanwan.
