240: Chapter 240 The Young Clan Chief Might Not Be Unmoved

Chapter 24: The Young Clan Leader Might Not Be Unmoved

The Cat Beastman trembled all over, shrinking his neck, still not daring to make a sound.

Clan Leader Jin Cang had warned him that if he wanted to stay in the Golden Lion Tribe, he had to forget the past and could not let Bai Wanwan and the others know of his existence.

He didn't know who the Male before him was, but he instinctively felt that nothing good would come from him seeking him out.

“I, I really don't know what you're talking about.”

“You don't know?” Jin Yi laughed softly. “If you don't know, I can send you outside the city to help you remember properly.”

The Cat Beastman's face changed drastically; the beast tide from some time ago had left a violent impact on him.

If it weren't for the many powerful Males in the Golden Lion Tribe, the Tribe's city would have fallen long ago.

The beastmen in the Tribe would surely have all perished in the mouths of those crazed wild beasts.

Even so, the Golden Lion Clan still suffered heavy losses. He heard that to resist the beast tide, the Golden Lion Tribe had already lost one Yellow-Tier Male, three Green-Tier Males, and over twenty Blue Tier Males.

If this had been a small or medium-sized Tribe, they would have been completely wiped out long ago.

Seeing his eyes darting around while remaining silent, Jin Yi narrowed his eyes and directly ordered the beastmen beside him, “Throw him out of the city!”

Having said that, he turned around to leave.

The Cat Beastman was hoisted up by two Golden Lion beastmen. He shouted in panic, “You can't throw me out! The Clan Leader promised me that I could live safely in the Golden Lion Tribe.”

Jin Yi turned back again. “If you don't speak, by the time the Clan Leader finds out, you will have already been eaten clean by wild beasts.”

Jin Yi said no more. The two Golden Lions carried the Cat Beastman toward the city gates.

Seeing that they seemed to be serious, the Cat Beastman screamed in terror, “I'll talk! I'll tell you everything!”

The two Golden Lion beastmen beside him turned to look at Jin Yi.

Jin Yi stood in place with his hands behind his back, nodding slightly. Only then did they bring the Cat Beastman back before him.

“Speak.”

The Cat Beastman glanced at the two Males beside him and then said in a low voice, “I can tell you, but I can only tell you.”

He had promised the Clan Leader not to leak the fact that Bai Wanwan was a Sacred Female, but he had no other choice now. The only thing he could do was let as few beastmen as possible know about Bai Wanwan's identity.

Jin Yi nodded, and the two Males standing beside the Cat Beastman immediately moved away.

Jin Yi withdrew his gaze, letting it fall flatly on the Cat Beastman. “Don't delay any further; my patience is limited.”

“I, I'll say it.”

After some hesitation, the Cat Beastman finally gritted his teeth.

“Bai Wanwan she... she is a Sacred Female.”

Jin Yi, who had been calm, suddenly had his pupils constrict. He even thought he had misheard.

“What did you say?”

“Bai Wanwan is a Sacred Female, I'm not lying to you.” The Cat Beastman's voice trembled. “I—I am a beastman from the same Tribe as her.”

Jin Yi's expression shifted. “How many beastmen know about this?”

“I... I don't know. Our entire Tribe's beastmen knew, but Wandering Beasts attacked our Tribe. My Clan Members were almost all killed by the Wandering Beasts. I don't know where the surviving beastmen are either.”

No wonder...

Jin Yi thought of his Father Beast's attitude toward Bai Wanwan.

As soon as Bai Wanwan arrived at the Golden Lion Tribe, she moved into that Stone House.

Later, his Father Beast was even responsive to all of Bai Wanwan's requests.

It turned out... Father Beast knew from the beginning that Bai Wanwan was a Sacred Female.

His eyes glinted with a sharp light as he warned him: “Aside from me and the Clan Leader, you are not to tell any beastman about this. If I find out that the matter of Bai Wanwan being a Sacred Female was leaked from your mouth to other beastmen, then you can only become food for wild beasts.”

“Yes, I definitely won't tell other beastmen.”

The Cat Beastman was terrified and didn't heave a long sigh of relief until Jin Yi turned to leave.

As Jin Yi left, he turned to instruct the Females nearby: “Keep an eye on him. If he has close contact with anyone, tell me immediately.”

Although threatening his life would make the other party cautious, Jin Yi was still not at ease.

A Sacred Female, who legend says can give birth to the strongest offspring, was a rare sight in the entire Beastman Continent.

The Golden Lion Clan had once had a Sacred Female, which laid the foundation for their clan's glory.

If Bai Wanwan really was a Sacred Female, she would certainly attract the covetousness of other Tribes.

Once her identity was leaked, it would bring trouble to the Golden Lion Tribe.

While lost in thought, his path was suddenly blocked by several Males.

Jin Yi looked at Jin Yue standing in front. “Is something the matter?”

Jin Yue stood respectfully without moving, lowering his head slightly: “Young Clan Leader, the Clan Leader requests your presence.”

After only a moment's hesitation, Jin Yi turned and stepped past him, leading the way.

Jin Yi stepped into the Stone House; under the flickering firelight, shadows danced.

Jin Cang was standing by the window with his back to him, speaking without turning around: “You went to see that Cat Beastman?”

Jin Yi walked forward and did not deny it. “Yes.”

Jin Cang turned around, his wise gaze falling upon him. “Then you know about Bai Wanwan's identity?”

Jin Yi's expression remained unchanged as he spoke calmly, “I know.”

Jin Cang scrutinized his expression for a long time, then sighed.

“Then you should understand your Father Beast's painstaking efforts... Pairing with her is the best choice for you and for the Tribe.”

Jin Yi remained silent, but his handsome brows gradually knit together. “Father Beast, I will not pair with her.”

“Why? What kind of Female do you actually want?”

Jin Cang's voice deepened slightly. “Bai Wanwan is beautiful, has a good temperament, and is a Sacred Female that one can only hope for but not seek out. If you miss her, where will you find a better partner than her?”

Jin Yi looked up, his tone cold and heavy. “She is a Sacred Female, but that has nothing to do with me.”

Jin Cang stared at him and suddenly sighed: “Are you still bothered by the matter of your Mother?”

Jin Yi's jaw tightened; he did not answer.

Jin Cang took a step closer, his gaze softening. “Between your Mother and me, it was my own willingness. But I can see that Bai Wanwan is different from other Females. She is sincere toward every one of her Beast Husbands. If you become her Beast Husband, she will also treat you with her heart.”

Jin Yi looked directly at his Father Beast. “Do you want me to gamble on her heart? But I... don't want to gamble.”

He would not be like his Father Beast, forever gazing lonely at his Mother's back, watching her dote on other Males while he was privately despondent.

His future partner didn't need to have outstanding fertility; as long as she had only him in her eyes and they stayed together, it would be enough.

Jin Cang was startled and finally fell silent.

“If Father Beast has nothing else, I will head back first.”

“Yes, go back. You still have injuries, rest well.”

Jin Yi gave an affirmative sound, turned, and strode away.

Watching his departing back, Jin Cang turned to look at the elderly beastman beside him. “Uncle Wu, I only have Jin Yi as my descendant, but now that he is so unwilling to pair, what do you think I should do?”

Jin Cang had a headache; Jin Yi was already past the optimal age for pairing. If it weren't for his status as the Young Clan Leader, Females with superior fertility wouldn't even choose him as a priority.

But he also didn't want to force Jin Yi. He himself was willing, but he truly did not want Jin Yi to find a Female who didn't love him. That kind of pain—he had tasted it, and that was enough; he didn't want him to taste it again.

“The Clan Leader need not worry. From what I see, the Young Clan Leader might not be unmoved.”

Jin Cang turned abruptly to look at the Elder. “What did you say?”
