16: Chapter 16 made me so angry.

The Plaza was bustling and lively, filled with talking and laughter. Seizing a moment when no one was paying attention, Bai Wanwan pulled Xin Feng to a relatively remote, inconspicuous spot to sit down.

Xin Feng glanced at her and asked, "Not going to the front?"

"No!" She was just here to make an appearance.

This place had no entertainment anyway. What was the point of going to the front? It was much more comfortable sitting in a corner.

A gaze drifted over as the two of them sat down.

Roger was surrounded by many young Females from the Cat Clan Tribe.

He was very familiar with the looks shining in the Females' eyes.

Having been a Traveling Merchant for ten years and having visited dozens of Tribes, big and small, he was accustomed to the enthusiastic treatment from Females.

Only the Little Female next to Xin Feng hadn't glanced at them, the outsider beastmen, even once since arriving. She only tilted her head, talking to Xin Feng.

The ruined half of his face was uglier than the luo beasts of Zhu Wu Mountain.

Wasn't that Female repulsed at all? She was even smiling at him the whole time.

"Captain Roger, what are you looking at? Did you hear what I just said to you?"

A Female with average looks but a voluptuous figure looked at him with a direct and fervent gaze.

Roger withdrew his gaze, swept it over her, and a somewhat roguish smile appeared on his face. "Sorry, I won't stay for any Female. I still have my Caravan."

The Female pouted unhappily, "Then you don't have to be my Beast Husband. Could you come find me occasionally?"

Roger smiled and hooked a finger under her chin, "Well, that depends on whether I have time later..."

Provoked like this, the Female's heart fluttered. "Then I'll wait for you. You must come when you have time!"

As soon as she finished speaking, she was pushed aside by another Female.

"Captain Roger, last time you came, you gave me so many nice things and said you'd seriously consider being my Beast Husband. Have you thought it over?"

"A little."

She wanted to go back and use the flint to roast meat.

Xin Feng was just about to speak when suddenly, a tall figure blocked the two of them.

Bai Wanwan slowly looked up, meeting Roger's downward gaze.

"Why not sit up front?"

Roger directly bypassed Xin Feng, curling his lips as he spoke to Bai Wanwan.

Bai Wanwan didn't have a good impression of Roger. She turned, grabbed the nearby Golden Lion beast skin, and handed it to him.

"You came just in time. The Golden Lion beast skin is for you."

He glanced at the beast skin but didn't reach for it. "That flint was something I obtained by chance. If you like it, keep it. No need for the beast skin. Consider it a gift from me."

Xin Feng frowned, took the beast skin from Bai Wanwan's hand, and directly stuffed it into Roger's subordinate's hands. "The flint was my trade with you. No need for you to give it."

Looking at his possessive action, Roger suddenly laughed out loud.

"The Little Female will have other Beast Husbands in the future. Are you going to stop them all?"

Xin Feng's hand visibly stiffened. A momentary impulse made him decide for the Little Female.

But he knew this was wrong.

However, before he could speak, Bai Wanwan had already leaned over and linked her arm with his. "Of course you can stop them. You are my first Beast Husband. If you don't like someone, I won't have him as my Beast Husband either."

This time, it was Roger's turn for the smile on his face to freeze.

The gloom that had surfaced between Xin Feng's brows and eyes instantly melted away.

He instinctively turned his head, meeting Bai Wanwan's smiling eyes.

Neither spoke, just looking at each other as if no one else was around.

"Little Female, your fertility isn't high, right? Otherwise, which Female would value a Male like Xin Feng with a ruined face and no Talent?"

She finally got the flint; she could stay home and properly figure out how to use it to reward her stomach.

Besides, the weather was getting colder, and she wanted to hibernate in her own cave.

More and more people gathered in the Plaza. The Tribe leader waved his hand, signaling for everyone to quiet down.

"Captain Roger, we warmly welcome you back to our Cat Clan Tribe. The supplies you brought this time are much needed. Tonight, we will feast our honored guest with the Unicorn Deer we hunted. Please eat and drink your fill."

"Roar..."

"Roar..."

Males would let out roars when happy.

The Plaza immediately became so noisy it hurt the ears.

Xin Feng sensed her restlessness and soothed, "We'll go back after we eat the Unicorn Deer meat."

After the Tribe leader finished the formalities with the Traveling Merchants, they finally began butchering the Unicorn Deer.

Two giant Unicorn Deer were cut into strips of meat, placed in numerous stone basins, and the beastmen began distributing them.

Soon, they reached their area.

Seeing those red, fresh-cut pieces of meat, Bai Wanwan's stomach churned with acid.

The Male distributing the meat quickly walked up to her. He rummaged in the stone basin, picked out a piece of Unicorn Deer meat that looked the most tender, and eagerly handed it to her.

"Wan Wan, this piece is the best. Eat it quickly while it's fresh."

Bai Wanwan took it and "happily" returned a smile. "Okay, thank you. I'll eat it right away."

The Male beastman was dazzled by her smile, staggered a bit, then went to distribute meat strips to the other beastmen.

After taking the meat strip, Bai Wanwan directly tossed it into the stone plate, with no intention of touching it further.

"Don't want to eat?" He read her thoughts from her smile.

"Then we'll go back and use the flint to dry-roast it for you before you eat."

But she was his Female after all. He could only spoil her.

"Okay," she glanced around, then leaned closer to him and said, "We got the meat. How about we just go back now?"

Xin Feng was amused by her greedy look and nodded. "Alright, let's go."

Bai Wanwan quickly reached out to support him. Taking advantage of no one paying attention, they were about to get up and leave.

Suddenly, a Female beastman walked over and said to her, "Wan Wan, the Shaman wants you to go to the Witch's Cave to see her."
