265: Chapter 265 Intentional

Roger stood with his hands clasped behind his back, showing none of the fear or helplessness he had felt facing Zhu Xiu the first time.

Hatred leaped like firelight in his eyes.

Several Males stood beside him, their gazes fixed on him like they were looking at prey walking right to them.

Zhu Xiu almost immediately understood their intentions.

"Intentionally luring me here for revenge?" His voice dripped with sarcasm as he swept his gaze over them, seemingly not considering Roger and the other three Males as opponents at all.

Roger's lips curled up. "Since you're here, leave your life behind. Bai Wanwan... I will take good care of her."

Hearing Roger mention Bai Wanwan, the mockery in Zhu Xiu's eyes instantly vanished, replaced by frost.

"With just you?"

"Yes, with just me!" Roger's smile gradually faded, his tone becoming incomparably chilling. "This time, it's my turn to take your life!"

Zhu Xiu stood firm, his gaze sweeping over the Males. "Is that so? I could take your life once, and I can take it a second time!"

"Do you think I can still be casually killed by you?" Roger snorted and waved his hand. The other three Males beside him quickly transformed into their Beast Forms and moved to surround him.

A powerful energy fluctuation suddenly erupted from them.

This fluctuation... Zhu Xiu was incredibly familiar with it.

His expression gradually grew solemn as he watched the approaching Beastmen.

The aura they were emitting was the fluctuation of an energy stone.

"You devoured energy stones?"

"That's right. The energy stones have granted us immense power." Roger made no attempt to hide it.

Zhu Xiu noticed a black mist permeating the bodies of the three Beastmen attacking him.

The only reason he could swallow energy stones was because he had been afflicted by the dark curse, and he knew the special method required to neutralize the damage the energy stones caused to the body.

If it couldn't be neutralized, the accumulated energy stones inside the body would eventually cause them to explode and die.

In the blink of an eye, the three great Beasts appeared before him.

A Red Fox lunged forward to bite him first.

Zhu Xiu instantly shifted into his true form. The moment his massive body manifested, his long tail swept towards the Red Fox.

Both shared the Yellow-Tier Talent, but the size difference between the Red Fox and the King Cobra was immense; a one-on-one fight was impossible.

It could only use its Innate Ability; the Fox Clan's innate charm could slow the opponent's movements.

After releasing its Innate Ability, the Red Fox did not linger in the fight and quickly retreated.

The Bear Beast beside it was already closing in, swinging its huge claw down as if trying to tear the snake body in half...

The excitement of the Harvest Festival was still ongoing. Bai Wanwan was humming a tune while figuring out what to eat in the kitchen.

Shi Hua walked over from the inner courtyard. She placed her Cubs on the ground while saying to her:

"Sister, I need to go to the Riverside to wash things. I'll be back soon, so I'll leave The Cubs with you."

She patted the heads of the two Black Dogs. "Mother is going out for a bit. You two must be obedient."

Bai Wanwan immediately stopped cutting meat, her eyes sparkling as she asked, "Going to wash things? That's perfect, I haven't gone fishing for shrimp in a while either. I'll go with you."

What else was there to do in the Beast World? It was just about finding things to pass the time.

"Sister, you're coming too? Alright then, we'll bring The Cubs along."

No sooner said than done, Bai Wanwan quickly washed her hands clean and told Shi Hua, "Wait for me a moment, we'll leave right away."

Saying that, she walked to the doorway and called out to Yan Lie, who was taking The Cubs out for a walk, "Yan Lie! Let's go to the Riverside to catch fish and shrimp."

Hearing her call, Yan Lie, holding the Snake Cubs, ushered the Wolf Cub and Cat Cub inside.

After bringing all The Cubs inside, his gaze settled on her, and he hesitated slightly. "Go now?"

Shi Hua noticed his worry and immediately spoke up. "It's the Harvest Festival these few days, so there are quite a few foreign Beastmen coming and going. The Tribe has arranged many Males to patrol inside and outside the Tribe. Many Females can move in and out freely; it's very safe."

Yan Lie was still somewhat worried after the last incident.

When Bai Wanwan noticed this, she proactively said, "Then let's go look at the Tribe entrance. If there are indeed many Beastmen outside, we'll go. If it doesn't feel safe enough, we won't go."

After the previous incident, Bai Wanwan had also become a bit more cautious; safety was the first priority.

But she couldn't be scared of the well by a snake bite for ten years; she couldn't possibly lock herself in the Stone House her whole life, watched constantly by her Beast Husband, never going anywhere.

Thinking about such a life made her feel suffocated.

Only then did Yan Lie reluctantly agree.

Shi Hua walked ahead, holding her two Cubs.

Bai Wanwan had too many Cubs, and they all vied to be held by her, so she could only switch them around constantly.

When they reached the Tribe entrance, the main gate was wide open, and there were indeed quite a few Beastmen coming and going.

Looking further out, there were many Beastmen in the distance too, both Females and Males.

Shi Hua smiled and turned her head to look at Yan Lie. "Did I lie to you? It's lively these few days; there are people everywhere. Nothing to be afraid of."

Seeing the situation, Bai Wanwan also relaxed. "Alright then, let's go catch fish and shrimp."

There were indeed many Beastmen outside, so Yan Lie didn't argue, but he remained alert to his surroundings.

When they arrived at the foot of the mountain, sounds of laughter drifted from the riverbank.

Bai Wanwan pushed aside the tall grass. In the shallow river, Males and Females were gathered in groups.

Some were washing clothes in the water, while others sat chatting on the bank.

The forest was already cool, and soaking in the water was even more comfortable.

"Let's go, let's go! We should hurry down and soak too."

Bai Wanwan, holding her Cubs, called for Shi Hua to come down with her.

She was now quite famous in the Golden Lion Tribe, and the moment she appeared, she attracted the attention of the Beastmen.

But they only looked at her with curious eyes. Only a small portion of the Females smiled and greeted her; most just whispered among themselves, occasionally glancing at her.

Seeing her happy, Yan Lie's mood also brightened.

"Cubs, shall we go soak in the river?"

Hiss...

Meow...

The little snakes could only hiss and flick their tongues.

They poked their bodies out one after another, wanting to go into the river.

"Okay, okay, okay, we'll go down right now." Bai Wanwan deliberately put on a stern face to warn them, "Only play right next to Mother, you cannot leave, understand?"

The cool river water washed over them, instantly dispelling the oppressive heat of the Hot Season.

Yan Lie also followed them into the water, helping to watch The Cubs nearby.

Even with Bai Wanwan's warning, Cubs of this age were bound to be mischievous.

Yan Lie was busy, his hands and feet never stopping, constantly needing to check if a Cub had gone missing.

While taking care of The Cubs, Bai Wanwan casually scooped up some fish and shrimp onto the shore.

In a short while, she had filled a basin.

Bai Wanwan looked at her full catch and said to Shi Hua with a beaming smile, "We can roast big shrimp tonight too."

The shrimp in this river were several times larger than the ones she caught in the Cat Clan Tribe; each one was almost as long as her palm.

Just as they were having fun, Shi Hua suddenly nudged Bai Wanwan with her elbow.

Bai Wanwan's smile hadn't faded yet as she turned to look at her. "What's wrong?"
