353: Chapter 353 Who are the four faces in my mind?
Yin Ze couldn't care about anything else. He turned sharply and pushed the door open.
Bai Wanwan, who had originally been sitting on the Stone Stool, was now leaning against the wall, seemingly having lost consciousness.
Yin Ze hurried over to her and gathered her into his arms.
"Wan Wan, Wan Wan, wake up."
Yin Ze's voice was laced with anxiety.
Yin Mei was also frightened and immediately called to her Beast Husband, "Kong Lai, go quickly and fetch the Clan Witch to have a look at Wan Wan."
Kong Lai acknowledged and immediately took off running.
Yin Ze lifted Bai Wanwan from the Stone Stool, calling her name over and over, but no matter how he called, she showed no response.
"Yin Ze, don't panic yet. First, lay Wan Wan down on the Stone Bed."
The siblings carefully tended to Bai Wanwan until the Clan Witch entered.
Yin Ze immediately stood up and moved aside. "Clan Witch, please look at Wan Wan quickly. She suddenly fainted."
"Alright, don't worry. Let me see."
The Clan Witch walked over and sat down by the Stone Bed, placing a hand on her forehead.
After a long while, the Clan Witch let out a strange "Hmm." "There's nothing wrong with her body."
"Nothing wrong? Then why can't we wake her?" Yin Ze was clearly not reassured.
"Perhaps she herself is unwilling to wake. Let her sleep a while longer. When she's slept enough, she might wake up."
Yin Ze turned to look at her. "Really nothing's wrong? She's just asleep?"
"Mhm, don't worry."
Yin Mei stepped forward with a smile. "Then I'll see you out."
After Yin Mei had seen the Clan Witch off, Yin Ze slowly sat back down beside Bai Wanwan.
Her beautiful face, usually so lively, lay there quietly.
"Wan Wan, the Clan Witch says you're fine. You really are fine, right?"
Yin Ze couldn't help but take her hand in his. "If you're willing to wake up, I'll let you tease me. I won't dodge at all, okay?"
But the Female lying on the Stone Bed did not respond to him again.
Throughout the entire night, Yin Mei came to check several times, urging him to rest for a while so she could watch over her.
But Yin Ze stubbornly refused to leave.
"Female Elder Sister, I'm not tired. I have to watch her, otherwise I won't feel at ease."
Yin Mei had no choice but to leave first.
Kong Lai draped a beast skin skirt over her shoulders. "Be careful not to catch a chill. Yin Ze has fallen for that Little Female."
It wasn't a question, but a statement.
Yin Mei forced a slight smile at the corner of her mouth. "This is the first time Yin Ze has liked a Female since he grew up. I like Wan Wan too. I hope she wakes up and recovers her health. Otherwise, neither Yin Ze nor I will be able to rest easy."
Kong Lai held his Consort's hand, comforting her. "The beast god will protect her!"
"Yes, may the beast god protect her."
Yin Ze kept vigil by her side. Sunlight slowly spilled into the Stone House.
Everything around them grew clearer. The Female lying on the Stone Bed had a peaceful face and a healthy, rosy complexion.
"Wan Wan?"
Yin Ze instinctively called out, as if trying to wake her from sleep.
But the Female on the bed still didn't move.
Bai Wanwan seemed to have fallen into a long, drawn-out dream. At first, everything was pitch black. She couldn't distinguish any direction, and she ran desperately through the darkness.
She didn't know how long she ran before exhaustion drained all her strength.
Then, the endless darkness receded like a tide.
The sudden brightness stung Bai Wanwan's eyes, making them water.
Next, she saw a disfigured Male.
"Wan Wan..." he called to her gently.
She didn't know who he was, but looking at his condition, her heart ached a little. She wanted to reach out and hug him.
But as soon as her hand stretched out, the scene dissipated like a soap bubble and vanished.
She anxiously spun in place. "Who are you? Come back."
But the entire world seemed to hold only her. Vast emptiness surrounded her, and no one answered.
She had no choice but to continue walking forward.
As she walked, she saw a pair of crimson eyes. At first, they were cold and devoid of emotion, startling her. But suddenly, those eyes softened. As they gazed at her, she felt intense love emanating from them.
She cautiously approached him step by step. "Who are you?"
The other person simply watched her quietly, neither speaking nor moving.
Bai Wanwan finally couldn't resist and reached out to hug him.
With this hug, everything before her eyes vanished like a mirage once more.
Next was a fresh, sunny face, one moment filled with sorrow. "Wan Wan, could you like me too?"
The next moment, it was radiant as sunshine. "Wan Wan, you're so beautiful. I want to be with you forever."
Finally, a handsome and noble face surfaced in her mind. He also gazed at her tenderly. "Wan Wan, come back, okay?"
"Okay, wait for me."
Bai Wanwan abruptly sat up.
Yin Ze, who had been keeping vigil by the bed, was overjoyed. He supported her shoulders. "Wan Wan, you're awake? How do you feel?"
Bai Wanwan felt dazed for a moment, unable to clearly distinguish dream from reality.
The four faces in her dream were incredibly vivid, but none of them matched the Yin Ze before her eyes.
What on earth was going on?
Apart from seeing those four faces in the dream, she couldn't figure out what relationship those four Males had with her.
"Are you still feeling unwell somewhere? I'll go call the Clan Witch!" Yin Ze, who had been guarding the bedside, had just stood up when Bai Wanwan grabbed his sleeve.
"No need." Bai Wanwan shook her head. "I'm fine now."
"Really no discomfort anywhere? Don't lie to me."
Yin Ze frowned, scrutinizing her face carefully.
She wasn't as smiley as usual. Instead, after glancing at him upon waking, she seemed completely lost in her own thoughts.
He really wanted to probe what she was thinking, but she seemed in low spirits, so he didn't force the question.
"Are you hungry?"
Bai Wanwan gave him a slight smile at the corner of her mouth. "A little."
"Then wait a moment. I'll go get you some meat."
After Yin Ze got up and left, Bai Wanwan touched her beating chest.
She couldn't help but ask herself again: Who exactly are they?
She didn't know, but her subconscious told her they were very important to her.
So, after she recovered, she would always take advantage of when Yin Ze went hunting in the mountains to inquire around the Tribe.
"Wan Wan, you've seemed restless these past few days. Is something the matter? Can you tell your Yin Mei sister?"
Bai Wanwan thought that sooner or later she would have to leave, and hiding it was pointless.
"Last time you said Yin Ze found me by the Underground River. I wanted to ask around about which Tribes are near that river. Perhaps my family is waiting for me."
"You've made up your mind? You really must go?" Yin Mei felt anxious on her brother's behalf.
"Mhm."
As soon as the word left her lips, there was a commotion at the door.
Yin Mei and Bai Wanwan both turned their heads. Yin Ze stood there, his hunted prey dropped at his feet.
His expression wasn't good. He walked towards her step by step.
"Can't... you stay?" His voice carried a barely perceptible tremor.
Bai Wanwan pressed her lips together. "I want to figure out what exactly I've lost."
She couldn't live her life in a muddle. Why had she come here? What had happened after she crossed over to this place?
When she saw those four faces, she felt that no matter what, she had to find out!
