92: Chapter 92 The Past of the Candle Cultivator

The world before her eyes slowly unfolded like a scroll.

Stretching mountain ranges and green forests extended to the end of her vision, seemingly infinite.

“Exactly how many beastmen are there in this world? How many Tribes?”

Among them are three Super Tribes, twelve Large Tribes, and over thirty Medium-sized Tribes. Other scattered small Tribes are spread throughout every part of the mountains.”

“So many! I wonder if I'll have the chance to visit them all in the future,” Bai Wan couldn't help but remark with emotion.

With over two hundred Tribes, the former Cat Clan Tribe must have been one of the most inconspicuous small Tribes among them.

“Why visit them all? Many small Tribes are much the same, only the beastmen's species are different.”

Bai Wanwan withdrew her gaze and looked at the Male beside her. “What about you? What Tribe are you from? Why did you go to Wandering Beast City?”

If he hadn't become her Beast Husband, Bai Wanwan wouldn't have asked.

Since they were going to be together for a lifetime, she still wanted to understand him a bit more.

However, after asking, she noticed Zhu Xiu's handsome sword-like brows knit together.

Did she put him in a difficult position?

She thought about how many of those Wandering Beasts in Wandering Beast City had been exiled by their Tribes or abandoned by their own Females.

Could Zhu Xiu have had a similar experience?

Zhu Xiu glanced at her. “I have had no other Females, only you. I was abandoned by my Mother and Father Beast.”

Uh... was he that pitiful?

Bai Wanwan couldn't help but feel a surge of pity and affection. She squeezed his hand. “It's okay now. Don't you have me? I will definitely never abandon you.”

As he recalled the past, the hostility surging in Zhu Xiu's heart was easily smoothed over by her single sentence.

He looked at her face, his eyes glowing with a red light and filled with absolute seriousness. “Bai Wanwan, you must keep your word. I'm taking it seriously.”

But the gossip was already at her lips; she had to take a bite to know if it was salty or bland.

Bracing herself, she said, “I'm not afraid. Speak.”

“My Mother gave birth to three Cubs in that litter. The other two... were swallowed by me.”

When he said this, his eyes never left Bai Wanwan, wanting to see if she would be disgusted by him.

Bai Wanwan was indeed a bit surprised. In fact, when she first learned he was a King Cobra, she had a bit of a psychological barrier.

But he was the one who helped her the most in Wandering Beast City, and she had grown used to his massive Beast Form.

“Do other ones not swallow their siblings?” Bai Wanwan was purely curious.

She figured Zhu Xiu probably didn't swallow them on purpose; he was just a Cub back then and likely didn't understand anything.

He didn't hide anything. He also hoped his Female wouldn't be disgusted or repulsed by him, but this was his past, and he didn't want to lie.

Bai Wanwan blinked. “Then if it were now, would you swallow them?”

Zhu Xiu didn't see any fear on her face. He turned his gaze away toward the forest ahead. “I don't know.”

Bai Wanwan reached out to cup his face. “Then what about me? Would you swallow me?”

Zhu Xiu pursed his lips. Their eyes met, and neither looked away.

“No.”

He was very clear on this point. He couldn't bear to let any beastman hurt her, and he certainly wouldn't swallow her himself.

Bai Wanwan was actually still a bit nervous, but Zhu Xiu's categorical answer put her slightly at ease.

“I believe you.” You better mean what you say!

“Were you abandoned by your Mother and Father Beast when you were still a Cub?”

“Yes, they abandoned me when I was only thirty days old. My luck was good; I was very good at hiding as a youngster and didn't encounter any large animals. After I slowly grew up, I was the one hunting other animals.”

He glossed over his childhood experiences lightly, but Bai Wanwan knew well that this was the Beast World; how difficult it must have been for a Cub to survive alone in the wild.

Until they returned to the Black Dog Tribe, Zhu Xiu did not transform into human form, remaining in his coils as he entered the Tribe with her.

The beastmen of the Black Dog Tribe were so frightened by Zhu Xiu's massive Beast Form that they scrambled to get out of the way.

The Females also noticed Zhu Xiu and the Female on his back.

“Zhuo Ling, see? I was right, wasn't I? That Female is prettier than you.”

Zhuo Ling withdrew her envious gaze and looked at the Female she didn't get along with. “She is prettier than me, but that doesn't change the fact that I am prettier than you.”
