373: Chapter 373 The Lover's Whispers

Bai Wanwan snuggled in his embrace for a while before taking his hand. "It's getting late. Let's rest for now."

Xin Feng raised his hand, gently tucking her stray hair behind her ear. "There's no rush to sleep. I just saw Yin Ze leave alone. He looked rather forlorn..."

He understood that feeling. If Wan Wan couldn't see him, he didn't know how devastated he would be.

But fortunately... there would always be a place for him in Wan Wan's heart.

Upon hearing this, Bai Wanwan's smile faded as she turned to look toward the door.

"Go and talk to him."

Bai Wanwan held his hand. "Xin Feng, you're being so generous."

Xin Feng smiled gently. "It's not about generosity. If there were no place for me in your heart, I would fight, I would compete, I could be more possessive than anyone. Perhaps it's because I understand how much it would hurt if you didn't love me, that I can empathize with how he feels."

"Then I'll really go..."

Bai Wanwan watched his expression closely, making sure he wasn't upset, before slipping on her shoes and rising.

"Mm, go ahead."

"Wait for me a little. I'll be back soon."

After saying this, Bai Wanwan pushed the door open and stepped out.

Zhu Xiu and the others had already settled into their assigned rooms. The courtyard was quiet and deserted. In a dark corner, a lone, slender figure stood.

Bai Wanwan slowly walked toward him, step by step.

Yin Ze, lost in thought, suddenly turned. "Who's there?"

Upon seeing Bai Wanwan, he was visibly surprised. "You... didn't you already retire for the night with your Beast Husband?"

Bai Wanwan didn't stop, continuing to approach him step by step. "What? Don't you want to see me?"

In the blink of an eye, Bai Wanwan stood before him, looking up at him.

Those beautiful, bright eyes shimmered with a smile.

"I do... I just thought you wouldn't have time for me right now."

Bai Wanwan directly wrapped her arms around his waist, resting her head against his chest. "My Beast Husband has found me, and I've just regained my memories."

A bitter smile touched Yin Ze's lips. "I know."

Bai Wanwan lifted her head from his chest, gazing up at him. "They are very important to me, people who are part of my very life..."

With each word she spoke, the smile on Yin Ze's face grew more strained.

"These are undeniable facts. They love me, and I love them deeply."

Here, she paused, her voice softening further. "But... you saved me. If not for you, I might never have had the chance to see them again. You gave me a second life."

"Is it just gratitude?" Yin Ze couldn't help but voice the question in his heart.

Even though he likely knew the answer, he still hoped to hear something different.

"You saved my life. How could I not be grateful?" Bai Wanwan gave a light laugh, raised her hands to cup his face, stood on her tiptoes, and kissed his lips.

Yin Ze's pupils contracted sharply. The hands that had not held her now encircled her waist.

"But I'm greedy. I don't just want your gratitude. I want your love too. I want you to love me as you love them."

Bai Wanwan nodded. "Mm, I will in the future. And you... are you still willing to give me this chance, to become my Beast Husband?"

Her tone carried a hint of playfulness, but to Yin Ze's ears, it sounded like the most beautiful melody.

It made his heartbeat lose its rhythm, pounding erratically.

"Yes!" His arms tightened around her. "I want to be like them, to guard you forever, to be with you always."

Bai Wanwan's lips curved into a smile. "Good. Then next time you're unhappy, you have to tell me. I don't want you to be sad, but sometimes I might not notice."

A light danced in Yin Ze's eyes.

He understood perfectly well what a treasure he had found.

Not many Females would be so considerate of their Beast Husband's feelings.

Yet, Wan Wan, despite not feeling well herself, had come out to comfort him because he was upset.

How could he stay angry?

Now, he was brimming with excitement and joy.

He looked forward to their future days with immense anticipation.

"Wan Wan..."

Yin Ze called her name softly, then slowly lowered his head, covering her lips with his, beginning with a gentle exploration before gradually deepening the kiss.

Bai Wanwan didn't push him away. Instead, she stood on her tiptoes, wrapped her arms around his neck, and responded to him earnestly.

The kiss didn't last long. Yin Ze struggled to restrain his impulses and released her.

"Hmm? What's wrong?"

Yin Ze gently wiped her reddened lips with his thumb. "You've been out for a while. Go back. When it's my turn, I won't yield you to anyone."

Just because the other was willing to let Wan Wan come out to comfort him, he couldn't monopolize her any longer.

Wan Wan's Beast Husbands seemed... relatively easy to get along with.

The heavy, suffocating weight that had felt like a boulder on his chest suddenly lifted, replaced by clarity.

He voluntarily released his grip on her waist. "Go on, get some proper rest."

Seeing the bitter smile gone from his face, Bai Wanwan felt relieved. Remembering she couldn't neglect the one inside either, she nodded. "Alright. Don't stand here too long yourself. Go back and rest soon."

Only after Yin Ze agreed did she head back to the room, looking back over her shoulder several times.

"He's not upset anymore?"

"Mm,"

Bai Wanwan walked briskly to Xin Feng's side and sighed with emotion. "What would I do without you in our home!"

Fortunately, he helped keep an eye on things. Otherwise, she would feel terrible if she overlooked anyone.

Because they all loved her sincerely.

She wanted to give them all her love too, but sometimes she might genuinely fail to notice.

Xin Feng chuckled softly. "My Female's silver tongue is the most formidable."

He thought that no matter who it was, no matter how grievously wronged they felt, as long as she was willing to coax them with a few words, who would still dwell on those matters?

They would only wish to offer their very hearts to her.

Bai Wanwan gave a "hee hee" laugh, raising her hand to his belt. "Husband, it's time we rested. Let me help you undress..."

Xin Feng's eyes filled with indulgence, letting her have her way.

"What did you just call me?"

Bai Wanwan looked up, her eyes curved in a smile. "In the world we lived in, the term for one's partner was 'husband.' It highlights the intimate, inseparable bond between two people."

In the Beast World, partners more often called each other by name.

Before, she had felt somewhat shy to say it out loud, but just now, the word "husband" had slipped out naturally.

It didn't seem so difficult after all.

Hearing it was a term for the closest person, Xin Feng's gaze grew even more tender. "Then what should I call you?"

Bai Wanwan was taken aback for a moment. "Wife."

"Wife..."

Xin Feng repeated it softly. His voice was inherently captivating, and when he said it, it sounded like a lover's whisper.

Bai Wanwan's heart skipped a beat.

"Wife..."

Seeing the tips of her ears gradually redden, Xin Feng picked her up and carried her step by step toward the Stone Bed...
