78: Chapter 78 The Chieftain's Past
"Qiu Rong, who is this?"
Aunt Lu walked out of the Stone House, pushing aside Qiu Rong, who was blocking Bai Wanwan.
Qiu Rong was helpless and had to step aside.
Aunt Lu grabbed Bai Wanwan's hand and examined her carefully, "You are the Tiger Cub's Mother, am I right?"
It is easy to develop a good impression of someone who shows kindness so directly.
Bai Wanwan was no exception; a smile appeared on her face, "Yes, I am the Tiger Cub's Mother."
Aunt Lu received an affirmative answer and reached out her other hand to grab Qiu Rong, "Now that you have a Female and Cubs, your Father Beast will surely be happy for you."
Bai Wanwan turned her eyes to look at Qiu Rong and noticed that the corners of his lips were pulled into a straight line on his expressionless face.
Aunt Lu also noticed his mood and sighed, "The past is in the past, Qiu Rong. You must look forward; you still need to take good care of your Female and Cubs."
Bai Wanwan quickly explained, "Aunt Lu, he and I..."
Before she could finish speaking... Aunt Lu placed her hand on top of Qiu Rong's.
Her expression was kind, her eyes curved when she smiled, and she looked at the two of them as if they were her own Cubs.
"From now on... you two must live well together."
Bai Wanwan felt a bit awkward. She and Qiu Rong knew best what was going on between them.
They weren't even mates, so what kind of life were they supposed to live together?
She peeked at Qiu Rong, hoping he would explain, but as soon as she looked up, she saw he was also staring at her.
She quickly blinked at him, but Qiu Rong just stared at her without saying a word.
She used her fingers to scratch his palm, which was pressed tightly against hers.
After all these small movements, it was like winking at a blind man; Qiu Rong remained completely unmoved.
Aunt Lu, however, saw everything clearly. Misunderstanding it as affection between two young Beastmen, she smiled and patted the backs of their hands, "Seeing you like this, if Qiu Rong's Father Beast knew, he would definitely be very happy."
Bai Wanwan hurriedly forced a smile and nodded awkwardly.
Suddenly, there was a commotion from The Cubs inside. Bai Wanwan's attention was immediately drawn away, and she looked past Aunt Lu into the Stone House.
The Tiger Cub ran to the doorway and glanced out, but before Bai Wanwan could see it clearly, it ran off again.
Aunt Lu smiled and withdrew her hand, "Look at me, I got so carried away talking that I forgot. Come on in."
Bai Wanwan was excited. Once Aunt Lu moved aside, she pulled her hand away from Qiu Rong and walked quickly inside.
The Cubs in the Basket also heard the sound of their sibling, stood up straight, and jumped around in the Basket.
Qiu Rong stood at the doorway, looking down at his hand. After staring at it for a moment, he curled his palm into a fist.
"Tiger Cub, come here, your Mother is here."
The Tiger Cub could already barely understand some simple words. It curiously circled Bai Wanwan three times, then twitched its nose.
Seeming to smell a familiar scent, it suddenly pounced and hugged Bai Wanwan's leg, starting to rub against her affectionately with its head.
It really was her own Cub; even after being separated for so many days, it could still recognize her.
Bai Wanwan's heart nearly melted watching it rub against her so cutely.
She immediately put the Basket on the ground and used both hands to pick up the Tiger Cub.
As soon as the Tiger Cub pounced into her arms, it wagged its tail excitedly.
The other Cubs also climbed out of the Basket. Smelling their sibling, they all crawled onto Bai Wanwan, hugging and playing with their brother.
Bai Wanwan laughed heartily, amused by them, kissing one and hugging another.
Aunt Lu, standing next to Qiu Rong, watched until her eyes turned red. She turned to look at Qiu Rong, "Qiu Rong, you have better judgment than your Father Beast. You found a good Female. Seeing how good she is to The Cubs, you will surely be very happy in the future."
Qiu Rong's gaze did not leave Bai Wanwan; this scene reminded him of his own childhood.
Aunt Lu was right. Regardless of what Bai Wanwan was like before, she was indeed a good Mother.
His Cubs were lucky to have come from her belly.
Aunt Lu also sensed something wrong between Qiu Rong and Bai Wanwan. She tugged on Qiu Rong's arm, "Is there something going on between you and her? Aunt Lu feels that if there is a misunderstanding, you must clear it up. If you miss out on such a good Female, you will definitely regret it later."
"Aunt Lu, you know I still have things to do." Qiu Rong withdrew his gaze from Bai Wanwan.
Aunt Lu frowned, "Do you really have to do those dangerous things? You have a Female and Cubs now; you have the responsibility to take care of them. If you were to be gone..."
Aunt Lu couldn't continue, "Those things are in the past, Qiu Rong. Live your life well."
Live life well...
Qiu Rong lowered his eyelids. He had no right to live a good life, and Bai Wanwan was not his Female.
Bai Wanwan was completely focused on her Cubs, happily playing with them. When she looked up, Qiu Rong and Aunt Lu were gone.
She turned her head and found Qiu Rong standing outside the main door.
The snow had stopped, but the snow on the ground was still thick. He stood there as if he couldn't feel the cold.
Standing motionless on the Snowy Ground.
Aunt Lu also walked out of the inner room shortly after, carrying a stone basin filled with fresh meat.
"Come, come, time to eat. You traveled such a long way, you must be hungry, right?"
Bai Wanwan wasn't hungry; seeing the raw meat made her feel full.
But The Cubs pounced on it excitedly. Two little Cat Cubs even climbed over the rim of the basin and dove in to feast.
"Look, The Cubs are starving."
Aunt Lu gently stroked the Cat Cub's head, "Eat more, eat up and grow up fast."
Bai Wanwan glanced at Qiu Rong outside and asked Aunt Lu in a low voice, "Aunt Lu, can you tell me about Qiu Rong?"
Aunt Lu was a little surprised, "He didn't tell you?"
Bai Wanwan smiled and nodded, "Yeah, he has never told me."
Aunt Lu looked at her and shook her head after a long while, "He doesn't want to tell you because he wants to spare you the worry. So I can't tell you either. Don't worry about him; Qiu Rong has a powerful Talent and will protect you and The Cubs."

On the other side, Zhu Xiu and Yin Da were nothing more than two blurred shadows.
Xin Feng wanted to step forward to help, but his Innate Ability was slightly inferior, and his speed couldn't keep up, making it easy to accidentally injure his teammate.
He could only stand on the side and wait.
Snowflakes splashed up across the snowy plains, flying everywhere, and the sky grew darker and darker.
Suddenly, Yin Da was thrown flying. When he landed, he spat out a mouthful of blood, staining the Snowy Ground.
Yin Da didn't even dare to stop; he immediately flipped over, jumped up, and tried to flee, stumbling.
But a dark shadow quickly wrapped around him.
"Ah! Zhu Xiu, I surrender! Can you spare me?"
Yin Da had already realized the terrifying strength of Zhu Xiu; if he continued to fight, he would only have a dead end.
Seeing that Zhu Xiu didn't respond, he struggled, trying to escape.
The King Cobra opened its beast mouth and bit into his abdomen.
The king of Wandering Beast City lost his life in an instant.
Xin Feng watched this scene from afar, shocked by Zhu Xiu's strength.
Just as he approached Zhu Xiu, the King Cobra suddenly turned its eyes, flicking its long snake tongue, and its scarlet eyes locked onto him with bloodthirsty cruelty.
