454: Chapter 454 Kiss Me
The snowstorm seemed to intensify, howling as it lashed against the heavy beast skin door curtain of the Stone House. Jiao Yin strode forward, his tall figure cloaked in a chill, carrying several snow deer and rock sheep frozen stiff.
He was surprised to find Hua Han not clinging to Bai Wanwan as usual, nor teasing the Cubs, but sitting alone out in the wind and snow.
He was clumsily poking at a small piece of beast skin with a thin bone needle.
"Why aren't you inside accompanying Wan Wan and the Cubs?"
Jiao Yin set down the heavy game. Ice crystals rained down, melting into small wet spots on the ground.
He patted the snow off his beast skin robe and asked in a deep voice.
Hua Han didn't even lift his head. He painfully jabbed his finger with the bone needle, letting out a sharp "Hiss." He irritably tossed the object aside, his tone sour, "Accompany? The real Beast Husband is inside accompanying her, showing care and affection. Where would he need me to go and be an eyesore?"
His tone was as if he had just swallowed a bitter fruit.
Jiao Yin's tall frame suddenly stiffened, and the motion of brushing off snow stopped.
He abruptly looked up, his gaze piercing the dim light to lock firmly onto the slightly ajar wooden door, shielded by the thick beast skin curtain.
It was quiet inside. The Cubs seemed to be sleeping soundly after eating their fill, with only the crackling sound of firewood burning in the hearth.
But listening closely, from the gap in the door curtain, one could faintly hear the Female's soft, worried voice, followed by the deep, steady reply of another Male.
"Are they alright?" It was Bai Wanwan's voice, thick with deep concern.
During this time, her deepest fear wasn't for her own safety, but for her Beast Husbands. She feared they would lose their minds because of her disappearance, that they would do reckless things without regard for their own safety.
Yin Ze's weary voice carried a soothing strength. "Besides worrying about you day and night, no one was injured. Everyone is physically fine."
He paused, seemingly grasping her hand, his voice dropping lower. "We found Roger... He was severely wounded when we retrieved your Laser Gun, but unfortunately, we couldn't kill him. He ended up jumping into the sea and disappeared."
"Roger..." Bai Wanwan pressed her lips together.
If Roger had chosen a different approach, perhaps she wouldn't have been so resistant to accepting him.
But he insisted on taking her, and specifically chose the most crucial moment of her life to forcibly separate her from her Beast Husbands in this manner.
Roger's obsessive actions made her grit her teeth in hatred.
"Then we set off tomorrow! They must be anxious since they haven't seen me for a day."
Outside the door curtain, Jiao Yin's breathing subtly softened. Hua Han had already crept closer, his face tense.
Her words struck Hua Han's heart like a whip, and his face paled slightly.
If she left, what would become of him?
Yin Ze's steady voice rang out in time, like a stabilizing anchor: "Wan Wan, not yet."
"It is freezing outside, the snow is waist-deep, and the cold wind can blow away birds. Flying across that raging ocean with you and the Cubs is simply too dangerous. I cannot risk taking you."
His tone carried the decisiveness reached after deep thought. "I will return to the opposite shore alone tomorrow first, tell them you are safe so they can rest assured. Then I will come back, and we will spend this Snow Season together. When spring arrives, the ice and snow melt, and the sea calms down, we will go home together. Okay?"
Outside the door curtain, the heart Hua Han had held in his throat dropped heavily back into place, and he let out a long, silent breath.
His tightly clenched fist slowly relaxed, his palm covered in cold sweat.
The chance... still remained!
He composed his expression, glanced at Jiao Yin, who was equally silent, and a suitably concerned smile reappeared on his face as he reached out, lifted the door curtain, and walked inside.
"Yin Ze is right, leaving now is too risky."
He naturally joined the conversation, his gaze sweeping over Yin Ze's travel-worn yet still handsome face, and Bai Wanwan's slightly reddened eyes. "Yin Ze, you must be exhausted after flying across the entire ocean. Eat something first to fill your stomach, then get a good night's rest to recover your energy."
He walked to a corner, nimbly took out well-smoked, fattest cuts of meat and stored dried fruits, and hospitably offered them to Yin Ze.
Bai Wanwan quickly nodded too, looking at Yin Ze with concern: "Yes, look at you, you're so tired your face has gotten thinner, and your eyes are sunken. Don't just talk, quickly eat something."
She reached out and gently brushed aside a few strands of hair from Yin Ze's forehead, the gesture natural and intimate.
Yin Ze looked at the food offered before him and raised his eyes to thank Hua Han with a nod. He was indeed starving, and the fatigue ran deep in his bones.
His craving for food was intense, and he swallowed extremely quickly, though he didn't appear crude at all.
This was the most satisfying and secure meal he had eaten since leaving the opposite shore.
The feeling of being full and the relief of finding Wan Wan finally allowed his tense nerves to relax.
The night was deep, and only the embers of the hearth in the cave emitted the last vestiges of warmth.
After washing up, Yin Ze naturally slept with Bai Wanwan on the Stone Bed covered with the thickest, softest beast skin, while the Cubs slept sweetly in a small nest nearby.
Hua Han lay on his own cold sleeping spot. He tossed and turned, the dry grass beneath him rustling, mirroring his currently anxious heart.
He stared wide-eyed in the direction of the inner room, unable to see anything even through the door curtain.
But inside that room was everything he yearned for day and night.
The moment that Male arrived, he effortlessly occupied the position Hua Han craved!
His fingers curled into a fist. He would definitely get the chance to lie right beside her openly!
On the Stone Bed, Bai Wanwan nestled dependently against Yin Ze's broad, warm embrace like a fledgling bird returned to its nest, drawing comfort from his familiar scent, which finally allowed her rootless heart to find a harbor.
Yin Ze's arms encircled her, the grip gentle yet possessive.
He could clearly sense the yearning of the two Males outside for Wan Wan, and his arms tightened unconsciously.
He desperately controlled the surging desire within him, deliberately keeping his breathing steady and long.
But the beloved Female pressed tightly against him, her soft curves, the faint fragrance emanating from her neck, challenged his proud self-control at every moment.
His body was as taut as a fully drawn bow, and every breath he took became heavy and scorching.
In the darkness, Bai Wanwan could clearly feel the change in his body and the suppressed craving.
She tilted her head up, accurately locating his tightly pressed lips in the dark, and proactively, gently pressed her own against them, with a meaning that was both comforting and teasing.
"Silly..." she murmured beside his lips, her warm breath brushing across his jaw. "I'm right here beside you, truly... You don't need to hold back."
The touch of her lips made Yin Ze's breathing grow heavier. "Wan Wan..."
"Kiss me."
