Yan Lie had been worried and quietly crept in, only to see Zhu Xiu clutching Bai Wanwan's neck. He lunged forward, attempting to snatch Bai Wanwan away from him.

"Let go of Wan Wan..."

Detecting Yan Lie's approach, Zhu Xiu was furious. He pulled back his long arm, scooping Bai Wanwan into his embrace with one hand while using the other to fling Yan Lie away.

Yan Lie looked him straight in the eye and warned, "You cannot hurt Wan Wan."

Bai Wanwan didn't actually believe that Zhu Xiu would hurt her.

Although he was a cold-blooded King Cobra, he had always been very patient with her; even when controlled by the dark curse, he had never harmed her.

"Yan Lie, I'm fine, don't worry. Go outside and wait for me first."

Yan Lie frowned, his face full of unease. "But... I'm worried."

Xin Feng walked in from outside and first spoke to Zhu Xiu, "Zhu Xiu, restrain yourself a little, don't scare Wan Wan."

On the Stone Bed, after being pulled into Zhu Xiu's embrace, Bai Wanwan simply reached out her arms to wrap around his waist. "Stop being angry, okay?"

Zhu Xiu turned back to gaze at her. "Did you make him leave because you were afraid I'd hurt him?"

Bai Wanwan immediately raised her hands, her eyes full of innocence. "I was clearly afraid you'd get even angrier."

So she kept watching him, trying to figure out his thoughts.

Her words to coax the beast didn't elicit much of a reaction from Zhu Xiu; he lifted her with one hand and then laid her back down flat.

Bai Wanwan took the opportunity to pull his hand and ask, "Are you tired from just getting back? Do you want to lie down with me for a while?"

"I'm not tired. I'll go have a chat with that leopard in a bit."

Bai Wanwan immediately wanted to throw off the quilt and sit up, but then she noticed Zhu Xiu was staring at her face, seemingly studying her expression.

So, she quickly took a light breath to relax her expression. "Alright then, we're all family from now on anyway. Go meet him; I'll just sleep for a bit."

After saying that, she even faked a yawn and turned over to face the wall.

Zhu Xiu sat by the bedside and stared at her back for a long time.

His emotions were now completely restrained, and no fluctuations could be seen on the surface.

Bai Wanwan kept her eyes closed, but her ears were on alert.

There was no movement beside her for a long time. She felt a bit anxious, so she pretended to roll over again.

He walked to the Stone Bed and handed it to her. "Are you hungry? Eat something."

Bai Wanwan reached out and pulled him. "I can't eat right now."

Xin Feng pondered for a moment before asking, "Are you worried that Zhu Xiu will make a move against Yan Lie?"

His gentleness and tolerance allowed Bai Wanwan to speak without any reservations, so she said truthfully, "Yes, Zhu Xiu is very angry. I don't know if he'll do something extreme."

Just now, Zhu Xiu had almost exploded in front of her, but somehow he managed to suppress it.

But that didn't mean the matter was settled.

Xin Feng placed the items in his hand on the Stone Stool and sat down beside her.

"Zhu Xiu could accept me, so he will accept Yan Lie too. It's just that he needs some time to adjust right now."

Zhu Xiu let out a cold laugh. "You're quite protective. She is also my Female."

"I know. The Eagle Beasts' attack last time was truly dangerous. With one more of me, I can help you both take care of Wan Wan."

Fearing that Zhu Xiu wouldn't accept him as a member of the family, Yan Lie immediately said with sincere eyes, "I can swear to the beast god that I will protect Wan Wan's safety with my life."

Yan Lie said all this in one breath, yet Zhu Xiu still hadn't expressed his stance.
