122: Ellie's New Life
"Get up. You will now possess my power!" Clarissa said to Ellie. Clarissa could feel that through the contract, a portion of her power would be "copied" onto Ellie.
This power was only about one percent of her normal state, and it was merely raw power; Clarissa's sword skills, combat techniques, and the like could not be copied over.
Therefore, Ellie was now just a little girl who possessed only power.
Ellie felt a heat on her chest as the mark released waves of warmth that spread throughout her body. She could clearly feel her body becoming stronger and stronger.
Clarissa could also feel a strange power coming from Ellie's side. That power made Clarissa feel warm, a warmth that came from her Bloodline being nourished.
Unfortunately, Ellie's Dragon Control Power was negligible and had basically no effect on Clarissa.
"Get up. These three people are yours to deal with!" Clarissa said to Ellie.
Hearing Clarissa's words, Ellie turned her head and saw the three older boys kneeling on the ground.
"I... Can I kill them?" Ellie looked at the three people. Her eyes revealed disgust and killing intent, but she held back and turned to ask Clarissa.
"You are free, follow your heart!" Clarissa said to Ellie. "Let me ask you one thing first: do you want to learn the sword from me?"
"I am willing to do anything!" Ellie said to Clarissa without hesitation.
"Very well!" Clarissa nodded, then spent some source points to exchange for a hundred-refined knight's sword and handed it to Ellie. "Draw blood first!"
"Okay!" Ellie took the knight's sword that was almost as tall as her. Because of malnutrition, Ellie was not well-developed and was only about 1.5 meters tall. Holding the sword in her hand, it was indeed almost as tall as she was.
However, with Clarissa's "copied power" within her, Ellie found it very easy to lift the sword. She walked in front of the three people, who were kneeling there as if waiting for death.
"Raise your heads!" Clarissa commanded.
The three of them slowly raised their heads, their faces full of terror, tears and snot streaming down. When they saw Ellie standing in front of them holding the sword, they were even more terrified.
They wanted to speak, but their mouths wouldn't open, and they couldn't make a sound.
Ellie looked at the three people at her feet with extreme indifference in her eyes, raised the sword, and slashed down fiercely.
Splat! The sharp sword cut through them like tofu, blood splattering onto Ellie, making her look like a bloody loli.
Splat! Splat! Two more sword strikes followed.
Splattered with blood, Ellie walked up to Clarissa and looked up at her.
"Well done!" Clarissa smiled and stroked Ellie's hair. "From today on, you will follow me. We will leave here and might go to a place very, very far away. Are you willing?"
"Wherever you go, I will go. I will follow you forever!" Ellie said to Clarissa. "You are my deity; you pulled me out of Hell and freed me from the filth."
"I will follow you until death and never betray you!"
"I will become your most loyal servant! I will become the sharpest sword in your hand!"
"Wherever your gaze falls, my sword point shall follow."
Clarissa had found her own Dragon Rider in this world. Although the process was a bit off, the result seemed correct.
Clarissa took Ellie away from the slums, went into the city, changed clothes, and had a good meal.
A cleaned-up Ellie, combined with the nourishment of Clarissa's power—although Ellie was still malnourished, she would get better, and at least her complexion had improved a lot.
One big and one small, the combination of a cool older sister figure and a loli was quite eye-catching on the street.
"Hey! Clarissa!" Bella's Dragon Rider, Lan Fu, happened to run into Clarissa.
Because of Bella, and the two days Clarissa had spent hanging out with her, she and Lan Fu could be considered friends, slightly more than just nodding acquaintances or meeting once by chance.
Seeing Ellie beside Clarissa, Lan Fu asked curiously, "Who is this?"
"My Dragon Rider, Ellie," Clarissa said with a smile.
"Ah! What great luck!" Lan Fu looked at Ellie and said with a smile, "Have you eaten? My treat."
"No need, we've already eaten, thank you!" Clarissa smiled. "By the way, can you find me a quiet and somewhat cheap place? I need to stay for a while to properly teach Ellie."
"A quiet place..." Lan Fu thought for a moment. "If you don't mind, go to my place! I have an empty house; it's not very big, but it has a yard, so it should be suitable."
"Is that so? Then that would be troublesome!" Clarissa nodded without being polite. She only had those few tens of thousands of Dragon Coins on her, which Bella had grabbed and given her last time, saying it was for her expenses here.
If she were to rent, she was afraid that solving food and other things in the coming days would be difficult. She didn't mind, but Ellie needed it.
"Nah! It's no trouble! You are Bella's friend! You are also my friend! It's only right! It's just a temporary stay, not like I'm giving you the house!" Lan Fu smiled and said, "Rest assured and stay there; no one is over there, though you might need to tidy up the house yourself... It's been vacant for a while..."
"Don't worry about that!" Clarissa nodded; these were all small problems.
Then Lan Fu took Clarissa and Ellie to his house, which was over a hundred square meters, not counting the yard. It was quite nice, independent, and even had a wall.
However, looking at the weeds in the yard, it had indeed been vacant for a while.
"This is it. I'll give you the keys," Lan Fu said to Clarissa.
"Mm! Sorry for the trouble! By the way, if you are willing, you can also come to learn sword skills together. It will be quite helpful for your future, though of course, that depends on your own wishes," Clarissa said to Lan Fu.
Clarissa felt that since the other party was helping like this, it would be a bit embarrassing to just take advantage of it for free, much like reading free novels without paying, but if there were free gifts, one would give them.
"Uh... Okay! No problem!" Lan Fu thought about it and agreed. Anyway, he was on vacation recently and didn't have to attend classes, and Cultivating by himself was boring, so coming to learn sword skills was fine.
Lan Fu didn't think a Dragon could know any sword skills. When the time came, being able to help Clarissa more and teach Ellie a bit would also be fine.
After Lan Fu gave the keys to Clarissa, he went out to eat.
Clarissa and Ellie then cleaned up the house together and formally settled in here.
... The next day.
Ellie opened her eyes and sat up. She looked at the clean, tidy, spacious, and bright room, as well as the soft bed, comfortable pillows, and quilt...
She was not dreaming... All of this... was real...
Ellie clenched her fists, got out of bed, and walked out.
"Awake?" Clarissa had already gotten up. She basically didn't need to sleep much; sleeping was just a habit, but usually after sleeping for an hour or two, she couldn't fall asleep again, she was just too energetic.
Therefore, in most cases, Clarissa mainly spent her time contemplating the stars, Cultivating her Breathing Technique, and focusing on Star Sword Intent.
"Since you're up, let's eat first. After eating, I will formally teach you how to Cultivate!" Clarissa said to Ellie. Hiss... Why does it feel like I didn't find a Dragon Rider, but rather found a disciple?
Clarissa suddenly realized this problem... Forget it, it's all the same. Now Ellie was considered her "confidante," so Cultivating her properly was still feasible.
