168: Meeting with the Master of the Golden Sword Sect

Everyone was very satisfied with this exchange meeting, so they agreed to the next “exchange meeting.” Of course, it wouldn’t be anytime soon; at least it would be after some time, as they needed to consolidate after just “improving.”

Lin Zifeng closed the Cross-World Group, having stayed in it for three days.

He also successfully arrived in Pinghai City with the merchant caravan.

“Thank you for escorting us, Immortal!” The two merchants, one fat and one thin, breathed a sigh of relief upon arriving in Pinghai City. Nothing happened on the journey, but they couldn’t just not give Lin Zifeng his reward because of that.

They quickly offered three thousand taels.

“No need, keep this money. When you return to Peaceful Town next time, I will find you then and give you the Immortal Crane Sect banner,” Lin Zifeng waved his hand, not accepting the money.

“Thank you!” The fat and thin merchants’ faces lit up. If Lin Zifeng didn't accept this money, their business funds would be more abundant. However, they were not greedy people: “Don't worry, Immortal! We will calculate the profit sharing starting from this order!”

“Hmm! You are thoughtful,” Lin Zifeng nodded. “You may go about your business!”

“Alright! Then we shall take our leave!” The two merchants exchanged glances, then led their caravan into the city.

Lin Zifeng, on the other hand, was preparing to visit the Golden Saber Sect.

Soon, Lin Zifeng found the Golden Saber Sect’s mountain gate.

Near Pinghai City, there was a small town. Although it was called a small town, its overall scale and defensive measures were much stronger than Pinghai City.

There was also a “Boundary” sign, which read: Golden Saber Sect.

Clearly, this Golden Saber Sect was not a sect in the form of a mountain gate, but rather existed directly as a town that specifically belonged to a certain area.

“Who goes there!”

Lin Zifeng crossed the boundary, evidently triggering some “alarm” devices.

Lin Zifeng had not walked many steps when a team of five, dressed in uniform silver attire with a golden saber pattern and a saber hanging from their waists, appeared.

Evidently, these five individuals were disciples of the Golden Saber Sect.

“I am Lin Zifeng, Chief of the Immortal Crane Sect, here to visit the Golden Saber Sect!” Lin Zifeng cupped his hands and said to the Golden Saber Sect disciples.

The Golden Saber Sect disciples exchanged glances: “Why haven’t we received a visit request? There was no notification from above either...”

However, they could also see that Lin Zifeng had cultivation. The Golden Saber Sect, as a small sect, was already considered the “bottom tier” of immortal sects. As for other immortal sects, even the worst ones were similar in existence to them... As for miniature sects, it was not worth mentioning.

Moreover, miniature sects were quite subtle, basically newly established, but it was uncertain how strong their Sect Master was.

Therefore, they naturally dared not neglect him or make an enemy.

Even if Lin Zifeng was lying, it would be up to the higher-ups to judge; as disciples, they certainly dared not act on their own.

It was only because Lin Zifeng had cultivation. If it were an ordinary person, if they were in a bad mood, they would just cut him down; if they were in a good mood, they would drive him away.

However, ordinary people would not approach where an immortal sect was located at all.

“Then follow us!” The Golden Saber Sect disciples exchanged glances, and then one of them nodded and immediately ran off, evidently to report.

The other four watched Lin Zifeng.

“Mm!” Lin Zifeng nodded, so the four stood in four directions, “guarding” Lin Zifeng in the middle, maintaining a certain distance, and walked towards the Golden Saber Sect’s town.

Along the way, Lin Zifeng’s eyes scanned like a scanner, constantly observing, while mentally analyzing the strength of the Golden Saber Sect.

The cultivation of these five disciples was probably between Blood Exchange and Marrow Cleansing.

With five such “patrolling disciples” in a group, the Golden Saber Sect’s strength among miniature sects should be quite poor.

After all, to establish a sect, the Golden Saber Sect Master was at least an Immortal of the Heavenly Bridge level.

Soon, Lin Zifeng was led to the town entrance.

“Please wait a moment,” the Golden Saber Sect disciple said to Lin Zifeng.

“No problem,” Lin Zifeng nodded.

Soon, the disciple who had gone ahead came running back: “Come with me! The Sect Master is waiting for you inside.”

“Thank you!” Lin Zifeng nodded.

The five disciples together led Lin Zifeng to a building within the town that resembled a palace but was not quite as grand.

In the main hall, a man who appeared to be about thirty years old, burly, and dressed in golden robes sat high on a seat.

Upon seeing the other party, Lin Zifeng took two steps forward, cupped his hands, and greeted him: “Lin Zifeng, Chief of the Immortal Crane Sect, has come to visit the Golden Saber Sect. Greetings, Golden Saber Sect Master!”

“Sit! Make yourself comfortable,” the Golden Saber Sect Master smiled and gestured. After that, the five disciples left to continue their patrolling duties.

Lin Zifeng saw that only he and the Golden Saber Sect Master were in the hall; the other party seemed to be bold due to his skill.

Lin Zifeng casually sat down on a nearby chair.

“May I ask why the Immortal Crane Sect has suddenly come to visit?” The Golden Saber Sect Master looked at Lin Zifeng and asked. He saw that Lin Zifeng, at such a young age, had already reached Foundation Establishment - Mind Clarity, seemingly just a step away from Heavenly Bridge.

Looking at his age, he probably wasn’t even 18 yet, right?

This talent made the Golden Saber Sect Master somewhat envious, and at the same time, he envied the Immortal Crane Sect for having such a disciple. No wonder he was the Chief!

The Golden Saber Sect Master was indeed envious. Besides talent, he also envied that the Immortal Crane Sect had such a disciple, while the Golden Saber Sect did not...

The Golden Saber Sect Master knew himself that the Golden Saber Sect had been established for thirty years, yet in these thirty years, there hadn't been many outstanding disciples. The best one only reached Foundation Establishment - Mind Clarity between 25 and 28 years old.

He was also suffering in his heart! However, over these years, they had managed to establish themselves in this area.

Of course, it was mainly because when he established it, there were no other immortal sects in this area.

The world was vast and boundless.

Although there were many immortal sects, in reality, there were still many places where no immortal sects existed. Although immortal sects had absolute dominance over ordinary people,

They also protected ordinary people.

And places without immortal sects could only rely on self-governance.

However, with the emperor far away, self-governance was difficult. It was better when encountering natural disasters or man-made calamities, but if they encountered demonic beasts... then it would be a big problem.

So immortal sects were both loved and hated; one could only pray that the immortal sect was “righteous.”

“Oh! I heard there was a Golden Saber Sect nearby, and based on the philosophy of friendly development, I came to pay a visit! It’s also a way for us to get to know each other,” Lin Zifeng smiled and said to the Golden Saber Sect Master.

“Oh? May I ask how long your esteemed sect has been established?” The Golden Saber Sect Master looked at Lin Zifeng and asked.

The appearance of the Immortal Crane Sect was somewhat sudden, which made the Golden Saber Sect Master a little suspicious. Why would a sect suddenly appear out of nowhere?

“The Immortal Crane Sect was originally on Immortal Crane Mountain in the Immortal Spirit Mountain Range and has only recently emerged. It’s normal for the Golden Saber Sect Master not to know,” Lin Zifeng saw through the Golden Saber Sect Master’s “suspicion” at a glance and said with a smile.

Is it still a reclusive sect? The Golden Saber Sect Master was somewhat stunned.

Of course, being a reclusive sect didn't mean it was superior. Reclusive meant not “showing oneself,” a sect not known to the public.

Most such sects did not have many members, valuing quality over quantity.

Of course, their strength also varied.

Some reclusive sects were indeed incredibly formidable, with few members, but each one, if placed outside, would be a major power.

The Golden Saber Sect Master pondered for a moment. Lin Zifeng, as the Chief of this suddenly emerging reclusive sect, the Immortal Crane Sect... If high-end combat power was the foundation of a sect's prosperity, then disciples were its future.

With Lin Zifeng’s talent being so strong, this Immortal Crane Sect probably wouldn't be weak at all.

The Golden Saber Sect Master had no idea that Lin Zifeng’s words were half-truths and half-falsehoods, but when mixed together, they became indistinguishable, thus capable of bluffing people.
