735: Chapter 735 Survivors

And all of this would end up benefiting Wang Quan.

After looting the snack and beverage sections, Wang Quan felt like he could open a small convenience store.

He had also packed many boxed "spares" into his storage space.

A bountiful harvest!

Next up were the daily necessities and seasoning sections.

As well as the areas selling rice, oil, and salt.

"It looks like I'm going to strike it rich this time!" Wang Quan walked over and saw many bags of flour and rice sitting there.

Because these were too heavy, they hadn't been taken away immediately.

This certainly worked out in Wang Quan's favor.

Actually, there was one thing Wang Quan didn't understand: how this world had become an apocalypse, and how long it had been that way.

He had transmigrated in his own body; he was already in his current state the moment he opened his eyes here.

He knew nothing about the situation here, what had happened, or how long the apocalypse had lasted.

There was no helping it; he had no memories to inherit, nor any records to read... not to mention, he hadn't even seen a living person yet, only a few zombies.

Wang Quan happily stored all these supplies into his storage space.

Rustle~ Rustle~

Suddenly, he heard the sound of something rubbing.

It seemed to be coming from the area where the pots, bowls, and pans were kept.

His gaze sharpened as he gripped his Crowbar tightly. Not forgetting to store the remaining bags of rice into his storage space, he slowly walked towards the source of the sound.

Clang!

It must have been an iron basin or something similar falling to the ground, making a loud noise in this silent space.

"Ha~"

Several sounds immediately reached Wang Quan's ears—the sounds of objects moving!

Immediately after, zombies appeared at the end of the aisle and around several corners, jogging toward him.

The zombies mindlessly hung their mouths open, seemingly wanting to roar, but with their vocal cords rotted away, they couldn't make a sound.

"Run!" a voice shouted. Three people rushed out from that area, heading straight toward Wang Quan. After all, the entrance was in that direction and had been confirmed safe.

Wang Quan got a clear look at the three people: two men and one woman. Their faces didn't look dirty, but their hair was greasy, clearly unwashed for several days.

Their clothes were somewhat dusty, with many signs of dirt.

All three were carrying backpacks that were bulging, looking like they were filled with plenty of supplies.

Clearly, these three were out scavenging for supplies.

They were startled to see Wang Quan while running, but after realizing he was a living person, a look of vigilance appeared in their eyes.

They didn't say much, just kept a wary eye on Wang Quan as they ran, their path clearly intended to bypass him and go around the other side.

They didn't want to have anything to do with Wang Quan at all.

Wang Quan also noticed them glancing at the Crowbar in his hand a few times.

Apocalypse, weapons, backpacks, a supermarket, and a stranger.

When two parties meet, if things go wrong, you become someone else's granary.

That's what they were thinking, but not Wang Quan.

Living people!

He had finally met living people!

He was excited!

"Hey! Wait!" Wang Quan shouted at them. He glanced back at the seven or eight zombies catching up, paused for a moment, and then quickly gave chase behind the trio.

"Don't follow us! Go hide on your own!" a boy with a buzz cut among the three said to Wang Quan, his eyes full of warning.

Wang Quan remained unmoved and continued to follow.

This caused the trio's hearts to sink.

"Don't be nervous, I'll just run with you. I'm all alone, don't worry," Wang Quan took the initiative to say to them. "How about you take me to a safe place so we can talk?"

"Don't try any tricks!" the Buzz-cut boy said to Wang Quan after a moment's thought.

"Don't worry, don't worry. There are three of you!" Wang Quan laughed. Although he had a Crowbar, these three weren't without weapons either; the two men had Baseball bats tucked horizontally between their backs and backpacks, while the girl held a Rolling pin.

Wang Quan estimated that in the crowded space, or perhaps while turning, a horizontally placed Baseball bat had hit a shelf and happened to knock down an iron basin or something similar.

That noise was what had caused this "scavenging" mission to fail.

These three couldn't be "newbies," could they?

Looking at their faces, Wang Quan estimated they weren't very old, probably between sixteen and twenty.

They were just kids! Although Wang Quan wasn't many years older than them himself.

They still looked a bit naive; although they had endured the trials of the apocalypse, in the end, they were still young!

And... they were indeed a bit stupid! Wang Quan looked at the three who were letting him follow, exposing their backs to him just like that.

If he had any ill intentions, in this short time, he could take out the two boys with a single sneak attack.

What could the remaining girl possibly do then?

He might even end up with a "Defeat CG" scenario.

This is the apocalypse! Brother, the thing that can least withstand testing is human nature!

In his heart, Wang Quan had already labeled these three as "college students."

But given their ages, they probably were around the age of high school graduates or current college students.

This label was accurate.

The group of four ran from the second floor to the first, then quickly left the mall and went outside.

The trio didn't stop, running toward the street on the left.

Wang Quan followed closely behind.

The sound of their running soon attracted the attention of some remaining zombies on the street, who began to sway toward them.

Wang Quan followed all the way, running about two or three hundred meters before turning into an alley. There was a small door, which they quickly pulled open and slipped inside.

The Buzz-cut boy stood by the door and signaled for Wang Quan to enter.

Wang Quan nodded and went inside without a hint of fear.

Seeing this, the boy raised an eyebrow and then quickly closed the door.

Once inside, they headed all the way up the stairs.

This seemed to be one of those "old" residential buildings, with no elevator, only stairs.

The doors to the apartments on every floor were open.

It looked like they had all been scavenged clean.

Judging by their appearance, it was possible they were the ones who had searched them.

They went all the way up to the top floor, where there were stairs leading to the rooftop and a sheet metal door left ajar.

"Come in."

The trio opened the sheet metal door and walked onto the rooftop.

Wang Quan followed them in.

Upon seeing it, his eyebrows shot up.

Holy cow!

The entire rooftop had been transformed into a base by them!

The sheltering canopy was covered with a layer of sheet metal on the outside, but small gaps were left to observe the outside world.

On all sides, there were simple windows about the size of a head that could be opened and closed.

Sofas, beds, various supplies, tables, and so on were arranged neatly, clearly showing good planning.

Many items were cobbled together, obviously "contributed" by the residents living below.

The three of them had occupied this place and turned it into their own Safe house!

But... to bring him here just like that, they really were quite bold!
