820: Chapter 820 People are coming!
With the addition of Mr. Blue, combined with the research the military had been conducting...
Now that they had this Super Soldier Serum, the military's strength had increased significantly.
This also gave the military greater and more sufficient confidence.
Coupled with their collusion with Congress, America had reached its peak in terms of both politics and funding!
General Ross's power had also reached its peak!
The Super Soldier Serum was administered to soldiers, resulting in a large number of Super Soldiers.
Furthermore, Mr. Blue added Hulk's blood into the mix, developing a small number of Abomination Serums.
However, without the raw Materials (Hulk's blood) to produce more Abomination Serums, the American military was now in desperate need of the Hulk!
As a result, their attention on the Akatsuki Organization intensified!
With their strength greatly increased, their actions became even more arrogant!
After more than half a month of being completely unable to find the Akatsuki Organization, the military finally shifted its target; they were now going to move against Clarissa.
Watching all this, Clarissa sat there calmly, sipping her tea.
Everything was completely chaotic. As for the plot? That didn't matter at all.
Looking at the source points that had already skyrocketed by over a billion, Clarissa felt the returns were quite good. She basically didn't have to do anything to reap so many source points; what more could she ask for?
However...
In Clarissa's perception, a large squad of American soldiers was heading toward the villa, accompanied by several armored vehicles.
"Director Nick Fury, are you sure you're not going to do something about this?" Clarissa sent a message to Nick Fury.
The latter replied quickly: "I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do. This is a decision by the military and Congress; I have no say in it at all."
"Alright then, I'll just have to use my own methods." Clarissa didn't say much more; since things were like this, she was forced to take matters into her own hands.
Meanwhile, Tony and the others learned of this news through Akatsuki.
"Clarissa! What do we do now?" Peter came up from the underground base and asked Clarissa.
"We'll cross that bridge when we come to it," Clarissa replied.
"Let me handle it first. If that doesn't work, then we'll have to go head-to-head with the military," Tony said to everyone.
"Alright."
Although they were facing that behemoth, Peter, Gwen, and even Polaris showed no fear whatsoever.
Their growth in power during this time had given them enough confidence.
With the Akatsuki Organization and Clarissa as their backing, they were full of confidence.
Banner knew this whole thing started because of him. He took a deep breath: "This started because of me; I'm willing to be at the forefront!"
Over this period, Banner had reached a preliminary reconciliation with the Hulk, and they were now arguably friends.
Combined with the good living conditions in the Akatsuki Organization, and working with Ethan and Connors, Banner himself had managed to conduct a preliminary analysis of his situation in a short amount of time.
The Hulk, how should I put it, had already become one with him.
Separating them would be a huge risk to both parties.
How to find a balance, or what power could safely separate the two into independent individuals... that still required more research.
However, Banner had also successfully taken his first steps into cultivation, having mastered the basics through the Basic Cultivation Method.
Cultivation... it turned him directly into a "metahuman," which was quite a shock to Banner's worldview.
But then he thought about the Akatsuki Organization's various futuristic technologies and all sorts of ridiculous things.
Plus, he was a monster himself, and then there was the existence of the Hulk, Kamar-Taj, sorcerers, Spells, portals... and other ridiculous things like Mutants in the world.
He didn't seem to find cultivation all that hard to accept anymore.
While everyone was discussing, the noise outside grew louder and louder.
The army was arriving!
Tony understood. For safety's sake, he set down his suitcase and transformed. After donning the MK5, the faceplate opened, revealing his iconic face.
"Those inside, listen up! You are surrounded! Come out and surrender peacefully!" an officer shouted toward the villa.
Tony then stepped out from inside.
"Hey, hey, hey! What's the meaning of this? Trespassing on private property! Even if you're the military, you're still subject to legal repercussions!" Tony said to the officer.
"Tony Stark?" The officer frowned upon seeing Tony.
He naturally knew who Tony was; or rather, there was no one in all of New York who didn't know him.
What was Tony doing here?
As expected, Tony's relationship with this person named Clarissa was anything but ordinary!
In that case, it was highly likely that she was also a member of the Akatsuki Organization!
Tony was hard to touch, so this Clarissa would be the Breakthrough point!
"Tony, please step aside. The big picture is what matters; this is a decision by the military and Congress!" the officer said to Tony. "If you insist on this, then I can consider you an enemy of America! You'll be standing in opposition to the nation!"
"Don't make me laugh! What's the reason? Where's the evidence? Just words? I pay so much in taxes every year, and this is the treatment I get?" Tony remained unmoved. "If you do this, you're breaking the rules!"
The officer fell silent for a moment. He couldn't make the call, so he had no choice but to report it.
"General Ross, there's a problem... Tony is here..." the officer spoke with General Ross.
"General Ross is on the line." The officer handed the phone to Tony.
Tony nodded slightly and turned on the speakerphone.
"General Ross, doing this doesn't seem to follow the rules, does it?" Tony said to Ross.
"I won't beat around the bush. I know you're with the Akatsuki Organization, Tony. Bottom line: if your organization hands over Banner, all of this will be forgiven."
"You can go about your business, and we in the military have no desire to be enemies with the Akatsuki Organization. We can each mind our own business and not interfere with one another." General Ross was uncharacteristically reasonable.
Although the military's strength had grown significantly, based on the Akatsuki Organization's strength estimates and various speculations from S.H.I.E.L.D., Ross might be arrogant, but he wasn't a fool.
If it weren't for the Banner situation, whatever the Akatsuki Organization did would have nothing to do with the military.
But now, they were forced into a direct confrontation with the Akatsuki Organization because the other party had intercepted the Hulk!
And slapped the military in the face!
But if he got his hands on the Hulk, General Ross wouldn't care about those things.
What's in hand is what's most real.
As for the Akatsuki Organization, let someone else worry about them; they had nothing to do with the military in the first place.
"Banner is one of ours now," Tony said to General Ross. "How about the military takes a step back? I'll compensate you with a large amount of cash, or rather, provide a very substantial donation of dollars to the military. In exchange, you stop bothering Banner... or I could give you some more advanced weapon technologies. How about that?"
"..." To be honest, Tony's proposal was quite good. Not only would they get immediate benefits, but more advanced weapon technology would also be a direct upgrade.
But who was he dealing with? General Ross!
Furthermore, Banner was linked to the Super Soldier Serum and Abomination Serum they had already successfully developed, and he was crucial to the military's future strategic plans.
Looking at it this way, Tony's proposal seemed insignificant.
