766: Chapter 766 Gathering
"Holy shit!" That commander finally backed down. It wasn't that he lost the verbal argument; although he was at a disadvantage, he could have held his own!
Most importantly, their boss had called and ordered them to withdraw.
As the people from Sentinel Services left, the place went from being overcrowded to just slightly crowded.
Natasha waved her hand, signaling her agents to withdraw as well.
"Clarissa, are you all alright?" Natasha asked.
"What could happen to me? But if you had arrived any later, something would have happened to them," Clarissa said with a smile.
Natasha saw the coldness in Clarissa's eyes.
"Listen, Natasha, tell your director, that Nick Fury, that he shouldn't play politics with me. Because sometimes, when I get annoyed, I'll just flip the table," Clarissa said to Natasha. "Secondly, tell him... never mind, for a man like him, no matter how much is said, it's useless. He'll always find something to do. Let's leave it at that."
"..." Natasha fell silent for a moment before nodding slightly. "I will report this truthfully."
"By the way... Clarissa, is your organization already formed? It's called Xiao, right?" Natasha asked Clarissa.
"Of course, it's already formed. The moment I had the idea, it was done," Clarissa said, as if she were talking about what she ate today—simple, direct, relaxed, and confident.
"And the members?" Natasha couldn't help but follow up.
"Everyone present is a member," Clarissa told Natasha.
Natasha glanced at Peter and Lorna. "So these two are members of your organization..."
Natasha understood. Having gained this information, she planned to investigate and explore further.
She knew about Lorna; a Mutant who seemed to have the power to manipulate magnetic fields... this ability was very strong!
However, the latter's current strength didn't seem very high, as evidenced by her being chased like a dog by Sentinel Services.
Moreover, many records in the reports could categorize the latter's strength within a rough range.
At most, she was at the level of a team of well-trained, fully armed elite agents.
As for Peter... Natasha searched her mind for information... He was the assistant to Dr. Connors at the Osborn Group, seemingly researching some kind of Human Regeneration Serum that could allow for limb Rebirth.
It was said that the research was nearing completion, and this serum was quite famous.
Especially since it was under the Osborn Group, S.H.I.E.L.D. was also paying attention to it.
After all, that was limb Rebirth!
Everyone is human, and this kind of thing is a life-saver!
Furthermore, since limb Rebirth had appeared, other life-saving things might also become a reality!
Not to mention, there was already the successful case of the Captain America Serum.
With the development of technology, they would believe anything that came out!
Thinking of this, Natasha figured S.H.I.E.L.D. would likely need to have more contact with the Osborn Group in the future.
"Then I won't disturb you any further!" Natasha said to Clarissa, then left with Agent Coulson.
Time to report what needed to be reported.
"Alright, the outsiders have left." Clarissa looked at the house that had finally become quiet, a smile appearing on her face.
Lorna plopped down on the sofa and let out a long breath.
At this moment, she truly felt like she was living again.
Sentinel Services really wouldn't capture her anymore; she was now an "agent," and she was safe!
She no longer needed to hide and could walk down the street openly!
Most importantly, she had joined the Akatsuki Organization. This was clearly stated by Clarissa and established in front of S.H.I.E.L.D., that mysterious organization capable of overpowering Sentinel Services.
Lorna thought of her companions and those innocent, low-level Mutants.
She couldn't help but look at Clarissa, opening her mouth but saying nothing.
Because she knew she wasn't worthy, didn't know how to start, and didn't know what she should say... Let it be for now; she would wait for an opportunity in the future.
Lorna thought to herself secretly.
"The show's over, and it was quite intense," Peter said, then walked back and sat down. "Those violent organizations are so crude! They shoved me so hard it hurts!"
"Then you'd better be careful not to get a prolapse," Lorna quipped impulsively.
"?" Peter froze for a moment, then stared at Lorna with wide eyes.
"..." Lorna's ears turned slightly red, then she shrugged indifferently.
"Alright, with this delay, it's getting late. Time flies. Peter, ask Gwen if she's ready,"
"Sure." Peter nodded, then took out his phone to check the time and sent a message to Gwen.
A moment later, Gwen took the initiative to call Peter.
"Hey Gwen, how was your day? Are you free now?" Peter said to Gwen.
"Of course! I'm free right now. Should I come find you?" Gwen said to Peter, her tone sounding quite cheerful.
"That works, but I'm at Clarissa's place. Come directly here!" Peter said to Gwen.
"Okay, I'm on my way!" Gwen immediately agreed.
After some time, there was a knock at the door. "Peter, open up! I'm here!"
Peter quickly got up to open the door and saw Gwen standing there.
"Hey! Gwen, you're here!" Peter said to Gwen with a smile, then welcomed her into the house.
"Good afternoon, Clarissa!" Gwen walked in and greeted Clarissa with a smile, then noticed Lorna. She paused and asked, "Who is this?"
"Her name is Lorna, or you can call her Polaris," Clarissa said to Gwen. "She is now a member of my organization."
"Organization? Clarissa, you mean your organization? You created an organization?" Gwen's eyes widened upon hearing Clarissa's words. "Oh my god! Clarissa, are you joining the underworld?"
Gwen couldn't help but feel a bit uneasy—not out of fear, but because her father was a police officer! He had already been promoted to the New York Police Commissioner!
If her father ever clashed with Clarissa, Gwen didn't dare imagine what kind of scene that would be!
"No, I have absolutely nothing to do with the underworld," Clarissa said, shaking her head slightly.
Only then did Gwen remember that Clarissa was from another world. It dawned on her that people from another world might use different terms. "Oh, you mean you started a company or something? Like hiring people to work for you?"
"That's not quite right either... but I do take on subordinates and pay them a salary," Clarissa said to Gwen with a smile. "I'm also thinking of recruiting you into my organization."
"Eh? Me?" Gwen was stunned to hear Clarissa's words, pointing at herself in surprise.
"Peter has already joined!" Clarissa's words were like a devil's whisper.
