525: Ready to fight

“From what I understand, the three largest sects are Ba Dao Sect, Cang Song Sect, and Duan Yue Sect, which we refer to as One Sect, Two Factions,” Wantong said. “Yuncheng is a small place, located in the south, and its geographical position isn't great, so it hasn't developed much. These three sects are basically the top-tier in Yuncheng.”

Wantong's meaning was clear: Yuncheng could only support three sects, especially since there were many other forces, big and small.

Yuncheng was small, lacked resources, and its economy was underdeveloped, so its progress wasn't very good.

Naturally, it couldn't support so many sects.

“Don't they have any reaction?” Fei Qingyan asked curiously.

“They do, actually. They immediately recalled all their disciples, and their range of activity suddenly became very small, basically confined to their own areas…” Wantong said, shaking his head slightly, with a look of disdain. “A bunch of good-for-nothings! All they know is how to hide! If it weren't for the government, I'm afraid…”

Wantong didn't finish his sentence, but Fei Qingyan and Xiao Feng both knew what he was referring to.

Moreover, the chaos wasn't just limited to the Qi Xiong people's invasion; there were also evil individuals, evil cultivators, bandits, mountain brigands, robbers, and even “rebel armies” rising up and taking advantage of the situation.

The entire Central Plains was indeed in utter chaos.

Fei Qingyan and Xiao Feng shook their heads slightly. It seemed things were more troublesome than they had imagined. This trip to the Central Plains was not going to be an easy task!

However, since they had taken on this job, there was no talk of giving up halfway.

The caravan continued its journey. Due to the Qi Xiong people's attack and the time spent cleaning up the battlefield, the sun was already close to setting when they arrived at Huishan Town.

Huishan Town looked a bit dilapidated. The residents here wore very simple clothes; most men only had a vest and shorts, their skin dark, and they appeared very thin, likely due to their difficult lives.

It was also clear that they had tried to save as much fabric as possible on their clothing.

Fortunately, it was summer, and the weather was hot, so it didn't matter much.

And Wantong's caravan, such a large group approaching this small town, immediately attracted everyone's attention.

However, the common people only dared to watch from a distance. Although they could tell it was a caravan, they still watched Wantong's caravan with caution until they were sure there was no “danger.”

The caravan did not enter the town directly but found a relatively spacious and flat area outside to set up camp and rest.

After setting up camp, the logistics personnel immediately entered the town to purchase some supplies, either with money or through bartering.

“Let's go explore the town,” Fei Qingyan said to Wantong.

“Alright! I've already set up a tent for you,” Wantong said to Fei Qingyan, pointing to a tent that was clearly larger and set apart from the others. “You can stay there tonight.”

“Okay, thank you, Lord Wan!” Fei Qingyan smiled and said, “Then we'll go for a walk in the town first.”

“Do you want to eat together tonight?” Wantong asked Fei Qingyan. “Although our caravan's food can't compare to that of royalty and nobles, it's still very good. If you're interested, you can give it a try.”

“No need, we can manage on our own,” Fei Qingyan politely declined Wantong's offer with a smile. Moreover, she didn't believe anything could compare to “Tang Mo's delicacies,” which were not just gourmet food, the ultimate enjoyment for the taste buds, but also heavenly treasures!

And Wantong's food obviously couldn't compare, in any aspect.

Wantong nodded upon hearing this. Clearly, Fei Qingyan and Xiao Feng had their own plans, and he merely asked out of politeness, not forcing them.

Bidding farewell to Wantong, Fei Qingyan and Xiao Feng walked into the town.

…………

Li Ya Tuo Si World.

“Master Aili!” Lyas was practicing her sword in the courtyard. Seeing Aili appear, she quickly stopped her practice and respectfully bowed to Aili.

“Good morning!” Aili greeted Lyas with a smile.

Lyas's parents were not around; they must have gone out to handle some matters.

It was rumored that things had been a bit restless recently.

Apparently, two counts seemed to have started fighting, and the knights of the two lords had clashed four or five times, with wins and losses on both sides.

However, for now, they were just minor skirmishes, and there hadn't been a major war yet.

As far as Aili knew, it seemed that one of the counts' daughters had castrated the other's son…

Just hearing that, one could easily imagine the specific situation without much thought.

It was nothing more than a melodramatic plot.

However, when these two counts started fighting, their “subordinates,” including some barons and nobles, also joined the battle, and even two kingdoms were affected.

This series of reactions caused the flames of war to grow increasingly intense.

And as the friction continued to escalate, both sides became angrier with each passing fight.

Adding to that various new and old grievances.

It no longer mattered what the initial goal was; now, it was just one word: fight!

The two factions fought to the death, and even the neutral forces around them were drawn in, forcing them to participate in the war, whether by actively attacking or in self-defense, they could not avoid joining the battle.

And Kenny (Lyas's father), as a count, was also affected due to the location of his territory.

Kenny and Lilita (Lyas's mother) were currently deciding whether or not to participate in this war.

Kenny led his knight order to strengthen border defenses. Fortunately, the terrain on Kenny's side was special, easy to defend and difficult to attack. To the south was the Endless Sea, and to the west was the Sleepless Mountains. Both of these places were dead zones and forbidden lands, so there weren't many places that needed defending. He only needed to defend a roughly fan-shaped area, which was sufficient.

Furthermore, the main road entering Kenny's territory was a “gourd-shaped terrain,” and before entering the gourd-shaped terrain, there was a long canyon. Kenny had set up over ten defensive lines and outposts.

So there weren't many places that needed defending.

“Master Aili! I've finally perfected both Whirlwind Sword and Earth Shattering Slash recently!” Lilita said to Aili, as if seeking praise.

“Not bad! It seems you've been very diligent!” Aili was a bit surprised to hear Lilita's words. Her talent was quite good, of course, for Aili, it was merely “quite good.”

After all, everyone in the group was a big shot, each more impressive than the last, so Lilita receiving the compliment of “quite good” was already a high evaluation.

“Hehe~” Lilita's face broke into a wide smile upon hearing Aili's praise.

“Alright, since you've reached mastery, I'll teach you a new move!” Aili's lips curled up, then she said to Lilita.
