785: Chapter 785 The Envious Mages
Peter immediately changed into his "Spider-Man" gear, but after a moment's thought, he threw the Akatsuki Organization cloak over it.
"By the way, Gwen, what about you? Just going over like that?" Tony asked curiously. "Your father will recognize you!"
"Don't worry, I'm prepared!" Gwen said immediately, heading upstairs to change.
After joining the Akatsuki Organization and knowing she would be fighting alongside Peter, Gwen knew she couldn't expose her identity, especially since her father was a police chief.
So, Gwen had also prepared a suit.
Under Clarissa's suggestion, Gwen had been provided with a "Ghost-Spider" outfit—the so-called Spider-Gwen!
The only difference was the lack of web-shooters.
However, having already stepped into the path of Cultivation and being aided by the technological gadgets Tony made for everyone,
Gwen's combat power was not lacking!
"Then today marks the first official appearance of our Akatsuki Organization!" Tony said excitedly, planning to make his debut in his newly developed MK3!
"I am Iron Man!" Tony had already said those words long ago.
Everyone already knew Tony was Iron Man.
Furthermore, Stark Industries had already transitioned into an energy company.
With Iron Man as its "spokesman," Stark Energy was thriving!
Tony, however, had already bought back most of the stock.
Lorna had also prepared a suit for herself: white with green trim to match her green hair, along with a mask.
"Tony, the U.S. military and others are going to question you about the Akatsuki Organization later," Gwen told Tony.
"It doesn't matter, we're not afraid! But I won't reveal your information~" Tony shrugged. "Though... our base here is a bit too easy to monitor..."
"No matter, did you forget? We've partnered with Kamar-Taj. From now on, the underground base will have a dedicated fixed portal. I'll give you a few addresses, and you can teleport from those locations," Clarissa appeared and told everyone.
"That couldn't be better!" Tony was delighted. This way, no one could track them here.
"Mm~ everything in the vicinity has been taken over by Xiao, including signals and surveillance. Even satellites trying to observe this area will see 'fake' images," Clarissa nodded slightly. "Alright, head out!"
"Aren't you coming with us?" Tony asked curiously.
"No, you guys can handle it. Oh, this trip will count toward your contribution points. You can check your earnings once it's over," Clarissa told them.
By changing what had already been altered once again, Clarissa would harvest a massive amount of source points. Giving a tiny fraction back to the organization members as contribution points was more than enough.
"Whew~ cool!" Tony raised an eyebrow.
"Hey, Tony, aren't you going to put on your armor?" Peter had already changed into his Spider-suit, and Gwen had come downstairs in her Ghost-Spider suit.
The two of them looked like they were wearing a couple's outfit, with their Akatsuki Organization cloaks layered over the top.
"I'm changing! Here it comes~" Tony's lips curled into a smirk; it was time to show off!
Whir— Whir— A flurry of components flew in from outside, landing on Tony and rapidly self-assembling into the Iron Man suit!
"See~ all set!" Tony said with a shrug, and the drifting Akatsuki Organization cloak settled over him, draping over the iron exterior.
Lorna had also finished changing into her suit.
"Then let's go!" The four of them entered the underground base, used the portal, and simultaneously used the equipment to call upon the mages of Kamar-Taj.
They teleported there first, and then from there to the battlefield.
The Kamar-Taj mages on shift today were beyond excited.
Profit! contribution points secured!
Opening a portal once granted contribution points. Pulling them in and then sending them out...
That was two rounds of contribution points! Though it wasn't much, every little bit added up!
After all, it was just a matter of raising a hand to open a portal.
"Hey~ Mage Mordo, regarding that Lizard Man matter, shouldn't we go help out too?" some mages approached Mordo and asked.
They wanted to earn contribution points too!
"This matter doesn't require our presence! Besides, four members of the Akatsuki Organization have already been deployed..." Mordo shook his head. "If you're so idle, then go Cultivate properly! You know yourselves how good this cultivation method is!"
"It's great, but we also want to earn contribution points! There are too many good things in the shop!"
"Yeah, yeah, I even want to exchange for the Advanced Cultivation Method!"
"Hey! I want the Blazing Sun Cultivation Method! Converting mana into fire mana would be so badass!"
"Whoa! That one is super expensive!"
"Exactly~ that's why we need to earn contribution points, Mage Mordo!"
"Get lost, get lost! I want to earn them too! All of you, get back to your Cultivation! If you don't want to Cultivate, then practice your Spells!" Mordo scolded them, driving them away.
As these mages left, they were still discussing it.
"I asked when I sent them off, how many contribution points they'd get this time..."
"It sounds like they'll get no less than 1,000 contribution points!"
"Wow! That many? 1,000 points can be exchanged for ten Magic Stones (Spirit Stones)! Those are great items that aid and accelerate Cultivation with no side effects!"
"Yeah! If we save up, we can exchange for better cultivation resources later. Sigh~ those high-tier cultivation methods are too expensive! They easily start at a hundred thousand or a million!"
Listening to the voices fading into the distance, Mordo pursed his lips. He raised his hand to check his portable Akatsuki Organization bracelet, then stood up and walked toward The Ancient One's residence.
"Supreme Mage!"
"What is it, Mordo?" The Ancient One was sitting on a cushion in meditation. She opened her eyes and looked at the entering Mordo.
"Um... the mages below are very eager for contribution points. They all want to earn them, but the channels are really... is there any way to increase the channels for earning points? Just opening and closing portals is far too little! And the number of mages needed isn't high; with everyone on shifts, it's a case of many wolves but little meat..." Mordo said to The Ancient One.
"Oh? This is a benefit provided by the Akatsuki Organization..." The Ancient One shook her head slightly. "Mage Mordo, do you feel that Kamar-Taj is no longer good enough? Or are you saying you want to join the Akatsuki Organization?"
"No, no, no! Supreme Mage, you overstate things!" Hearing this, Mordo shuddered and hurriedly declared his loyalty.
The Ancient One flashed a smile. "Don't be nervous, I was just joking. However, this is indeed a benefit of the Akatsuki Organization, primarily intended for their internal members. It's just that, as allies, I pushed for us to share in this benefit, so any area where Kamar-Taj helps is counted for contribution points.
But regardless, it's their benefit after all; the fact that we can get a piece of it is already quite good. Furthermore, the Akatsuki Organization has already provided the Basic Cultivation Method to all our mages for free and taught them the basics. This is already very, very generous! Do not demand too much!"
"That... is indeed true... I understand, I will go down and speak properly with the mages!" Mordo nodded. "Then I shall take my leave!"
