148: Zerg Invasion

Clarissa flew towards the direction of the battle, carrying Ally.

Clarissa didn't find flying 'unconventional' at all, nor did she think the city prohibited flying, especially with so many flying objects already soaring around.

And now, during wartime, a special period, it should be even less restricted.

Therefore, Clarissa hadn't considered or cared about the issue of flying at all.

Clarissa, carrying Ally, quickly flew to the location.

Before them, numerous bizarre, dark red or deep purple large insects were battling humans.

These insects were numerous; the smallest were half a person tall, and the largest could be tens of meters high.

Clarissa saw humans wielding various peculiar weapons, which fired beams of light or objects with extremely high kinetic energy...

Their lethality and power were quite impressive; at least in Clarissa's eyes, they already posed a threat to Ally.

Moreover, Clarissa also noticed that many humans would enter humanoid structures about two people tall, some silver-white, some red. She saw flames jetting from their feet or backs, making them extremely fast, and their arms, chests, or backs would fire various weapons.

They seemed to be called... mechs?

The mechs' hardness seemed very strong. Clarissa saw a silver-white mech get rammed by a fifteen-meter-tall, elephant-like insect, flying through several houses, yet it stood up completely unharmed.

Biubiubiu! Various lasers, ammunition, and other projectiles were fired at the insectoids.

However, the insectoids weren't limited to close combat.

Some insects would launch highly concentrated, powerful poison bombs, with long range and fast firing speed. Although they didn't explode, their corrosiveness was extremely strong.

Other insects would lift their plump rear ends, their glowing yellow abdomens shining faintly before emitting powerful energy waves to attack.

Both sides fought fiercely, although the casualties among the insects were far greater than among humans.

But the insects were numerous!

Just by looking at the surface, their numbers already exceeded the stationed humans by more than five times!

It seemed there was also a continuous stream of insects pouring out from the wormholes outside.

Clarissa saw several huge, strange insects floating in the distant sky. Their abdomens resembled black holes, and these insects were dropped from their bellies.

They were densely packed, like falling rain.

"Damn it! How could so many transport bugs get in here! What are the people on the satellite defense belt doing! Letting these transport bugs reach here!" The officer in the combat suit cursed loudly.

"There are too many insects! When will reinforcements arrive!" The officer shouted to the side.

"There are also insectoid attacks outside! The satellite defense belt is also fighting! There are also some scattered insect attacks in other places! It might take ten minutes!" A liaison soldier shouted back to the officer.

"Damn it! Ten minutes?! I'm afraid we'll all be wiped out in ten minutes! These insects are too many! This happened suddenly, we had no preparation at all!" The officer cursed, "Everyone, hold your ground! Suppress them with firepower! Bomb everything you can! Also, send people to form a suicide squad! And the mech team, penetrate behind enemy lines! Get rid of those plasma bugs for me! If they keep bombing like this, my defense facilities will be ruined!"

"Understood!" The liaison officer nodded and immediately relayed the order through the walkie-talkie.

"And! If you get a chance, you must shoot down those transport bugs!" The officer shouted.

"Understood!"

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh! Some nearby reinforcements arrived; a dozen technologically advanced tanks, and thirty transport vehicles, carrying numerous soldiers in combat suits, charged down.

The firepower immediately increased by a large margin!

The insectoid offensive was instantly suppressed.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh! Two teams of mech warriors flew in from the sky, directly cutting into the battlefield.

Missiles, large-caliber autocannons, laser cannons, laser swords—the mechs' power was immense, like sharp knives directly piercing into the main force of the insects.

"Is this how battles are fought in this world?" Ally's eyes widened as she watched everything happening on the battlefield.

This style of combat and battlefield was completely different from anything she had ever seen, and strangely, Ally felt so excited!

And those humanoid structures flying around, whoosh, whoosh, so cool! So cool!

"The lethality and power are very good!" Clarissa nodded. Although the individuals in this world weren't very strong, the power of their equipment was very formidable! She even felt it could rival the battle techniques of a Radiant Sun Knight!

And looking at the light blades on the mechs, they were also a 'permanent' attack method...

The people of this world are very capable!

Both sides fought fiercely.

No one at all noticed Clarissa and Ally behind them.

"Ally, protect yourself; I'm going up to help!" Clarissa told Ally.

"Eh? Sister Clarissa, are you going to help?" Ally looked at Clarissa with some surprise.

"Mm! These insectoids are clearly invaders, and my helping will also benefit us!" Clarissa smiled at Ally and explained, not explicitly mentioning the source points.

"Oh, I see! Then Ally wants to help too!" Ally nodded in understanding, then expressed that she also wanted to join the fight!

"You stay out of it. With your strength on this battlefield, I'm afraid you might be gone in an instant." Clarissa shook her head, saying that although Ally's strength was good, on the entire battlefield, she wouldn't be able to fully protect herself.

Who knows, a missile might fly in from somewhere and blow her up.

"Ugh..." Ally once again felt the weakness of her own power... No! She had to work even harder! To improve her Dragon Control Power! To gain even greater power from Sister Clarissa!

Someday, she would be able to fight alongside Sister Clarissa! Although there was some unwillingness in Ally's eyes, she still accepted Clarissa's arrangement and immediately ignited her fighting spirit.

Work hard! Must work even harder!!!

Clarissa reassuringly ruffled Ally's head, then flew towards the battlefield.

"Report! Unknown flying object heading this way!" Clarissa's actions were naturally detected by the humans on the battlefield.

Clarissa was immediately spotted.

"What is it?!" The officer turned his head to look; it seemed to be a person?

No, is this a person? Can a person fly like this without any assistance? The officer looked at the approaching Clarissa; she was very beautiful, but very un-'scientific'!

Clarissa charged into the battlefield.

One person, one sword, she went straight through.

Puff, puff, puff!

The insects didn't care if Clarissa was human or ghost; as long as she wasn't a 'fellow creature,' all living things were to be killed, killed, killed!
