177: Treatment of Xianhemen

After a series of tests, only six people qualified.

This qualification was just a little better than being able to cultivate.

Most of the others were unqualified.

Forget it, six people will do.

Everything is difficult at the beginning, so having six Outer Disciples first is acceptable; as for Inner Disciples, and Personal Disciples, they can be found slowly later.

Lin Zifeng didn't mind; six people was a decent start for the current Immortal Crane Sect.

Finally, Lin Zifeng gave them one hour to handle their "aftermath," and they would depart for the Immortal Crane Sect after one hour.

That evening, Lin Zifeng returned to the Immortal Crane Sect with about a hundred people.

"My dear disciple! You're back... Good heavens! So many people!?" Spiritual Crane Taoist walked out to greet his dear disciple, only to see the vast crowd.

"Greetings, Immortal Master!" The group saw Spiritual Crane Taoist, with his crane-white hair and youthful face, exuding an immortal aura! He fulfilled everyone's fantasy of an "immortal."

One by one, they knelt and cheered.

Soon, Lin Zifeng and Spiritual Crane Taoist arranged everyone.

The area for handyman disciples had already been planned; they were assigned there, separated by gender, and each given specific tasks.

"Among you, there will be an assessment period. The one who performs best will be appointed as the Handyman Steward, and their monthly salary will increase to 3 taels of silver!" Lin Zifeng announced.

Upon hearing this, everyone's enthusiasm soared, and they all shouted that they would work hard!

Lin Zifeng handed the six "new disciples," who happened to be three males and three females, over to his master, asking him to begin their "instruction" in introductory cultivation.

He, on the other hand, spent 10 source points to exchange for a large amount of grain, which he placed in the granary.

Lin Zifeng called over a dozen cooks and told them to prepare food for everyone, so they could eat their fill tonight and work tomorrow.

This made everyone cheer; they had been worried about food and had brought some rations with them, but now it was clear that the treatment was unexpectedly good!

One by one, they felt extremely fortunate to have entered the Immortal Sect.

At the same time, they also felt that the Immortal Crane Sect was a very "righteous" and conscientious Immortal Sect!

They began to feel a sense of identity with the Immortal Crane Sect; if things continued to be good, perhaps they would develop a sense of belonging.

Over time, perhaps the Immortal Crane Sect would become their "country," and they would be its "citizens," specifically ruling these areas.

And so, they ate their fill, eating openly for the first time without worrying about lack of food, and there were vegetables and meat!

And it was all incredibly fresh, as if just harvested, truly worthy of immortals!

The next day, everyone woke up early, ready to work.

Then, they smelled a fragrance.

They got up and saw that the cooks had already prepared porridge and steamed buns; pots of lean meat and vegetable porridge, and stacks of bun steamers were laid out.

"These... these are..." Everyone was a bit confused.

It was the cooks who shouted at them, "Hurry up! Eat breakfast and get to work!"

Good heavens! It really was for them to eat!

And there was breakfast! Not only that, but it was so abundant!

They exchanged glances, swallowed, and eagerly approached.

They all orderly lined up on their own; for each person, the cooks would pick up a bowl from the side and scoop a bowl of porridge, give women 2 buns, and men 4 buns.

They would also ask if it was enough, and add more if it wasn't.

Lin Zifeng watched from his courtyard below (the handyman disciples' area was below, with a sloping staircase leading up, where the "immortals" resided).

"My dear disciple, you've done well!" Spiritual Crane Taoist said with a chuckle as he walked to Lin Zifeng's side.

The six newly accepted disciples were already eating breakfast in their "exclusive" area; after eating, they would come up for "morning practice" cultivation, as they hadn't successfully cultivated yet.

The master leads the way, but cultivation depends on the individual.

These six people would first cultivate the White Crane Skill; once they entered the gate, they would learn the White Crane Fist, and after that, no one would manage them.

If you wish to cultivate, then cultivate; if not, that's your business.

"Mm." Lin Zifeng nodded; he and Spiritual Crane Taoist had both experienced "hardship," and he had witnessed much "human suffering" with Spiritual Crane Taoist.

Even after he became an immortal, under Spiritual Crane Taoist's admonition, he understood: when poor, cultivate oneself; when rich, benefit the world.

Although he still held the "immortal" class and status, he still understood how to empathize with mortals and was willing to provide mortals with a good life; even if he had selfish motives, the overall direction was good.

No matter what, he was still a person of this world and couldn't completely detach from the "tone" of this world, unless one day he had the ability to completely change it.

"Anyway, I've laid the foundation; the rest is up to everyone to create the future," Lin Zifeng said with a smile, nodding.

He had already exchanged basic food, bowls, chopsticks, clothes, and other items from the system.

An area for specialized farming would definitely be cultivated here for growing grains and vegetables, and for raising livestock.

Even if immortals on the Heavenly Bridge could completely abstain from food in the future, handyman disciples and newly initiated disciples would still need it.

Self-sufficiency was still very important.

"Mm! You've worked hard!" Spiritual Crane Taoist said to Lin Zifeng with relief; he watched Lin Zifeng busy himself, handling many matters very thoroughly and with strong execution.

He was also proud of his disciple.

"The rest, leave it to this old man!" Spiritual Crane Taoist said with a chuckle.

Although he was the "Sect Master," teaching new disciples and managing the sect were his responsibilities.

It wasn't that he was unwilling to give it to Lin Zifeng, but rather that he couldn't let these trivial matters delay Lin Zifeng; Lin Zifeng's talent couldn't be wasted here.

What's more, the stronger Lin Zifeng became, the more stable and prosperous the sect would be!

The lower limit of a sect might depend on its disciples, sect master, resources, and so on, but the upper limit would always be its "strongest" combat power.

No matter where, might makes right.

After all, there's a saying: truth is only within range!

And so, two more days passed.
