755: Chapter 755 Coulson Comes to the Door
"Literally, anyway, just watch." Clarissa started acting like a Riddler. "But it's not a big problem. Anyway, if you encounter something you can't solve, just call me. Don't forget that communication crystal."
"Alright..." Seeing that Clarissa had no intention of explaining, Peter didn't press further and simply kept it in mind.
"Alright Peter, we came here today to get Clarissa to come back for dinner," Gwen said to Peter. "Let's not trouble Clarissa with these things."
"Oh right! Clarissa, are you free now? Why don't you come home for dinner later? Aunt May misses you very much," Peter said to Clarissa.
"Of course, I don't have anything to do," Clarissa said with a smile and a nod.
Peter's home wasn't far from Clarissa's place; after all, they both lived in Queens, and the apartment Peter rented wasn't expensive... Well, actually, it was right next door. If you really thought about it, they were in the same residential complex.
"Hey, Clarissa, um, I have a question I want to ask you..." Peter seemed to have thought of something while they were on the way.
"Go ahead."
"It's just, are there werewolves in your world? You know, the kind that can turn from humans into upright-walking wolves..." Peter asked Clarissa.
"No, my world doesn't have such creatures," Clarissa said, glancing at Peter. Had Peter discovered a werewolf?
After all, this world was also a blend of underworld, so werewolves and Vampires existed, and there were also Mutants.
This Marvel World was much more chaotic than the normal Marvel World.
"Alright~" Peter scratched his head. It seemed they didn't come from Clarissa's world... which meant that legendary creatures like werewolves actually existed in his world?
Then could it also be assumed... that Vampires existed as well? He just hadn't discovered them yet.
But with the existence of Mutants, having werewolves and Vampires didn't seem entirely unacceptable. Peter's expression became a bit worried.
After all, at night, he often went out as a vigilante. He was "Spider-Man" now!
Besides those criminals, he had also encountered Mutants, but Mutants were not "accepted by society"; they hid away and did many bad things.
Of course, those were the ones he had discovered.
It was said that there was a Mutant School that accepted Mutants. Apparently, the principal was someone called Professor X, a very powerful Mutant. There was probably some kind of peaceful coexistence agreement or something, right?
For them to exist in the world so "conspicuously".
Similarly, Mutants were divided into three factions: the Peace Faction—the Mutant School led by Professor X; the Hardline Faction—the Brotherhood of Mutants formed by a Mutant known as Magneto; and then there was the Sandwich Faction... uh, they should be called the Wild Faction, Mutants who didn't join either side and belonged to neither.
Peter didn't know much; he had only learned roughly this much.
Usually, he mostly lived his own life, and his work at the research institute was indeed busy enough. If he weren't also a Mutate... wait, would he be considered a Mutant? Peter couldn't help but wonder.
"We're home, Peter. What are you thinking about?" Gwen said, patting Peter's arm.
"Ah! Nothing, nothing. I just spaced out for a bit," Peter immediately snapped back to reality, gave Gwen a smile, then glanced at Clarissa, nodded, opened the door, and walked inside.
"Aunt May! I'm back!"
"Oh! Peter~ and dear Gwen and Clarissa! Welcome!" Aunt May greeted them with a face full of smiles.
Uncle Ben was on the side, saying with a smile, "Quickly, quickly, come inside!"
Uncle Ben warmly invited everyone into the house.
"You guys sit for a while and have some water; the food will be ready soon!" Aunt May said with a smile, then hurried to the open kitchen to continue working on her delicious meal.
Clarissa watched the busy Aunt May; at this moment, this little home exuded a warm, lived-in atmosphere.
Clarissa hadn't felt this in a long time. Although she was now a powerful Cultivator, she felt very comfortable and a slight longing for this kind of domestic warmth.
After a while, the food was ready. Uncle Ben took a look and quickly called everyone to the table.
"Have you been tired lately, Gwen? Looking at Peter, your work must be very busy, right?" Uncle Ben asked Gwen during the meal as they chatted casually.
"It's alright. Although it's a bit tiring, I've learned a lot of things," Gwen said with a slight smile.
On the side, Aunt May smiled as she held a plate, using a serving fork to add food for Clarissa.
The five of them were like a family of five, perfectly harmonious.
The warm lunch was soon finished.
Clarissa stayed for a while to chat.
Peter and Gwen checked the time.
"We have to go to the research institute this afternoon... The research is nearing its end, and our schedule is quite tight," Peter told everyone.
"Mm-hmm, go ahead and get to work. Work is important," Aunt May said with a smile.
"Then I should be going too," Clarissa said, standing up.
"Oh, won't you stay a bit longer?" Aunt May said, standing up.
"No, no, I have a party tonight," Clarissa explained.
"Alright, remember to come over for dinner often! Just have Peter let us know," Aunt May said to Clarissa.
"Next time for sure," Clarissa smiled, then left the house with Peter and Gwen.
"Clarissa, we'll be going now." Peter and Gwen still had to go to the research lab.
"Mm, go ahead," Clarissa nodded slightly, and then Peter and Gwen departed.
What she meant by tonight was actually tomorrow night—that Vampire gathering.
But for now, watching Peter and Gwen leave, she stood in place without moving.
Someone emerged from a corner.
"Ms. Clarissa." The newcomer was an old acquaintance, Agent Coulson.
Clarissa had noticed him long ago; he probably had something to discuss with her.
"Tony has returned safely, though he's shut down the weapons division... Can you tell me what happened back then?" Agent Coulson said to Clarissa. "Let's find a quieter place."
"Let's go to my house," Clarissa said with a nod, then started walking toward her home.
Agent Coulson immediately followed behind Clarissa.
S.H.I.E.L.D. and the military were naturally not on the same side.
Tony had been brought back by the military, and then he shut down the weapons division; there was a huge mess waiting to be cleaned up afterward.
But those were matters for the politicians, the wealthy, and Tony; Agent Coulson didn't care about that.
His main responsibility now was Clarissa.
And from the satellite and on-site surveys...
Clarissa's power was even more terrifying than they had imagined!
In an instant, over a dozen terrorists in different positions and at various distances were all decapitated.
They couldn't even see how Clarissa did it, even when the footage was slowed down a thousand times.
Was it the use of Spatial Power? However, judging from the cleanliness of the cuts, it looked as if they had been decapitated by a sword.
