78: Demon

Carmen Roger looked in one direction: "Let's go!"

"Alright!" Clarissa and Austin nodded, and the three Demon Kings flew towards that direction.

Whoosh! Clarissa and the others flew very fast.

"There are many presences ahead that give me a very evil feeling... and... this presence has a peculiar smell... not good!" Austin frowned.

"Hmm... this smell really isn't good..." Clarissa also frowned and nodded, recalling the smell she had encountered earlier, which was unpleasant.

"Wait, look at The Ground..." Clarissa pointed to The Ground. Unbeknownst to them, everything within their sight was now black and red scorched earth, emitting the very smell they had noticed.

Further ahead, after crossing the mountain that was devoid of any life or vegetation, only scorched earth remaining, they witnessed an extremely spectacular scene:

Massive! Extremely massive!

Countless demons were advancing, leaving nothing but desolation in their wake, stripping all life.

A colossal purple portal continuously spewed out monsters.

"These are the monsters I was talking about!" Clarissa said, pointing at the monsters below.

"It seems... we don't need to search anymore..." Carmen Roger suddenly said.

"Hmm..." Clarissa and Austin also reacted, looking into the distance.

A colossal figure stood there, surrounded by numerous stone pillars, from which countless chains extended and wrapped around its body.

The chains shimmered with golden light, but at this moment, the golden light appeared very dim, as if it wouldn't last much longer.

Isn't this the Demon God!

"It's him... the Demon God!" Austin stared intently at the colossal figure. Judging by its height alone, it was at least over thirty meters tall.

And the Demon God seemed to have noticed Clarissa and the others.

"Oh ho ho! Look! Who's here! Austin! What? Did you find your savior?" the Demon God said to Austin. Though his words seemed light, his voice was incredibly loud and deep, like a subwoofer vibrating at maximum volume.

Clarissa noticed the Demon God's gaze on her, and at the same time, the countless monsters below also raised their heads to look at them.

"Philtos!"

"Jiali!"

Austin spoke: "You... now..."

The stone pillars flickered slightly. They were clearly responding to Austin, but they didn't seem to be in good shape.

Clarissa looked at the Demon God before her. The final step to saving the world! It was right in front of her!

Clarissa pulled up her panel and clicked to upgrade.

"Austin! Carmen Roger! If possible! Let them unseal it! You can still save your lives! The Demon God, leave him to me!" Clarissa shouted.

"You..." Austin was about to say something when a terrifying aura erupted from Clarissa's body.

50,000,000 source points were consumed.

[Dragon Blood Warrior IV] → [Dragon Blood Warrior V]

"Aargh!!!" Clarissa felt the terrifying power boiling within her.

After the upgrade, not only did her strength increase, but her bloodline purity also instantly rose by 5%, reaching 17%.

Feeling Clarissa's current transformation, Austin frowned: "Carmen Roger! I'm counting on you!"

"Alright!" Carmen Roger knew Austin meant to listen to Clarissa. He immediately contacted the extremely weakened "Gods."

The "Gods" seemed to hesitate for a moment, ultimately choosing to trust, because there was no other way. Even if they disagreed, they themselves couldn't hold on much longer. Death was inevitable either way.

It was better to take a gamble; perhaps they could even save their lives. Who would choose death if they could live?

The Demon God, meanwhile, sensed the seal being actively released.

"Oh? It seems she truly is your savior! Hmm... I sense an otherworldly aura..." The Demon God made no movement, whether out of arrogance or confidence. He merely stretched his body slightly, waiting for Clarissa.

"Come! It seems she is your last hope. Watch closely as I crush your hope bit by bit! The taste of despair is delicious, and despair that follows hope and then shatters it is even more delicious!" The Demon God laughed heartily.

Austin and Carmen Roger ignored the Demon God, instead quickly rescuing all the "Gods" who had reverted to human form and bringing them to a safe place.

"Androde, I'll leave this to you!" Austin said to Androde: "Carmen Roger, you stay here too! The rest, leave to us!"

As Clarissa's Dragon Blood Warrior skill upgraded, her physical attributes rapidly soared, and the power within her became increasingly terrifying. The power of calamity and death on her body also grew stronger.

Clarissa's physical attributes skyrocketed, reaching 1129 points.

The explosive power made Clarissa need to vent it.

Whoosh!

Clarissa charged fiercely towards the Demon God.

Boom!!!

The distance of several thousand meters was covered in an instant.

Clarissa slammed a punch into the Demon God's body.

A dull thud echoed from the Demon God's body, immediately followed by The Ground beneath his feet instantly shattering.

A terrifying force, centered on him, transformed into a shockwave that swept outwards in all directions.

"Haa!" Clarissa roared, continuously striking the Demon God's body with her fists.

Boom boom boom! Each punch was accompanied by a massive roar.

Suddenly, Clarissa had a premonition and immediately retreated rapidly backwards.

Boom!!!

A black flame shot into the sky, and then, a humanoid creature about two meters tall, entirely composed of black flames, floated in mid-air.

Clearly, to fight Clarissa, his massive body was inconvenient, so he directly condensed into this form.

"Let me witness your power!" The Demon God let out a long cry, transforming into a ball of fire and rushing towards Clarissa.

Clarissa did not dodge or evade; facing the Demon God's attack, she directly threw a punch.

Bang!

Their fists collided heavily, and a wave of air erupted between them.

"Your power..." The Demon God frowned slightly: "Where are you from?"

"Hmm?" Clarissa frowned when she heard the Demon God's words: "Why do you care so much!"

"Heh~" The Demon God sneered: "I just didn't expect your power to contend with my Abyssal Demonic Flame! Judging by the form of your power, you're probably not a good thing either!"

"Tch~ You're really funny! Power depends on the person! It's not about the power itself! The one who uses the power is the owner of the power!" Clarissa found it amusing when she heard the Demon God's words.

Clarissa, who came from the Grosster Empire, in that world, there was no such thing as 'evil power' itself; only the user could be evil, unless the power itself was inherently tied to evil, such as sacrifices and so on.

This kind of unavoidable "evil necessity" was considered truly evil, something not accepted by the public, something that violated natural law, and thus was truly evil power.

As for mages similar to necromancers, in Clarissa's world, they were nothing special and could still walk openly on the streets. Of course, as long as you weren't caught slaughtering ordinary people or digging up ancestral graves, you were fine.

Legitimate necromancy was not evil; it was just the form of undeath that made people feel it was evil.

The Grosster Empire, being an even more open empire with fierce folk customs, was even more so!
