48: Preparing to migrate
Clarissa had never thought that she alone could “save” an entire world; she knew her own capabilities.
Facing a world-ending disaster, she certainly couldn't do it by herself.
Clarissa also believed that her God sending her here wasn't for her to save the world alone with just a sword.
They needed to unite the entire world to fight against the disaster!
For now, Clarissa planned to move the forces of this village and town to the Royal Capital!
Then, repeating this process, their strength would grow, and from this point, they would spread out.
At the very least, they needed to establish an army capable of fighting against the monsters.
As of now, Clarissa hadn't seen such an existence; perhaps the Royal Capital could, but merely being able to resist wasn't enough! They also needed to be able to go out and “rescue” the living forces from various places.
Everything needed to be integrated!
“Alright, let’s consolidate later! We can’t just sit here and wait to die!” Clarissa pondered for a moment, then told the Guards Captain, explaining her idea.
“With you here! It should be no problem!” The Guards Captain nodded, “We’ve wanted to leave for a long time! But we couldn’t, there was no way! Now that we have such an opportunity, we will seize it properly!”
They weren't fools; if they stayed here indefinitely, they would surely die in the end.
They hadn't left before simply because they couldn't, but now with a super combatant like Clarissa, they definitely had to try.
“Adult, you should rest well for a while; leave the rest to us!” The Guards Captain nodded and said to Clarissa. He planned to discuss with the village chief, the old man from before, and then rally the people.
They could pack up today and depart early tomorrow morning.
After the Guards Captain left, the surrounding adventurers looked at each other, and then several of them mustered their courage and approached Clarissa.
“Hello! Adult!” A sturdy-looking middle-aged man respectfully said to Clarissa.
“You don’t need to call me Adult; my name is Clarissa, you can just call me by my name!” Clarissa nodded slightly and indicated, “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing! We just wanted to ask, does God still accept followers?” The middle-aged man asked, and the two girls beside him, who looked about sixteen, stared at Clarissa with hopeful eyes, especially at Clarissa’s heroic appearance, clad in armor with a sword at her waist, and immensely powerful!
Although many adventurers were female, top-tier powerhouses were rarely women.
Therefore, an existence like Clarissa was the dream of these girls.
“Uh… probably… not?” Clarissa said, somewhat uncertainly.
Because until now, she only knew that she was a “follower,” and God, even the system, had never asked her to “preach.”
It seemed that the existence of followers was not important to it at all.
Clarissa hadn't paid attention either… Now that the other party brought it up, she suddenly realized and quickly asked the system in her mind, “System, System! Does God need followers?”
“No, followers are meaningless to a true God; they bring no benefits and instead cause a lot of trouble.” The system told Clarissa.
“Understood!” Clarissa expressed her understanding.
Clarissa said to the middle-aged man, “I’m sorry!”
“It’s okay…” The middle-aged man’s eyes were a bit dim, and the two girls behind him were also very disappointed, but they couldn’t say anything, after all, their God didn’t even need followers…
Is this what a God from another world is like? So different from the Gods in their world…
After all, when Gods still existed, various divine churches flourished.
There wasn't much competition among them, and you were allowed to worship multiple Gods; it was a very open and free world.
Although there were also Gods who didn't need followers, those belonged to the “Zen” or “lazy” type of Gods; it didn't matter to them whether they had followers or not, and they wouldn't refuse if they did.
But Clarissa's God was one that “explicitly” stated it didn't need followers.
Clarissa looked at the girls whose eyes had dimmed, feeling a slight struggle in her heart. She said, “However, if you want to become stronger, I can help.”
Although all her power came from the system, her own efforts were also considerable; her mastery of integrated power was not low, and she was not someone who only used the power given by the system.
She was not controlled by power, but rather she controlled the power.
“Is that really possible?!” The two girls’ eyes suddenly lit up; they hadn't expected such a turn of events. Although the process was different, the result they sought was the same.
They wanted to believe in God for power, to become stronger!
“Um, can we too?” The other “eavesdropping” adventurers couldn’t sit still when they heard this and all asked.
“Of course, during these days, and on the way during the migration, I will teach you swordsmanship!” Clarissa nodded and said, “Of course, if you don’t learn swordsmanship, you can still listen and watch; all paths lead to the same destination, and learning from it can still lead to progress!”
“Thank you, Adult!” The adventurers all expressed their gratitude!
However, the mages who practiced magic were in a difficult position; they couldn't learn, after all, they played with magic, not swords.
Even adventurers with professions like archers and assassins had to learn; in short, just learning was the right thing to do!
After a while, the Guards Captain jogged over.
“Adult! Everyone has no objections! It’s getting late, everyone pack up, and then we’ll have a small bonfire party, and depart early tomorrow morning!” The Guards Captain said to Clarissa.
“Okay! No problem, as long as you all decide!” Clarissa nodded.
In the evening, everyone prepared dinner together; if you brought vegetables, I’d bring meat, and everyone held the bonfire party together.
Calling it a bonfire party, it was actually just making a big pot of communal food for everyone to eat together.
Gathered like this, things were packed, put in vehicles, and they could set off early tomorrow morning.
Clarissa ate with everyone, and there was nothing to do in the evening. Torches burned around, and everyone either chatted or rested.
It was still early, and Clarissa didn't go to bed that early. With Clarissa's current physique, she could go seven days without sleep, but sleeping had become a habit, and resting indeed made her more comfortable.
Someone was on rotation for night watch outside. With nothing else to do, Clarissa decided to start teaching everyone swordsmanship now.
“Come on! I’ll teach you swordsmanship; those who are willing to learn can all come and watch!” Clarissa said to everyone.
“Okay!” The adventurers all stood up.
Many people also came to join the fun.
This was tough for the night watchmen; they wanted to go, but they had to stand guard, hoping that Clarissa would still be teaching when their shift changed!
