172: Searching for equipment, encountering the Ghost Eagle again.

[We don't understand this profession, so we can't experience the joy in it.]

[Maybe. After all, everyone has their own specialty. It gets dark quickly in the mountains; I reckon they probably can't keep going. Who knows what might be waiting further ahead.]

[Right, right, right. It's better to just set up camp here.]

The audience now deeply understood what it meant for everyone to have their own specialty.

The members of the Search and Rescue Team and the Security Team went near the woods to gather branches and lit a campfire.

By the time Professor Wang and the others finished setting things up, night had already fallen.

Only then did they realize they had been studying the outer coffin for so long that they had lost track of time. They looked at Yang Mi, Wu Jing, and the others with somewhat apologetic expressions.

"We're really sorry; we spent a bit too much time studying this outer coffin."

"It's fine. We're tired too, so it's a good time to rest for the night."

Yang Mi said hurriedly.

What else could be said to these people who dedicated themselves to the country?

Naturally, it was best to just listen to them.

"Yeah! It's so dangerous ahead; it's better if we travel during the day to avoid any unnecessary risks."

Reba added from the side.

They truly felt awkward having an archaeology professor apologize to them.

Professor Wang just smiled without saying a word, then took out some food he had on him and prepared to eat.

He also needed to finish his notes, as these would be brought back as records.

Zhang Dada, Cai Xukun, and the others looked at the outer coffin and the Dried Corpse nearby, feeling a very eerie atmosphere. They stayed at the very edge, keeping a certain distance from the outer coffin.

"We could move a bit further ahead. This looks truly terrifying; seeing an outer coffin the moment you open your eyes is just scary."

Huang Zitao still felt a bit nauseous, even somewhat disgusted.

"Don't worry about that. Just try not to look at it."

Zhang Dada suddenly felt that the food in his mouth tasted terrible.

It wasn't so much that it tasted bad, but rather that he had lost his appetite.

After everyone had eaten and drunk their fill, they took out their sleeping bags to rest. Yang Mi, Reba, and the other girls stayed closer to Ye Bai.

Even with the Search and Rescue Team on patrol, they still felt uneasy, so it was better to be near Ye Bai.

For a while, only Professor Wang and Ye Bai remained awake.

Professor Wang finished writing the last word and closed his notebook. Finally, he looked at Ye Bai, who was leaning against a tree trunk, lost in thought.

Professor Wang thought for a moment, stood up, and walked over to Ye Bai. Just as he was about to speak, he heard an unusual sound coming from deep within the woods.

The two exchanged a glance and hurried toward the sound. When the patrolling Search and Rescue Team members saw this, they looked at Professor Wang in a hurry.

"Professor, you..."

"Ye Bai and I are going to check it out. You stay here and guard everyone."

Professor Wang felt that the fewer people going at this time, the better.

"But that won't do..."

The team member wanted to protest, but Professor Wang interrupted him.

"Are you still worried with Ye Bai's skills? Just stay here and keep watch."

Professor Wang said as he left with Ye Bai.

Ye Bai was quite surprised to see Professor Wang, who was in his seventies, running alongside him.

But he didn't refuse.

The two of them left the main group like that.

The number of people in the Live Stream Room was only increasing, but most were just keeping watch, and some hadn't fallen asleep yet.

Seeing Ye Bai and Professor Wang leave, their gossiping hearts were ignited.

[What's happening? Why did they run off again? Won't it be dangerous with just the two of them?]

[It won't be. Nothing will happen as long as Little Brother Ye Bai is there. Don't worry!!]

[I want to ask you guys, I just fell asleep, what happened? Why can't I see my Little Brother Ye Bai the moment I open my eyes?]

[It seems like there was some sound. I heard it.]

[I heard it too. It sounded like an explosion, but I didn't hear it very clearly.]

[Right, right, right. It was the sound of an explosion. I heard it too.]

...Ye Bai and Professor Wang kept running deep into the woods.

The sound drew closer and closer, accompanied by screams and the sound of bullets.

Professor Wang was a bit slower than Ye Bai and was already exhausted.

Ye Bai's speed was truly fast. If he hadn't slowed down, Professor Wang would have lost him. Fortunately, the distance wasn't too far.

Just as the two of them stood behind a large tree, they saw a group of people running away, but a few others were being hunted down by a flock of birds.

When he saw those birds, Professor Wang was stunned.

Weren't those... weren't those Ghost Eagles?

How could they appear here? This was unscientific.

"Ghost Eagles? Why are they here too?"

Professor Wang looked at the attacking Ghost Eagles in great surprise.

"King Xian had a good relationship with the King of Ancient Dian and King Yelang. It wouldn't be hard to get these things."

Ye Bai said slowly as he watched those people.

"That does sound reasonable, but why didn't these Tomb Robbers go in immediately? Instead, they're halfway..."

Professor Wang didn't quite understand what these Tomb Robbers were doing.

The news of their arrival wasn't a secret; the whole of Great Xia knew about it. There was no reason for them not to know. Since they knew, why didn't they just go straight in or move faster?

"Equipment!"

Ye Bai read a piece of information from Zhang Qilin's memories—equipment!

Their weapons must have been used up. There was a dilapidated airplane here, and inside it were many hidden firearms and ammunition.

Without weapons, these people could only wait for death, so they took the risk to find these things.

"There's equipment in there? We can't let them succeed."

Professor Wang didn't want them to bolster their equipment only to use it against them.

However, judging from the equipment on these people, they likely hadn't succeeded.

"Ye Bai, can you find the equipment?"

Professor Wang asked in a low voice.

"Yes." Ye Bai nodded slightly.

"Get the equipment back; we'll use it ourselves."

Professor Wang also wanted to replenish the equipment for the Search and Rescue Team.

"Can't take it away."

After leaving those words, Ye Bai's figure silently vanished into the darkness.

Professor Wang watched the ghost-like figure, his lips twitching. Couldn't this guy make some noise when he left?

But he didn't say anything and hid himself in the darkness.

Following Zhang Qilin's memories, Ye Bai arrived at a dilapidated airplane.

On the ground were overturned crates, with many scattered weapons and grenades inside, while others were neatly arranged.

Just as Ye Bai picked up one of the grenades, he heard a fluttering sound overhead.

Ye Bai slowly looked up and drew the black gold ancient blade from his back.

He prepared himself for battle at any moment.

Bang!

The Ghost Eagle slammed hard into the airplane above.

Seeing this, Ye Bai's expression turned cold, and he suddenly thrust his blade forward.
