314: A starving ghost, it even eats people?

Ye Bai put away his Precious Sword and looked at Yang Mi: "Can you still hold on?"

Yang Mi nodded.

At this moment, the Starving Ghost actually stood up, a mocking smile hanging on its hideous face.

"Hehehe, I didn't expect you to still be alive... Hahaha, you cannot kill me..." the Starving Ghost laughed loudly.

Ye Bai's eyes narrowed slightly. He suddenly raised his leg and stomped, crushing the Starving Ghost's chest.

Bang— The Starving Ghost fell to the ground, motionless, its body turning into a pool of pus and blood that dissipated into the air.

"It's safe now." Ye Bai let out a long sigh, sweat seeping from his forehead.

Meng Ziyi and Yang Mi were also exhausted, lying on the deck to rest.

"Ye Bai, the Starving Ghost is dead, and it's safe here. Shouldn't we leave now?" Meng Ziyi asked.

Ye Bai shook his head: "No rush, let's wait until dawn."

Night fell, and the moonlight was hazy. Flocks of bats circled overhead, and occasionally, crows let out shrill cries.

Suddenly, a strange sound rang out behind Ye Bai. He jumped onto the deck and raised his sword, pointing it towards the back.

"Who is it?" Ye Bai shouted angrily.

"It's me..." Meng Ziyi spoke weakly, then walked out from the cabin.

Hearing this, Yang Mi also stepped out of the cabin.

"Brother Ye Bai, it's Sister Ziyi and me..." Yang Mi stiffened the moment she saw the Starving Ghost.

Ye Bai said calmly: "Ziyi, take Yang Mi and get to the shore first."

"But Brother Ye Bai..." Yang Mi hesitated, afraid that the Starving Ghost would attack them again.

"I can handle this thing." Ye Bai said in a serious tone.

"Alright, Brother Ye Bai, take care of yourself." Yang Mi gritted her teeth, agreed, and pulled Meng Ziyi along as they ran.

Meng Ziyi walked towards the shore, looking back every few steps. She was worried about Ye Bai but also afraid of the Starving Ghost. Ye Bai waved at her, signaling her to leave without worry.

Once the figures of Meng Ziyi and Yang Mi disappeared from sight, Ye Bai finally turned around.

"Hehehe, little brat, you know you were wrong now, don't you?"

The Starving Ghost grinned with its bloody maw, as if it had already gained control over Ye Bai's life and death.

However, Ye Bai just glanced at it coldly and said indifferently: "If your true self were here, I would indeed be a bit wary. Unfortunately, you are just an evil corpse."

The Starving Ghost flew into a rage: "You're courting death!"

"Swish—" The Starving Ghost leaped forward, pouncing in front of Ye Bai. Its sharp claws slashed across his neck, instantly tearing through the skin and flesh, and blood gushed out.

Ye Bai felt the pain but did not dodge. Instead, he punched its abdomen.

Boom! The explosive force of the punch sent the Starving Ghost flying sideways.

"Cough..." The Starving Ghost clutched its abdomen, spitting out a few chunks of internal organs. Its eyes were incredibly venomous, wishing it could strip Ye Bai's skin and eat his flesh and blood.

Ye Bai wiped the blood from his wound and said calmly: "Since you refuse to stop, I will grant your wish."

As soon as he finished speaking, his figure flashed, and in the blink of an eye, he rushed in front of the Starving Ghost. He swung his long sword, and a cold light pierced through the Starving Ghost's skull.

Gulu— A green Bead rolled down from the top of the Starving Ghost's head. Ye Bai picked up the Bead and put it in his pocket.

The Starving Ghost fell into a pool of blood and slowly dissolved.

"The Starving Ghost is dead! That's great!" Yang Mi said excitedly.

Meng Ziyi was also extremely excited: "We've escaped a disaster."

"Get to the shore quickly." Ye Bai said.

The three of them landed on the shore. Yang Mi immediately took out her phone, dialed the police, and told them about the situation here.

"There is an ancient Mausoleum here." Meng Ziyi pointed to the distance at a dilapidated ruin and said, "However, there are no graves around it."

Ye Bai looked in that direction. This complex of ruins was large, looking like some kind of ancient royal Mausoleum. But now, it was overgrown with weeds growing wildly, covering the original path completely, making it difficult to see whether there were any Tombs inside.

"Let's go take a look."

Meng Ziyi and Yang Mi nodded.

Ye Bai raised his Precious Sword and strode towards the Mausoleum. The two women, Meng Ziyi and Yang Mi, followed closely behind.

The further they went inside, the deeper and darker it became. When they reached the end, there were piles of chaotic bricks and stones all around. Meng Ziyi took out a flashlight and shone it ahead.

Ahead, a bronze door with mottled red lacquer appeared. The door was half-open, revealing a faint gap. A faint light seemed to shine from behind the door.

Ye Bai frowned, feeling that things were becoming more complicated.

"This is..." Meng Ziyi suddenly widened her beautiful eyes in surprise, seeing that the wall next to the bronze door was carved with dense runes and patterns, indicating that this bronze door was a Magical Artifact.

Ye Bai stepped forward and knocked on the heavy bronze door.

"Dong, dong, dong—" "Clang—"

Suddenly, the bronze door was smashed open.

"Ah—" Yang Mi screamed in fright.

"Don't be afraid!" Ye Bai quickly comforted her, "It's just an illusion."

Ye Bai stepped through the bronze door first, and then Meng Ziyi and Yang Mi followed inside.

What came into view was a wide corridor, with various coffins placed on both sides.

This place was clearly a Tomb Mound.

"Brother Ye Bai, look over there!" Suddenly, Meng Ziyi whispered, pointing at a Tombstone.

Ye Bai looked in the direction Meng Ziyi pointed, and saw a line of characters carved on the Tombstone: "The Coffin of My Son, Ye Hao".

"What does that mean?" Ye Bai asked, puzzled.

Meng Ziyi shook her head, indicating she didn't know.

Suddenly, a slight noise came from the Tomb Mound, as if something was moving.

Meng Ziyi's face turned pale, and she grabbed Yang Mi's arm tightly.

"Don't panic." Ye Bai patted her shoulder to comfort her.

This world was filled with strange and dangerous existences. Even ordinary people would become extremely sensitive when encountering events that defied reason.

Meng Ziyi forced herself to calm down. She took a deep breath, focused her gaze, and stared at the other end of the corridor.

"Click... click..." A faint movement sound came from there.

Ye Bai raised his vigilance, his gaze fixed on the source of the sound.

Suddenly, his pupils shrank.

A person walked out from the other end of the corridor.

The person was shrouded in black clothes, with only their exposed lips and hands being white. Their body was hunched, slowly approaching, with a staggering gait, giving one a morbid feeling.

But Ye Bai recognized him; it was exactly that Starving Ghost!

"It's actually this guy!" Ye Bai's eyes were cold, "Truly, Vengeful Spirits are hard to get rid of."

The Starving Ghost stopped five or six meters away from them and stood still.

Its gloomy gaze fixed on the three of them, and it said in a hoarse voice: "I need to devour the Qi of you three to fully recover."

"Don't even think about it!" Ye Bai shouted in a deep voice.

The Starving Ghost laughed strangely: "You cannot kill me. In this space, there is no matter or life; you will never be able to kill me. Unless you possess overwhelming power! Hehe..."

It raised its withered, shriveled right arm, pointed at Ye Bai, and grinned: "Even if you have martial arts, how could your speed possibly keep up with mine?"
