342: A swarm of corpse ants; this place is unusual.
The way it stood up was extremely bizarre; the entire Skeleton was stiff, appearing like a mummy from the neck down. However, its legs were as flexible as snakes, crawling toward Ye Bai.
Everything about this was too eerie.
Ye Bai knew that if it got close, he would definitely be doomed!
"This Skull seems covered in curses," Ye Bai thought to himself, sensing trouble.
Just then, Black Mist flew out of the coffin and entangled the Skull. The power of the Black Mist was very strange, and the Skull's movements instantly came to a halt.
"Haha, let's see where you run now!" Ye Bai was overjoyed.
He rushed forward quickly and stomped his foot down on the Skull's body.
The Skull did not dodge, allowing Ye Bai's feet to trample heavily upon its chest.
"Roar—"
Accompanied by a shrill scream, the Skull finally vanished.
Ye Bai panted for a moment and looked down at the bottom of the coffin, only to find it empty; there was nothing inside.
"What's going on?" Ye Bai frowned.
"Could that thing be hidden here?"
He reached out to touch the coffin, but when he touched the bottom, a strange change occurred again.
"Hmm?" Ye Bai said in surprise, "How can it be..."
A map actually appeared at the bottom of the coffin. The map was so blurred—over a hundred times more than normal—that even Ye Bai couldn't clearly see every stroke on it.
Ye Bai tried to focus his attention on the map, but he could only make out a few sparse strokes.
"A valley is marked on this map. Could this be the Yin Yang Valley?"
As Ye Bai clearly saw the last stroke on the map, his heart pounded wildly.
Because it was a valley, and in the center of the valley were two sunken pits. One pit contained a partial Skeleton, while the other pit held an outer coffin.
"If that's really the case, then that Black Mist must be hidden within this tomb."
Ye Bai took out his divination compass, calculated the direction, and then led Meng Xi and Yang Mengxue along the route marked on the map toward the Yin Yang Valley.
The three of them walked for a long time, finally arriving in the Yin Yang Valley at dusk.
This was a desolate, uninhabited canyon with complex and rugged terrain.
Ye Bai looked at the needle of the divination compass and then scanned the surroundings, finding no sign of the Skull.
"Did that fellow hide?" he muttered.
Suddenly, a rustling sound came from the distance.
Ye Bai looked up and saw a dense swarm of pitch-black ants emerging from the depths of the forest, numbering in the tens of thousands.
They crawled in a line toward Ye Bai's group, the black cloud of insects obscuring their vision.
"Damn, it's Corpse Ants!" Yang Mengxue screamed, beads of cold sweat instantly appearing on her forehead.
Corpse Ants are a type of insect that specifically devours human flesh and blood. Their food consists of the corpses of humans and various insects, especially the decaying bodies of infants.
Their teeth are incredibly sharp, capable of easily biting through steel and iron; even firearms might not necessarily kill them.
Furthermore, Corpse Ants love to gather together to form a massive Corpse Ant army.
Corpse Ants possess extremely strong reproductive capabilities.
The Live Stream Room was instantly flooded with bullet comments, the audience's terror and concern rushing in like a tide.
"Oh my god, these Corpse Ants are too terrifying! Streamer, run!"
"I feel like there's really no escape this time. With so many Corpse Ants, how can they get away?"
"Even the 'Cool Big Boss' has his day. I hope he can think of a way!"
Ye Bai's brow was tightly furrowed, yet his eyes remained calm. He quickly took several packets of powder from his backpack and threw them toward the Corpse Ant swarm.
The powder dispersed in the air, forming a faint smoke.
The Corpse Ant swarm paused slightly upon contact with the smoke, but soon continued forward.
"What is this? Why isn't it working?" Meng Ziyi asked anxiously.
"It's just ordinary insect repellent; it can only slightly delay their speed," Ye Bai said while observing the surroundings, looking for terrain he could use.
Yang Mi's face was pale with fear, her voice trembling slightly. "Are we going to die here? I don't want to be eaten by these things."
Ye Bai glanced at her. "Calm down. Fear won't solve the problem."
The Corpse Ant swarm drew closer and closer, that rustling sound sounding like a countdown to death.
Ye Bai's eyes suddenly lit up. He saw a narrow gully not far away, with some liquid emitting a pungent odor flowing inside.
"Go that way!" Ye Bai shouted, taking the lead and running toward the gully. Meng Ziyi and Yang Mi followed in a hurry.
The three ran to the edge of the gully. Ye Bai picked up a stone and threw it in. As soon as the stone touched the liquid, a puff of white smoke rose as if it were being corroded.
"This liquid is corrosive; maybe it can block the Corpse Ants," Ye Bai said.
The Corpse Ant swarm soon caught up, surging toward the gully without hesitation.
The leading Corpse Ants fell into the gully and were instantly submerged by the liquid, their bodies beginning to dissolve.
But the Corpse Ants behind did not stop, continuing to charge forward one after another.
The audience in the Live Stream Room watched this scene tensely.
"Can this method work? It feels like there are too many Corpse Ants."
"Go for it, Streamer! You must succeed!"
As more and more Corpse Ants fell into the gully, the liquid was gradually filled. The Corpse Ants began to pile up on top, attempting to build a 'Corpse Ant bridge.'
"Oh no, they're coming across," Meng Ziyi cried out.
Ye Bai looked around and found some dry branches nearby. He quickly picked them up, lit them with a Fire Starter, and threw them toward the pile of Corpse Ants. The burning branches landed on the pile, instantly igniting a large fire. The Corpse Ants scattered in all directions from the fire, and a scorched stench filled the air.
"While we have the chance, let's go!" Ye Bai led Meng Ziyi and Yang Mi away along the edge of the gully.
After walking for a while, they finally shook off the Corpse Ant swarm. All three breathed a sigh of relief.
"That was so harrowing; I felt like my heart was about to stop," Yang Mi said, patting her chest.
"Don't celebrate too early. We don't know what other dangers are here," Ye Bai said coldly.
They continued walking toward the depths of the valley, the surrounding environment becoming increasingly gloomy.
Suddenly, Meng Ziyi felt her foot being grabbed by something.
She looked down and screamed in terror. A skeletal white hand reached out from underground and grabbed her ankle.
"Ah! Help!" Meng Ziyi struggled desperately.
Ye Bai quickly crouched down, took out his Dagger, and hacked forcefully at the Skeletal Hand.
The Dagger struck the bone, sending up some sparks.
The Skeletal Hand released Meng Ziyi's ankle, but more Skeletal Hands reached out from underground.
"This is a graveyard. There must be many corpses underground. We've been discovered by them," Ye Bai said.
Another wave of panic hit the Live Stream Room.
"My god, this is too scary. It feels like watching a horror movie."
"Streamer, think of something! These Skeletal Hands are too terrifying."
