334: Mei Niang, a beauty that appears only once in a thousand years

Ye Bai continued to walk forward. As he walked, the faint sound of rushing water came from ahead.

With a thought, he immediately changed direction and ran forward.

"Ye Bai, what are you doing?" Meng Ziyi asked in confusion. Seeing him running so urgently, she couldn't help but ask.

Ye Bai didn't pay her any mind and instead quickened his pace.

Yang Mi followed closely behind.

Seeing this, Meng Ziyi also quickened her pace. She felt that Ye Bai seemed to know what was in that direction, but she didn't understand how he knew... After passing through an archway, the view suddenly opened up. This place was actually an ancient Imperial Tomb. Rows of Tomb Chambers were arranged in a semi-circle, with a wide river in the middle. Beside the river, stone coffins were laid out, their dense numbers enough to make one's skin crawl.

At this moment, Ye Bai was staring at a Tomb Chamber, his expression shifting.

"Is this the emperor's Tomb Chamber?" Yang Mi's eyes widened in surprise. She saw that the Female Corpses inside those stone coffins had all woken up and were sitting in their coffins, staring at them blankly.

Ye Bai narrowed his eyes. "Wait for me here. Don't move or make a sound. I'll go investigate and come back for you."

"Oh." Meng Ziyi nodded obediently. "Ye Bai, stay safe."

"Mm."

As Ye Bai spoke, he picked up a Shovel and entered the Tomb Chamber. He first checked everything to confirm that all the Tomb Chambers were equipped with mechanisms before he began to wander around leisurely.

There were a full hundred stone coffins in this Tomb Chamber, each with the exact same design. The carvings on the Coffin Lids were intricate and lifelike.

Moreover, these stone coffins were not sealed shut, leaving only a small gap. If someone were to break in, the Coffin Lids would open.

After Ye Bai finished his observation, he already had a good idea of the situation.

Since the coffins weren't sealed, it was impossible for them to contain corpses. Therefore... the things inside the coffins must be alive; he just needed to open the Coffin Lids!

Ye Bai sneered, lifting his Hoe and smashing it toward the nearest coffin.

With a loud crash, the Coffin Lid shattered. He lifted the lid to take a look and saw two women of similar age lying inside the coffin.

These two women were beautiful, with skin like congealed fat, but their skin was deathly pale, looking very much like dead people.

Their eyes were tightly shut, and their chests were flat, with no signs of breathing at all.

Ye Bai frowned as he crouched down to observe the two corpses closely.

Suddenly, he was startled.

"Why are these corpses transparent!"

He quickly grabbed the two women's arms, trying to feel the corpses' bones.

As it turned out, the bodies were soft, feeling like marshmallows when squeezed.

At this time, Yang Mi rushed in and was also startled by the sight. "Heavens, why are they... why are they transparent?"

She approached Ye Bai tremulously, looking at the two strange corpses. "I saw them lying in the outer coffin just now, and I specifically looked at their eyes; they seemed to be open."

"Don't be afraid," Ye Bai said as he lifted the two corpses and placed them together. He then took out a rope from his pack and tied it around their waists. Following that, he took a Spade, dug up some soil, and buried the two corpses.

After completing this series of actions, he took out a piece of talisman paper from his pack, folded it into a ball, and threw it into the soil.

Yang Mi was stunned for a few seconds after seeing Ye Bai's series of actions before she reacted. "So you know Feng Shui, Ye Bai, how impressive!"

"It's alright," Ye Bai replied indifferently.

"By the way, Ye Bai, how are we going to take the things here out? We can't just carry them all out, can we?"

"Of course not." Ye Bai shook his head and walked to the other coffins. He reached out and tapped on the coffin wood; there was no sound from inside, but he could hear a faint bumping sound.

"There must be a mechanism inside this coffin." Ye Bai pondered for a moment, then took out a Dagger and made a few cuts on the coffin wood.

After a few crisp sounds, the coffin board was actually sliced open.

"Ah!" Yang Mi covered her mouth in fear.

This time, after the coffin board was completely cut open, there was still nothing unusual inside.

Ye Bai frowned and muttered, "How can there be no mechanism?"

He thought for a while and decided to pry open two more stone coffins.

Yang Mi suggested from the side, "Why don't you try this?"

She pointed to a painting hanging on the wall. In the painting was a Sculpture of a woman in a red dress, looking elegant and noble.

Ye Bai glanced at the painting. "Hm? Is this a Puppet?"

Yang Mi nodded. "It's said to be the once highly Favored Consort—Wu Meiniang."

"Wu Meiniang?" Ye Bai raised an eyebrow. "This woman in the painting certainly has quite the poise."

He smiled, walked to the stone coffin, and pushed it open.

Rumble!

The heavy Stone Door slowly moved aside, revealing a pitch-black, deep space that made one's heart skip a beat for no reason.

Yang Mi shrank her neck and whispered, "Ye Bai, this place isn't haunted, is it?"

Ye Bai laughed. "What are Ghosts?" As he spoke, he stepped into the empty Cave.

Yang Mi quickly followed him in.

The two walked for a long time before finally reaching the end.

There was actually a small door here.

"Could it be..." Yang Mi swallowed and said nervously, "Did we take the wrong way?"

Ye Bai patted her head. "Don't make wild guesses, open the door."

"Ah? Aren't you afraid?" Yang Mi hesitated.

Ye Bai said, "Is being afraid useful? Since I dared to come in, I'm naturally not afraid of it." As he spoke, he walked straight to the door without any fear.

Creak! The door opened.

A dim Passage came into view.

Yang Mi swallowed. "Ye Bai, why is this place so creepy? I'm a bit scared."

"It's fine, just follow me."

The two walked side by side. Yang Mi held Ye Bai's sleeve tightly and asked nervously, "Ye Bai, don't you think it's too quiet here?"

Ye Bai said calmly, "As long as we aren't noisy, it's fine."

Yang Mi curled her lip. "You think I'm a jinx?" Even so, she still followed closely by Ye Bai's side.

The Passage was very narrow. Ye Bai took a few steps and stopped. He turned his head to look at Yang Mi beside him. "You go first."

"Ah? You..."

Ye Bai He stared at her with a serious expression.:“ Listen to me.”

Yang Mi hesitated for a moment and had to let go of Ye Bai, walking forward alone. After a few steps, she turned back and said worriedly, "Ye Bai, hurry up."

Ye Bai nodded and continued forward.

At this time, Yang Mi vaguely felt a chill. She instinctively touched her arm. "Strange, why did it suddenly get cold?"

Ye Bai didn't stop. "I remember you just said it was cold?"

"Yeah!"

Ye Bai said, "Hang in there a bit longer, we'll be out of here soon."

Yang Mi thought of something, her cheeks suddenly turned bright red. She quickly looked away and quickened her pace.

The further they went, the heavier the Yin Qi became.

Yang Mi grit her teeth and endured, constantly muttering to herself that she must hold on, or wouldn't she become a burden?
