340: Buddhist pagoda formation, drought demon appears

The patterns carved on the Pagoda door are very complex; if I'm not mistaken, the purpose of this Pagoda should be to reinforce the seal, making it difficult for anyone to break.

Ye Bai turned his head to look aside and found many grooves on that Pagoda.

"Could it be..."

He squatted down and pressed a groove with his hand.

The Pagoda moved slowly, emitting a crisp sound.

A bell chime echoed out.

Suddenly, the entire Pagoda trembled violently, and streaks of golden light shot out from inside, soaring into the sky.

The windows on the top floor of the Pagoda were pierced, and dense golden light showered down.

Ye Bai was prepared and held Yang Mi to dodge.

At the same time, streaks of golden light shot into the ground, covering the floor tiles in the blink of an eye, as if forming a huge Formation.

Ye Bai's expression changed, and he quickly pulled Yang Mi back several meters to dodge.

The original ground was now plated with a metallic luster, looking like a hard iron shell.

Immediately after, profound and obscure patterns began to flicker on the floor tiles, intertwining with each other to construct a massive and mysterious Formation.

Golden light shone brilliantly above the Formation, illuminating every inch of the land.

Ye Bai narrowed his eyes and stared intently at the Formation. The scene reflected in his pupils was incredibly shocking, as if he were right there in the midst of it.

"Is this the Buddha Formation?" Ye Bai murmured to himself.

The Buddha Formation is one of Buddhism's highest secret techniques, and it is said to possess terrifying power.

"You're right, these things weren't left by humans."

Yang Mi said, "I heard from my grandfather that Buddhism has items such as the Seven Treasures Sarira, Three Realms Buddhist Beads, Sarira Pagoda, and Three Corpse Gods, all of which are a Legacy from ancient times. The Ancient Tomb we are in is very likely a Buddhist Holy Land."

"Oh?" Hearing this, Ye Bai's interest grew significantly.

"I heard from Grandpa that Buddhist Holy Lands all hide various treasures, and many precious items and Martial Arts Classics are buried inside."

Yang Mi's beautiful eyes sparkled with longing. "However, Grandpa once said that in the mortal world, nothing is eternal and Immortal, not even those as powerful as an Immortal."

"So although Buddhist Holy Lands contain endless wealth, they are extremely dangerous; one slight mistake could cost you your life."

Ye Bai smiled and said, "Then what are we waiting for? Let's go in quickly!"

"But..."

"No more buts, just stay here obediently; I'll go get some fun things."

With that, Ye Bai turned and left.

He walked all the way into the depths and soon reached the end, where he saw another Stone Door.

Ye Bai raised his hand and pressed the groove on the Stone Door.

Creak—

The Stone Door opened, revealing a Stone Chamber inside. The layout was quite exquisite, with various Murals hanging on the walls.

The figures on the Murals were lifelike and vivid.

In the center sat a Bronze Chest.

Ye Bai approached and lightly stroked the Bronze Chest, which was engraved with strange patterns.

He raised an eyebrow as if thinking of something and immediately took out his phone to call Qin Tian.

"Hello? Brother Ye? Is there something you need?" Qin Tian's hearty voice came through.

"Help me check where there are Ancient Tombs near Nanhai City. The faster, the better." Ye Bai went straight to the point.

"Ancient Tombs?" Qin Tian was stunned for a moment.

"Yes, I'm looking for a treasure that can only be found in a large Tomb."

"Well, that will take quite some time; I need time to investigate."

"Find out as soon as possible." Ye Bai pondered for a moment and said, "Remember, do not disturb anything inside the Tomb."

"Understood, don't worry."

"Alright, talk to you later." Ye Bai said and hung up the phone.

He stood by the Bronze Chest and examined it. The chest was about half a meter long and two feet wide, divided into top and bottom halves with a hole in the middle.

Ye Bai pressed his ear to the hole and listened carefully.

Thump— Thump— Thump!

A strange heartbeat sounded in the air, deafening like a drum and carrying a mysterious, unfathomable power.

This Tomb is indeed extraordinary.

Ye Bai took a deep breath, leaped up, and jumped into the Bronze Chest.

As soon as he landed in the Bronze Chest, a sudden gale rose and swept over him.

The sound of thunder came from outside, shaking the heavens.

Ye Bai looked closely and saw that the previously clear night was suddenly filled with rolling dark clouds obscuring the moon, with raging winds and lightning.

Bean-sized raindrops pelted down, making the window frames rattle as if a vast army were charging into battle, with a murderous intent rushing at him.

"What's going on?" Ye Bai frowned.

Suddenly, a bolt of lightning sliced through the Void Realm, illuminating the entire Tomb and reflecting a horrifying scene.

A Dried Corpse actually crawled out of the stone coffin, its skin withered and grayish-black. Its eyes snapped open, revealing a hideous and terrifying ghost face, mangled and emitting a thick stench.

It pounced toward Ye Bai with claws and fangs bared.

A piercing roar echoed throughout the Tomb, deafening and soul-stirring.

This Dried Corpse actually spoke human words, shouting hoarsely with rage, "Thief! Give me your life!"

Ye Bai's brows furrowed as he struck out with his palm.

A ball of fire erupted, slamming into the Dried Corpse and instantly making it howl in pain.

"Eh? You're actually a Hanba!" Ye Bai was surprised but quickly calmed down.

Hanba are not zombies, but their characteristics are extremely similar.

Ye Bai knew well the power of the Hanba; he didn't dare be careless, maintaining the flames to suppress the Hanba while quickly thinking of a strategy.

"Hmph, a mere Hanba dares to be so insolent before me!"

Ye Bai shouted, his hand seals changing, and the flames instantly transformed into a fire snake that coiled toward the Hanba.

The Hanba was entangled by the fire snake and let out roars of fury. The fire on its body burned brighter, yet it still struggled to pounce toward Ye Bai, its ferocious aura chilling to the bone.

"Ye Bai, be careful!" Yang Mi shouted anxiously from outside. Although she was afraid, her gaze remained fixed on Ye Bai, and she had picked up a stone at some point, seemingly ready to rush in and help at any moment.

Just then, the Hanba suddenly broke free from the fire snake's restraint, its speed increasing as it rushed right in front of Ye Bai.

Ye Bai had no time to dodge and was grabbed by the shoulder by the Hanba; those withered fingers were like iron pincers, sinking deep into Ye Bai's flesh.

"Ah!"

Ye Bai was in pain, but his gaze remained firm.

He quickly pulled a yellow talisman from his waist and recited an Incantation. The yellow talisman instantly ignited, turning into a golden light that shot toward the Hanba.

The Hanba was hit by the golden light, released Ye Bai, and retreated a few steps.

"This thing is too troublesome."

Ye Bai frowned, secretly complaining in his heart.

He knew this couldn't continue; he had to find the Hanba's weakness.

He suddenly remembered it was recorded in the Ancient Book that the Hanba feared water, but where would water come from in this Tomb Chamber?

Ye Bai looked around and suddenly discovered a Bead embedded in the ceiling of the Tomb.
